That is a flat day... nothing to be paranoid about. Great video overall
Great video! I’m just learning about mushrooms and I live on the west coast, This was really interesting, thank you,
Hello there from Sonoma County !
Did you hanapaa?
Thank you for sharing. Learning something today❤
I knew you were Hilo side😂! I Love warabi. My sweetheart makes it in several things and it’s just… I grub. Thank you for the video. I’m saving it to my favorites. Stay dry.🌺
I have a question are there any Critters in the woods that also eat these mushrooms😊
I love eating them and I love looking at them and I just have to ask you do you ever ask about bears in the area cuz those I don't like🤗
Are you come back in pacific northwest for mushroom?
Great videos. Loved them. What time of year did you do this route?
What manufacturer and model of tent do you have? Is it comfortable for two?
So I love this tent, but sadly I don’t think they make it anymore.. it’s a Sierra designs nightwatch UL2. It fits me and Nat comfortably, and it’s really nice for just one or my dog and I. It’s not the lightest out there but i love the design. It’s got an overhang at the front door and 2 vestibules, 3 doors total, and also has a pouch above head to put your headlamp in for overhead lighting. Anyway, if you can find it, I’ve really enjoyed it. Only downside like i said is it’s not the lightest.
@@BackcountryWahine thank"s! Yeah... 2,3kg it's quite heavy for that modification and it's already eof. Looks like MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2 will be my next tent (1,7kg, full dome).
Well “wow” I have actually done the TMB , it was awesome. I find your videos account of your journey so authentic and inspiring. It’s a more personal experience than others and very realistic with great cinematography and music and beer. Lots of really great information about food, tenting, just a great video experience I wish you all the best for future 🙏🏼
Aw thank you so much! That means a lot to me :) I’m glad you find them so! Anyway thanks again for the lovely comment!
Try not to touch it before you pick it, it’ll come off easier if you catch um by surprise. 1 motion. Good stuff!
Yes sir that Laupahoehoe point my country I miss that place
Amazing video. Thanks for sharing. Sub & 👍146
Go get em, no scade em! You awesome, make everything from scratch
😛 tanks ah 🤙 i try i try haha
Whoa sistah, go get em ah!?!
May I know which map did you use for Alta Via 1? Thank you!
Hey sorry for the late response, it may not be relevant to you anymore but i found that the paper map i bought in town worked the best. I used maps.me at some points, which don’t get me wrong is great especially for a free app, but it gave me an alternative i didn’t like at the end, hence not finishing out the last stretch properly. Albeit that was mostly my fault. And at the time, from what I can remember, my garmin didn’t give me the easiest layout but it may be different now.
Looks great as I envy you just hiking around doing something positive in Hawaii! As A Hawlee I miss your State- the weather, surf and ease of just walking around without Freezing as we do here in the State of Conn.! I ended up marrying a Filipina and have been going back and forth to the Philippines for years but- Hawaii Really is the place to be- so go for it and enjoy!!!
Have you been to a place that gave you vertigo or claustrophobia?
How much food did you bring with you?
Nice seeing how to cooked the Lobster Mushrooms jerk Style. I live in the PNW, but the High Desert area. The west was my grow up area and yes this back packing burners are hot. I like to steam wild grain In a steamer and bring along an EcoFlow Battery to run the steamer. I know not video worthy, but It works so well.
I was about to give up until I found this video tonight. I’m going in September and have been so nuts about trying to book refugios because camping seemed weird and awkward based on each country’s laws and now I know their are actually a ton of camping opportunities along the way. And with camping I can have more flexibility. Thank you so much for this. And I just like your slightly snarky style!
I’m so glad it was helpful! I had the hardest time finding the same info as well, which is why we didn’t end up wild camping. And ha! Ai thank you! 😛 ps. Thanks for the comment!

Your friend Tim did wild camping - no problems..?
12:25 you missed your calling in adult films.
Where is that on oahu that your foraging at because I want to go there lol
Small opihi are illegal to remove. You can only take the big ones.
he was eating bento lunch by chopsticks. awesome
Why you no bite between the eyes to quick kill those buggers?
I was thinking the same thing 😂 They no bite between da eyes?! Da buggah turn white instantly 🐙
Hi, just became your fan and enjoyed watching your adventure in dolomiti. 😊 It's a wonderful place and I feel thankful that I live near by now. Happy trails and keep on smiling!😊 From Corea/Italy, pk
Well done and I've enjoyed your adventure in dolomiti. Happy trails and keep on smiling!😊 pk
What month did you go? Planing on going Mid October not sure if I should plan for that much snow
Mid October can be a great time. Unless there's an unusual amount of early snow the trail will likely be clear to the spring, but watch the weather and high elevation snow
2B-1G-3W for the night camp 😅
Great video! Is this book written in English?
I want to do this next summer. Can you explain how the campsites work? Do they need to be booked ahead of time or can you just hike from point to point and campsites will be available. The logistics is the only thing that scares me about this trip. Thank you, great video.
That looks so good, I'm going to have to try the lobster mushrooms. I have probably seen them but didn't know that they are edible.
Looks good 😊
thanks kai!
Hey aunty it is one of your nephews I really miss you and that look real good
haha of course I know its you Kai-well figured anyway...and thank you! We miss you too already!
I just discovered your video. Omg, i wish i could just fly to another state to go mushroom foraging haha... you're so awesome, i love it! I also love your excitement when you find your mushrooms :) ... subscribed
Haha yes a very lucky perk that Im so grateful for 😄And thank you so much! lol thats pretty much how I react everytime! 😆🤓 Its like finding treasure! Thanks for the commenting and subscribing 😊
Thank you for your videos...I wish I had found your's earlier. We are head out tomorrow and should be on the trail on 7/13/2023; Do you use a go pro? I liked your honesty! Mahalo!
Sorry for the late reply! Sometimes I go MIA for a lil while. Well, youre probably done now? Hope you had a blast! I do use a go pro and my phone, mostly because its the easiest thing to carry with the least commitment 😬
@@BackcountryWahine No problem...Thank you for the response.I wound up just taking still pics with my phone, since I was in survival mode. Happy trails..
I am going there in a month. Do you need a sleeping bag for camping? How cold does it get at night?
Hey its probably a little bit too late now, sorry for the late reply, but yes I definitely use a sleeping bag. I sleep pretty cold though compared to most. It didnt get too cold, maybe 50s/ high 40s? (F) but I dont remember exactly. I do know I wouldnt have been happy if I didnt have a bag. My bag on this was a feathered friends 10 degree..but again, I sleep cold. Hope that helps some! Have a great time!
Written ingredient list? please 🙏🏾 I saw garlic clove, cilantro, chalets?, whipping cream, linguine
Your trek looked amazing! I’ll be doing it this summer and your videos have been tremendously helpful in setting my expectations. Would you happen to remember the name of the refuge/area you stopped at around 4:00 into the video?
Aw great to hear! Hmph maaaaan that one might stump me a little bit.. I will ask the rest of the group to see if anyone remembers. I just remember it being a restaurant, I didnt even think about it being a refugio honestly. Ill try to find out! :)
@@BackcountryWahine No worries! I’ll be sure to keep my eyes peeled between Bonatti and La Fouly. Hopefully I recognize it while I’m there :)
Put knife under shell before you touch it
Thank you so much for making this video. Much needed as it shows where to set up tent each night legally, if I couldn't book certain refugios and still wanted to thru-hike the TMB over 10 days. Kind of late for me, but for next year.
Im so glad it could help! So yeah, some of the spots are free camp set up while others we still had to pay ..and we did them all on the spot. No pre booking, because our trip was very last minute as well. Happy trekking!
