I think this is a poor video...... there are different types of oil that are 5w30......it doesnt mean you can just buy any old 5w30 oil and stick it in your engine

I added too much oil in my home generator that caused the dip stick to jump up and let oil splutter over the engine. The smoke was awful! When I drained the excess oil, the engine would click but no longer start. I cleaned the oil in the carburattor bay and tried the two finger poke, without success. Anything else I can try?

hi david ive had a 15 plate 208 for a year now its only a 1 litre engine. ive worked out that it usess 3/4 litre of 0w oil a month. i dont do excessive miles. is this excessive for a car like this? Im concerned about this but some say it can be modern engines.

I have a 2018 Volvo XC60 from USA, 2.0, 310HP Manufacturer on it’s website recommends 2 types of oil 1. If I search by my VIN, or year+date it states: Fully synthetic engine oil of at least ACEA A5/B5 - SAE 5W-30 Or Volvo's VCC RBS0-2AE/SAE 0W20 oil is recommended for extreme conditions. 2. If I search by engine name (B4204T27) it states: Castrol Edge Professional V 0W-20 or VCC RBS0-2AE 0W-20 I have 3 questions: A) What does volvo mean by extreme conditions? B) When volvo states it needs “RBS0-2AE” - can I translate it to European ACEA C5? C) Which oil and why should I pick? I live in Poland where temperature ranges from -25 Celsius to +30 Celsius

I have a Ford F150 platinum 2009 super few 4*4 all I ever run is10w30 Castro highmilaage! An its running strong still I only recommend Castro products my wife's car 2010 Prius an its still like new nothing major done to either one!

I used the pump from an old shampoo bottle and just taped a drain pipe on to it making the join air tight. Worked perfectly. The advantage over the syringe was that you can hold and pump with one hand while holding the drain pan with the other.

Have thought about using this method but have been worried the draining tube may get stuck some how . Is there any chance of that happening ?

I've used this since the last oil change in my 2017 Husqvarna 701 enduro. I've done about 3000km around Spain and Portugal and it ran fine, but has burnt more oil than ever before. I've used the correct 10w-50 4stroke fully synthetic (JASO and MA-2 T903) engine oil but this time used the Castrol Power 1 Racing oil. Is it known to be thinner or burn off more, because it does seem that way? The terrain was fairly challenging in places but the riding temperatures weren't excessive? It's a bit odd.

I put some synthetic car oil in my Yamaha 1200 recently. Only because that is what I had left in the garage. Well after 150 miles; 1. The clutch doesn’t hold, it slips when I really lean into the throttle. 2. The gearbox now has an annoying howl at highway speeds. Just picked up some cheap, but motorcycle specific oil. Will be changed out tomorrow. So yes, I concur - do not put car oil in your motorcycle ; unless perhaps your mb is low power

What nonsense. 5W-30 is supposed to have 6x lower viscosity in winter on a cold engine than on a hot engine at 100°C?

It can be very dangerous to use oil additive as you are doing. I will tell you the truth. In the normal oil, there is an additive package that has been carefully put together by experts after a lot of research. When you add an oil additive, it can often destroy the oil additive that is in the normal oil so it does not work so well. And the two oil additives can start to work against each other and become unstable. This can damage your engine. Too much of a good thing can quickly become a bad thing. I used cooking oil in my enginbe. Nothing happened to it. in fact it fueled it to the sea side . Nice family day out !!!!

Between F and L ? That’s crazy. Full is at F. If the engine uses some oil you can be save at “between” F and L. Just fill it up to F, and a little to much doesn’t hurt your engine. It’s actually realy hard to mess up your engine with to much oil. Couse you need to fill it up all the way. And then you pored Liter to much in it. And that will never happen. As long as there is enough room for the oil to move. Then you never blow up your engine. It’s mostly over reacted. So a little over Full, no problem. Poring another Liter in. Then it’s questionable 🤨.

I don't know about any extra power, but I've tried many oils on my air/oil cooled gsxr, both power 1 and power 1 racing make my gearchanges really slick, so I keep using them.

i use diesel engine oil in my kawasaki with no problem. I do not listen to mechanic.
