Hot tip for oil home mechanics on old cast aluminium engines be very careful with the torque setting as old aluminium does weaken with age . Tight and a slight nip should do well.

A couple of things there if I may say from someone who has done more oil changes than the mechanic in the video has had probably hot dinners. Firstly you need to run the engine for more than 2 minutes to warm up the oil to both flow freely enough and take with it any impurities, at least 5 minutes would be better. Secondly when you fill the engine with fresh oil put in nearly the required amount specified and then run the engine for say one minute, stop the engine then wait one minute to check the oil level and top up as required to the level indicator mark. Thanks

With multi grade oils, the oil is less viscous when cold.
So why run the engine first?
You're actually giving any contaminant particles a run round the engine, whereas they would tend to have fallen to the sump over the time it has been standing still.
