Right now, surprisingly, I only have 3 WIPs (a Pinia pullover and 2 pairs of socks) and these are ones that I am working on regularly. I am hoping to get these 3 current WIPs done by end of December so then I can start a bunch of new stuff in the New Year.
I would love to try your yogurt. I make homemade yogurt in the instant pot, so yeah you’re yogurt sounds interesting
It's good to meet a fellow yogurt maker. I've been on my own with this so far.
This is my first time finding you. I am so glad. I have four whips one is in hibernation. I’m getting ready to cast on one more vest. I know Devan from Knitty Mcpurly and I just got my Advent from her today. I’m excited so you’re my other person that I know that knows Devan also I wish that I could go to the retreat, but I’m not able to do that this year. Where do you live? Do you live close to her? I’m excited that you know her also. Yay. I really like your whips that you’re doing, they are very nice and I love the sweater you’re wearing
Welcome, Linda! I live in the Chicago suburbs. I met Devin through her TH-cam channel. Maybe we can meet in person someday too.
I have 7 wips.
That's a good number. Not too many.
Thanks so much for the gift. I love the bag and look forward to receiving it. ❤
I have 6 WIPS total with 3 that are hibernating. I am in the process of a WIP down until the end of the year :) My Hansel Hap will not be pulled out again until after the first of the year. I started it over 2 1/2 years ago LOL!!
I have plans to do a WIP down, but I don't seem to have the discipline to stick with my plans.
I have 6 wips. 2 cardigans, 1 sweater, 2 pair of socks and 1 scarf. Also have a few ufos…. Lovely bag! 🤗
Interesting. What do you consider to be the difference between a WIP and a UFO? Is that the same as a hibernating project? It went into timeout, and you haven't gotten around to working on it for a long time?
@ Yes! But, I also think that wips are projects that I like working at, the ufos I for some reason don’t enjoy.
I have 4 WIPs; 3 of them are socks. I don’t really have anything “hibernating” right now, but I have two frogged projects patiently waiting for me to start over. I usually have one main project that I’m working on, plus a small portable project to take in the car and an additional mindless project if my main project requires a lot of focus.
So disciplined!
@@pandemicknitter 😆 I would not say that. I may have few WIPs, but I have a long queue.
I have 9 WIPs plus one I’m going to frog soon. This is NOT normal for me! I prefer 2 or 3 WIPs. I hope you get all the answers you need and feel better soon. I haven’t shared this much but I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July and am currently going through chemo. I should feel good in the spring so I hope you do too and maybe we can have that meet up I didn’t get to go to last year. Would love to meet you! Love all your sweaters! I can only do one at a time. I’m about 3/4 done with the Champagne Cardigan by PetiteKnit. I alternate that with several smaller projects.
Sorry to hear this, Eileen. I hope your treatment is going well. 💓
Thank you, Eileen. I appreciate you sharing your health status. Some days must be really tough. We need to make this meet up happen!
@@pandemicknitter yes for sure, let's check in in the spring and see if we can make it happen!
@@selfishknitter Thank you. I'm doing well.
Hi! I have 9 WIPS, 2 are in progress and 7 are hibernating. I will be circling back to 1 of them after these 2 in progress. I'm working on the Audrey Sweater by Knitty McPurly. I making it to wear at the retreat in January.
I look forward to meeting you in person!
Thanks for the info about gut health. I, too, struggle with that issue and also am lactose intolerant. I make a 24 hour yogurt in my Instant Pot, that supposedly makes it almost lactose free. I also take Culturelle for Abdominal Support and Comfort daily which has helped. I will be watching the videos as you suggest. I have 2 active WIPs and 2 that are in hibernation. I get overwhelmed if I have many more than that. Your newest sweater is lovely. Thanks for taking he time to podcast as I so enjoy watching.
Thanks for the gut health advice. I'll look into those things.
Praying for a specific diagnosis so it can be treated. Gorgeous projects.
Thanks, Lucile!
For your health you should research animal based only food to help get your gut biome back in shape.
Dr. Berg talks about that, but it scares me to go so extreme. I've thought about investigating that avenue. Thanks for the advice!
So, I have 15 WIPs. Some of them are kind of hibernating. But, I also have about 4 other categories of items I make for donation that I really don’t count as WIPs, but I actively work on all the time. Hats, Scarves, Knitted Knockers, Chemo Caps, etc. Then there’s the big project I just started that I won’t confess to until and unless I succeed to meet my own goal. Glad you’re feeling a little better at least some oof the time.
You have less than me? Congratulations! I need to get to work.
Hi Beth, I love all those sweaters. I like Kendra's question. Which is your most worn sweater?
Thank you. I appreciate the input.
Hi Beth - love the sweaters you showed! I’m always curious to ask people what their most worn knit is and why. (I am lucky enough to have Sandy bags, so will recuse myself from the giveaway)
Thank you, Kendra! That's a great question. I know I have a lot that I wear regularly and many that I rarely wear.
Knitty McPurly Retreat is the *best* acquisition! I’m loving all your cardigans. I don’t think I can fit the Grapevine sweater in among all the other things I want to make, but it has been tempting me. I like the short sleeve version that Lisa made. Expanding on Cheryl’s question: Are the colors you gravitate toward colors that you often wear? (Please exclude me from Sandy bag drawing.)
P.S. Don’t waste your money on a microphone. Your sound quality is just fine, and microphones are fiddly.
Thanks, Colleen! I like your suggestion.
Hey! I love the cardigan, it's gonna be gorgeous. As for the yarn color, I'd go for the lavendar for myself, but the blue/green is definitely you! Keep doing you! I love your podcast as it is. I feel like I'm hanging out with my friend. I'm so glad you're going to the retreat again, yay!
Thank you, Wendy! I'm looking forward to seeing you again too!
Hi Beth! So glad you will be at the Knitty McPurly retreat. I guess I thought you were already going! Here is the question: Do you always gravitate to the same color/colors?
I'm looking forward to seeing you again! That's a great question. I know my answer is yes. I'll use that one.
It’s early morning so I can’t think of a question. 😃 I’ve already won a bag (love it!) so keep me out of the drawing. Love the sweaters!
Thanks, Eileen. I can relate to the morning thing. 🤣
Beth-yay, I’m so glad I’ll see you again at the retreat!
Me too! Are you doing the knit along?
@@pandemicknitter I am-it’s slow going because I’ve got so many other projects. It’ll be done by January, for sure, though. Are you doing it?
I probably will after I clear some of my other projects off the needles.
I think you should continue to just be you on your podcasts. I really enjoy spending virtual time with you, seeing all your beautiful projects, and thinking things through with you. Glad you reminded me I want to do the Scrapdigan.
Thanks, Stephanie! I hope you do make the Scrapdigan. It's so fun.
I love my Sandy bag and am using it all the time. I took it to my LYS and the gals loved it...thanks so much!
I'm so happy that you love it! It's good to know that it's getting a lot of use.
I loved knitting the Garden cardigan. I used Silky Wool. Ask how many wips do you have?
Silky wool sounds nice. Did you get gauge? I like your question suggestion.
It will be great to see you at the retreat!
I'm so excited! I'm looking forward to seeing you too.
I enjoyed knitting the Garden Cardigan
It's a fun knit, right? That's the one I've been working on the most recently. Have you posted it on Instagram? Do I follow you there? I couldn't find you when I searched for your name. I'd love to see yours.
Seeing you on my iPad last night put a big smile on my face. 😁 I hope your nose bruise is healing. I am having gauge issues and probably need to frog 9” of knitting and start over. 😭 Pattern is for 19/4”, my pre-blocked gauge was 20/4” and I figured that would be fine. It was starting to look really big so I stopped to take some measurements. The total width of my top is off by 4” before blocking (and it’s superwash, so I know it will only get bigger.) My gauge is now 18-19 stitches over 4” everywhere I checked. My sanity is in danger. 😂
This is why we have so many projects, right? When one is disappointing, we move on to the next.
@@pandemicknitter I’m going back to hats for a couple weeks. I need some instant gratification. 😁
Love your sweater! Enjoyed this episode as usual. I love how upbeat you are.
Thanks, Eileen!
I won the Sandy Bag! Yay! And thank you! What a blessing. I want to add that I had been subscribed...but this morning I was not. So glad I caught the video anyway!! Check your subscriptions everyone.
Congratulations! I'm so happy that you found me again.
Just love your chevrons scarf/wrap thing. Can’t wait to see it finished. Noted to self,I should be starting something similar….because I don’t have enough WIPS 😅😅😅😂😂😂😅😅😅
Thanks, Stephanie. We should have some kind of WIP confession group. We may need our emotional support chickens to help us through.
You definitely like green, don’t you? I think it’s a good color for you. I love that cardigan and will look forward to seeing its progress. My trick for remembering needle size on a swatch is to put knots in the tail, 5 knots for size 5, etc.
Thanks, Sharon. Yes, I do like green. I think I'm in a green phase. I usually do add something to help me remember the needle size. I don't know why I didn't do it this time.
I absolutely love the colour of your Garden Cardigan. I'm starting to think that that type of green is the new neutral 💚💚
Thank you, Sandra. I love all shades of green.
It's so good to see you! Interstellar about that Alpaca yarn. I'm sure your traveler will be gorgeous once you have it figured out.
Thanks, Wendy. I'm looking forward to cozying up in it.
A lot of gauge swatchin' goin' on😂
Keeping my fingers crossed that my FOs will fit.
I don't know how I missed this episode! I checked my notifications and it seems I wasn't subscribed anymore...odd! I did remedy that 😊 Your green sweater is beautiful....but the poncho is glorious. I've gone right over and purchased the pattern. I can't start yet...but I think I'll put it on my calendar as a New Year's Day cast-on ❤ I'm not entering the draw for the bag, as I am a previous winner (love my bag!) I also really like the Paulie Cardigan. I skimmed by it at first because I thought it looked like intarsia, which I'm not interested in...but when I saw it was mosaic knitting it caught my interest as I love knitting mosaic, and I love the texture
I'm glad you found me again. I've heard of people getting accidentally unsubsidized. It's a strange glitch. I hope you enjoy knitting the Alhambra!
I've not yet knit with alpaca but would like to try it one day. Love your knits! Greetings from London UK
You should give it a try. It's crazy to me to think I've reached someone all the way across the pond. Thanks for watching!
Amazing FO’s! They all look amazing!
Thanks, Tara!
🙌🥳👏 The poncho is done! 👏👏👏 The cables are gorgeous and your collar modification turned out great. Also love the Bird Song Shawl. Was the Zeoli yarn a purchase from the Knitty McPurly retreat?
Thank you, Colleen. Yes, I did get the yarn from the KMP retreat. As the next retreat approaches, I'm already feeling fomo. 😪
Your finishes are beautiful! I love knitting with alpaca - just finished a hat in baby alpaca that’s so soft. I wondered if you blocked your swatch - mine definitely bloomed after blocking.
Thank you, Kendra. Yes, I blocked my swatch. I have now gone down to a size 1.5 needle. That seems really small for a sport weight yarn. That swatch is on the blocking mat now. Hoping for a better outcome.
Your sweater and your poncho both look fabulous! I love that purple yarn set at the end.
Thank you, Eileen!
I have some alpaca in my stash but haven’t knit with it yet. I do have a pair of alpaca fingerless mitts that I purchased from another knitter and absolutely love them! 😊
You'll love knitting with it! I hope it hops on your needles soon.
I like the subtle pop of color in your shawl
Thank you, Margo.
Poncho is beautiful yes a labor of love
Alpaca is very soft but can also be a bit prickly if the guard hairs aren’t removed. It is more drapey than wool and doesn’t have the springiness of wool, so will stretch. I think alpacas have cuter faces than llamas. I’m not sure which is on that bag. I think you will probably be happier with that sweater if you tone down or remove the waist shaping. The rest of the sweater seems to me to have more positive ease than what would work for a tailored look.
I haven't experienced prickly alpaca. I'll have to be careful about ordering it online. Thanks for the advice.
WOW You have been very busy, all your finished projects are beautiful. Your Alhambra sweater looks great on you. I just love your poncho, BEAUTIFUL I just finished a sweater and read that it has Alpaca, I love the Sandy Bag and love the one I won before, please leave me out of the drawing so someone else can enjoy.
Yes, I've been busy. It's nice to finish things. Thank you, Mary!
I love Alpacas. One of my best birthdays is the year I was taken to an Alpaca farm. Of course I bought some alpaca yarn and made a cowl with it. Florida is too warm for larger garments made with alpaca even though it feels dreamy.
I'd love to visit an alpaca farm. That sounds like a fun birthday!
What awesome finishes! Just beautiful. And, holy cables! Wow!
My first alpaca blend project is a close fitting scarf. A bit itchy, so I'd like to try it again with a different type of project. Love the Sandy Bag! I have a fabric yarn bowl in the same fabric 🙂. Thanks for sharing all your work.
I didn't know alpaca could be itchy. The yarn I have is very smooth.
I love knitting with alpaca yarn. And I love the alpaca bag!
Hi Chris. Yes, it is a nice bag.
Awe! So good to see you again! Your shawl and poncho are gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
