I thought the first question was about your hair 😂
The Sunday sweater looks amazing and the green looks great on you!! I’m a beginner knitter and so far I’ve only knitted a raglan and I choose the Sunday sweater because I wanted to know how to do knit a sweater in the round. I’m so lost though. I don’t understand beginning of pattern. It says work the neck edge “Work 8” what does that mean? Hope you can help a super beginner like me. Haha. Thank you!!
I have only just found your podcast and have enjoyed catching up on the latest 3. My Grand daughter is pregnant with her first baby so I am getting idea of the kind of things to knit for her. I shall be going back to watch more of your earlier podcasts now.
What a lovely podcast! Dear Karoline, I wish you (and your family) all the best in this wonderful and changing time. Do what you feel is best, in your own time. You will change, as will probably the podcast for a while. Greetings from Northern Germany, Luisa
Cardigans are your friend! I found that even when I got back to pre baby weight, my body shape was very different than it used to be. Enjoy your time with baby when she arrives!
How lovely that you will welcome your daughter soon. Hope all goes well. I’ve made a particular baby pants pattern for many of my friends’ grandkids and it absolutely awesome and fun to make (especially the short rows for the butt!). It wasn’t around when my daughter was younger so I wasn’t able to make her any but if they had the pattern for adults-I’d definitely make it for myself! It’s the Rocky pants by Tin Can Knits. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the well wishes and recommendation ❤️
I took a break from knitting and came back to your videos and CONGRATULATIONS! :) Had a quick thought about the Peer Gynt bleeding - do you think maybe it was one bad skein that had some residual dye left? Just thought that might explain why your swatch didn't bleed but the finished garment did. Is the bleeding worse in some parts of the garment than others? Might explain it! Anyway - again, CONGRATULATIONS! :)
Thank you ❤️ Could be! I reckon it could also just be I left it too long 🙈 They are all the same dye lot.
@@KarolinesKnits Still looks beautiful! :)
thank for a entertaining hour with you, good luck on the baby. I love your Inge Sweater, and have just ordret yarn in exact your colors. It was quite interesting to "meet" a danish in scotland - my oldest friends from childhood (from DK) altso live in Edinburg and Scottish married :-)
Awww it’s so lovely to know that other people are inspired by your choices! It’s a small world - there’s more Danes in Scotland than I expected 😊
Having different projects on different floors and rooms is very relatable. Though I’m not pregnant I recently moved into a three story house and had some problems with my back. So you really don’t want to forget your project upstairs. So instead I started placing knits evenrywhere 😂
Three floors sound like the dream for having projects everywhere 🤣
Your sweater is quite stunning. The bleeding I hadn’t noticed until you mentioned it but it does seem to add some depth to the pattern with the pink «halo» and centres. Yes Norwegian yarns do smell «sheepy».
Luckily dry there is no sheep smell 🙈🤣
Wishing you a safe delivery😊
Ønsker dig alt det bedste med den lille nye og en dejlig orlov 🩷
Tak Connie ❤️
Thanks for sharing your knits! Hope everything goes smoothly with welcoming your little one ❤
Beautiful knitting projects 💙🤍❤️
I hope you get some time to rest before baby comes! Lovely projects as always. In case you didn’t know sostrene grene are opening a shop in Livingston, not sure when it opens but I’m looking forward to having a look when it does
Oh my god no way that is SO exciting!!!!!!!
What a lovely episode ❣️ I wish you and your family only the best with the little one arriving soon ❤️ i loved all the baby knits you made. I know i will come back to your videos when i‘m about to have kids for inspo🤭
Thank you so much! 🥰 I’m hoping to do more of a round up of what we used in the future and what I wished I’d made - there’s a few of those videos out there but don’t think there can be too many!
Cute FOs! Was sorry to hear your frustration with the waistband. When I have a folded hem I use JMCO (Judy's magic cast on) to create live stitches on both sides, knit the length needed, then bring the 2 ends together and k2tog from front and back needle across the whole round and continue on. I hope that makes sense, and might be useful if you need it in future. All the best for your family's new adventures!
That’s actually how I tried to do it 🙈 I think I just didn’t find quite the right way to have the resting stitches, I just couldn’t get a flow going it all got too tight. I have done toe up socks before but not anything fingering weight where you’re not working all the stitches. I’m just not great with tiny needles!
@@KarolinesKnits Oh, sorry for being patronising then!🤐 Some days I find the yarn/needles just choose violence
Best wishes for an easy labor and a comfortable recovery!
The outfit for baby is adorable! Well done! Good luck with your new baby (and the pup is adorable)! I have the Sari Nordlund sweater in my favorites; it was good to see it in grey with black colorwork!
Thank you so much 🥰 Fayla did show herself from her cute side today. My contrast colour is actually a very dark navy (my fault for bad lighting!) but I think it’d be stunning with black.
I love your idea for having things CO and there for you to work on and pick what you want to do when you get a chance. Fantastic 💙 I have lots of health issues and have usually been a monogamous knitter. I think I might incorporate this thought into my life little by little and see how I get along with it. I hate when I want to knit, have the time, feel like it, but not at a point that I can necessarily concentrate on it so much. I definitely need more variety. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this, I greatly appreciate it!
I’m so glad you can relate ❤️ I have surprised myself by how much I’ve enjoyed it as I’m usually so much a one or two project person but it’s been great to be able to switch things up. I’ve enjoyed casting on when I’ve had the energy and desire to do it, not when I’ve desperately needed something to work on.
When I was expecting almost 30 years ago now my dr explained to me that a pregnant woman's body is working as hard as a mountain climber or marathon runner except all the time... No wonder we get so tired! You are so close to the end of the race 💙 So excited for you!
I do sound like a marathon runner most of the time 🤣
Hi Karoline, so many nice projects I am looking forward to.......no rush at all😅 you look beautiful in your sweater. I love "sostrene grene" for knitting accessories, because it is very inexpensive. Might have to look for more online😂 I wish you all the best for a safe birth❤ enjoy your maternity leave
It’s a dangerous place 🙊🤣 Thank you ❤️
I love that Lumme sweater😍 And it might look great with short sleeves (like the half-sleeve you’ve already done). I find short-sleeve sweaters surprisingly useful. Just a thought :) Good luck with the baby and see you on the other side!
I’m too cold for short sleeves 🤣🤣🤣 Even in pregnancy I’m not running very warm - I wear woolly sweaters year round even in summer. I like the look of it on other people but conscious it wouldn’t be worn compared to other sweaters with long sleeves ❤️
Congratulations, Karolina, may you have a safe delivery 🚚 in Jesus Name.
So excited for you to meet your baby girl 💖💖💖 it’s such a sweet time.
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Love the wip parade! And I'm super inspired to make a Inge Sweater myself now 😍 Good luck and enjoy your little one! 🥰
Thank you!! 😊 It’s a really fun project
Such a lovely episode full of beautiful wips! I hope everything will go as smoothly as possible for you in your "fourth trimester". I always make faux pearl stich seam in striped/colourwork projects. The simplest and most efective way to make it look quite nice and helps with diagonal twisting a little bit too. Do you find it worth a try to experiment with more advanced methodes?
Oh that’s interesting, I’ve not heard of that before. To be honest I rarely experiment because I quite like following patterns - even as I become more of an “advanced” knitter I rarely get the itch to make major changes besides maybe changing the length of ribbing or the body.
Hi Karoline, so lovely to catch up with you! Your projects are beautiful. I am usually a 1 to 2 projects person but 37 weeks pregnant I find myself casting on a lot of things too because I don’t like beginning projects, so I’ll be happy that they are ready to go! Always thought that that was not super common 😅 I am glad I am not the only one. Love what I see of your red Rauma Fivel, would you say it’s a cool or warm red? I always find hard to tell on screen when I a ordering yarn. I also want to knit the jacket n°2 in red and was planning on using KFO merino and silk mohair in red currant but… I am not keen on knitting with mohair around a newborn… Enjoy your maternity leave ❤
Is this nesting for knitters, casting on all the projects?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Good question about the colour…. I think it leans ever so slightly cool/blue toned but not overly so. It’s a very true red in real life.
@@KarolinesKnits ok thanks!!! Yes I think it might be a form of nesting indeed 😂
So many exciting wips! Wishing you all the best with the little one arriving soon, hope you manage to have a bit of restful maternity leave before then
So many lovely projects! Best of luck with the little one!✨
Loved the podcast and all your wips. I also usually cast on only up to three projects at a time because I'm not good at splitting my attention between projects😅. All the best for your maternity leave. Your baby will be wearing the most beautiful knits!
Thank you ❤️ hoping I can squeeze in a few more baby knits before she outgrows them all!
well done Karoline, all the best for your upcoming baby adventure 💕love your Inge sweater!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Oh I absolute love the idea of this video! Three pieces that I would definitely remake for a new wardrobe are my Zipper Sweater in a dark neutral color, my Sweater No. 15 (I love that so much!) and then a light neutral April Cardigan ❤
These are all on my list to make - think they’d definitely be the types of sweaters to make the cut for a version 2 🥰
I love cardigans. I'm working on my first one now.
I'm watching this in 2024 It's never too late 😅 maybe in this year's video you can film it at eye level angle, because this low angle is not the best to really see how these clothes fit . I look forward to your Everything I knit in 2024 video 😁
Great podcast!! ❤ I want more cardigans in my wardrobe! Possibly the Eva cardigan by Petiteknit will be next! I was just thinking of you this morning and I wanted to tell you that I’m praying for your baby girl’s birth to go well and that you have a speedy recovery 💕💕💕💕Take care of yourself 💕
That is cute.
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️ The Eva Cardigan is a great knit. The shoulder construction was new to me and a lot of fun!
@@KarolinesKnits 🥰🥰🥰
I would only knit new patterns! With Seul blouse first. Maybe some time in I would re-do Badger and bloom in drops air because it's fast and cheap😅
What a fun video. I’m actually in the process of re-knitting some of my sweaters because I’ve lost weight. The Porty Pullover is my all time favorite color work sweater to knit and I’ve made either 6 or 7 of them, one for myself (which I’ll be re-knitting) and the others were all gift. The other one I’m definitely re-knitting is the Felix cardigan. I’ve just finished a Felix pullover for a trip to New England. I’ve got plans to make a Lume by Sari Nordland although I’ve never made any of her patterns. I’ll definitely be re-knitting a few of my Isabell Kraemer patterns since she is one of my favorite designers. Thanks for the thoughtful video!
That sounds like a great list! I’m making the Lumme Pullover just now and this far it’s been an enjoyable easy knit.
The wee knits from your leftover yarn are just adorable.
Thank you ❤️
This is a super useful video, thank you!! Truly this is what we should all focus on more. My most worn is definitely my over sized drop shoulder, it's the 1031 sweater by ozetta. And various hats and socks 😅 but ive been looking to do some knits in your other categories so this was super helpful ❤
Glad it was helpful! I think it’s easy to get caught up in new all the time and not actually what we wear
Please give yourself one big hug from every single person who left a positive comment anytime someone unthinkingly leaves a comment which you can interpret as critical. You will be so busy you will soon forget any discomfort. We’re happy you choose to share what you do.
Hi Karoline, i enjoyed knitting through yoour podcast, thank you very much!
Thank you so much, now i have some great ideas❤ i would make the paul cardigan for the dressed up bit in black, i am now making a tenane v neck sweater by caidree, cause i was just starting to make my capsule wardrobe so i can still switch with good ideas
Thanks so much for the recommendation. Making a capsule wardrobe is a great idea - might be what I’ll do if my body changes a lot after baby is here
Great to see you again. I would knit the Peggy sweater by Lene Holme Samsoe in De Rerum Natura Candide. Love the pattern and the yarn. I would also knit the Louvre sweater by Petiteknit again. Love the patten but would choose a different yarn next time. Happy knitting.
I love the look of the Louvre sweater and have considered making it before - it has such a cool relaxed fit. I’ve not heard of the Peggy sweater before, I’ll look it up!
Fun idea!! I think mine would be the no frills sweater. I've knit it in different gauges and wear them all the time. Also the Cozy Classic Light. Such a great fit. I've made multiples of that one too. Love a simple raglan!❤
Can’t go wrong with a simple raglan 🥰 I’ve heard lots of people loving those two patterns!
Hi Karoline! Such an exciting time for you and love all these knits. Baby will be arriving soon and you must be getting excited ❤❤. I absolute LOVE the sweater you are wearing. Stunning on you!
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️ time is flying!
My number one to remake would be my Sweater no 15 and I need to make another one. I found it a great video to make me think about what I would knit again ☺️
Thank you ❤️ I loooove no 15 and have wanted to make it since it came out. I do think I might do the cardigan version instead though for practicality.
@@KarolinesKnits maybe that is what I need to do too! ❤️
I'm so sad to hear the criticism you've received. I've been watching your channel for a while and have knit a few patterns based upon your feedback. You are lovely and make lovely things and I enjoy your content!
Thank you so much! ❤️
You are the only one who can decide what you share or not. Your family is now more important than youtube❤ first baby and you and Ben. Some people think they can say whatever they want and i hate that so much at social media.
It is a really negative part of social media, but I’m thankful that for a lot of things I’m fairly spared compared to others I know. It’s easy to forget there’s a real person behind the screen when you leave a comment.
@@KarolinesKnits yeah exactly behind a screen people be rude all the time, my grandma always said when you cant say something nice dont say it at all.
