I was about to give up until I found this video tonight. I’m going in September and have been so nuts about trying to book refugios because camping seemed weird and awkward based on each country’s laws and now I know their are actually a ton of camping opportunities along the way. And with camping I can have more flexibility. Thank you so much for this. And I just like your slightly snarky style!
I’m so glad it was helpful! I had the hardest time finding the same info as well, which is why we didn’t end up wild camping. And ha! Ai thank you! 😛 ps. Thanks for the comment!
Well “wow” I have actually done the TMB , it was awesome. I find your videos account of your journey so authentic and inspiring. It’s a more personal experience than others and very realistic with great cinematography and music and beer. Lots of really great information about food, tenting, just a great video experience I wish you all the best for future 🙏🏼
Thank you so much for making this video. Much needed as it shows where to set up tent each night legally, if I couldn't book certain refugios and still wanted to thru-hike the TMB over 10 days. Kind of late for me, but for next year.
Im so glad it could help! So yeah, some of the spots are free camp set up while others we still had to pay ..and we did them all on the spot. No pre booking, because our trip was very last minute as well. Happy trekking!
Great watch. Your vid on the AV1 helped me immensely in preparation for doing it myself last year. Looking to do Tour du Mont Blanc this year so you've helped again! Keen to see where the next hike is for you guys.
Your trek looked amazing! I’ll be doing it this summer and your videos have been tremendously helpful in setting my expectations. Would you happen to remember the name of the refuge/area you stopped at around 4:00 into the video?
Aw great to hear! Hmph maaaaan that one might stump me a little bit.. I will ask the rest of the group to see if anyone remembers. I just remember it being a restaurant, I didnt even think about it being a refugio honestly. Ill try to find out! :)

Thank you! Haha nooo Im am not fancy at all! I just use my Iphone and my gopro. Ive thought about carrying an actual camera, but then I dont want the weight! 😆 Maybe the shot you think Im using a gimbal is the one where we eating at the refugio? Thats Tim's fancy camera work using his arm 😆Maybe in the future Ill think about the upgrade!
@@BackcountryWahine No, just generally there doesn't appear to be a lot of bouncing around, so good work on the hand holding! This inspires me to just get out there, and just shoot some stuff with my iPhone as is. Thanks again & Safe and fund adventuring!
@@johnperkins5450 Thats a relief to hear! GoPros are pretty good about being steady and I try to hold my breath when Im using my phone 😆Its mostly cause Im too lazy to break out my tripod lol. But yeah! Its a good starting off point I think and doesnt take much investment! Thanks for the nice comments and happy trails!
