What's It Like Returning To EVE Online After A Decade!

What's It Like Returning To EVE Online After A Decade!
I just reactivated again after a 10 year break. So much has changed. Every change has been perfect. Even the Cyno change...
the fuck is this
The only end game is not playing.
Center for Advanced Studies.
I wanted to and made several seperate attempts to get immersed in this game. Sucks cause it really is a beautiful game and I really like the mechanics, not to mention the player driven economy. But somewhere in between the excitement of learning the basics and fully committing to a corp, it seams to get very shallow, just a lot of grinding isk at the same copy paste pois (for what exactly I'm not sure), and watching the skill timer tick away. I'm sure I'm missing something, it's got it's reputation for a reason, but it's not for lack of trying on my part.
If you love yourself Don't play Eve, other wise I see you in Eve <3
Hey man! I'm loving all your content, you've got a great style. It's a shame EVE isn't that big of a game and therefor you're not getting a big amount of views. I'd love to see more of your content, regardless! You're my favorite EVE content creator. :)
Would definitely be interested to hear how you got on in brave
Where have you gone?
I started the game in 2006 (I still have the CD that comes with the game back then), and I must say I am grateful to EVE University for being such a great place to learn the game via hand-holding.
omg that was a great video ! Who is Bob ! Epic ! Eve is like starting a new job ... Headaches for a few weeks for sure !
I am just an on and off player for the past 4 years. Just making ISK now as a therapy because I can't make 1.5M USD per day.
Idk why pvp in this game is far more intense than any of the pvp-centric games i played, it actually feels like you're gonna lose a real life spaceship if you lose lol
eve is a truly open and free game in just about every way. theres no wrong way to play it. and thats what i love about it. i dont feel like i wasted my time mining veldspar in highsec because i know that stuff is in high use and itll always get sold and *someone* will get some use out of it
Looking bac kthe 1vs1 he probably didnt warp out hoping to kill you first. You were at half armor at some point and mby he hoped to hit before you rep.
10 year vet here. I endorse everything said here. If I were to add to it: Your going to be a noob for years. YEARS. This is a game with no ceiling. No matter how much time you put in the game, you will never do everything. Your life is not long enough. Spend the first couple of years of your Eve Career testing and playing with different activities and let yourself gravitate to doing things that reflect who you are as a real life person. Doing something in Eve that is not natural to you in life will mean you wont enjoy this game. But if you find yourself in Eve, that activity will personally feel rewarding and will be very addictive as you will min/max your natural talents. Talents that you might not know about yourself as your not applying them in the Real World. Remember, this game has no 'Meta', everyone finds their own Meta. Find yours and trust that you are among not many others like you that are really good at that thing while 95% of the rest of Eve players are 'bad' at it. Find your niche and Eve is great. But it may take years to find it. So be it. Give it a try.
Loved your video. I just started myself in FW and did my first sites. Exciting and had not even thought about using overheat lol. I learned something. Lol😅
I just returned again for the first time in a long time. Last time I tried Eve, I joined, made a character and basically did about 6 missions for the agents and then just never had the time to play. Now that I have a little more time I’ve just returned and made another fresh character even though my other character has an age of 17 years and 5 months ago. I wanted to actually take the time and learn the game, and like you have been thinking about joining a corp since I have no friends that play Eve. Unfortunately, I keep running into a lot of videos and comments complaining about how life in a corp is. I don’t want a specific role either, I would just like to hang out and chill with people, ask questions when I need help or info and not feel like I’m asking a stupid question. Help others with knowledge once I’ve had enough time to learn it myself, and just have fun like the way I felt back during my Starwars Galaxies days.
Angular velocity is not parallel to the target, it's orthogonal to the target,
I'm in a corp of my own, have 3, and I find its much easier then when you join a corp and just pay tax. A good corp will make the tax worth paying. If you don't think your getting value out of the tax in the corp your in, your probably in a bad corp. A good corp had LEADERSHIP. It has GOALS. That means you need to find a corp that has goals you have with the leadership to make sure its being done effectively. But in the end, most people don't take goal setting to seriously. Its we do <everything>. 99% of all corps are not good corps at all except if its yours as you reap the mechanical options and benefits that can only be had by controlling it.
Great video
My end game is being able to crab rat in a dreadnaught or carrier one day
Yeah, not doing that.
Eve > Earth
Just stumbled upon you, BE. Lucky me! Liked and subed.
BF. Sorry
Im gonna respectfully disagree with your take on the dailies, they are something i dont even think about, and that extra 10k sp is great for newer players to catch up faster with veterans like you were saying was a great thing about buying skill injectors. And the activities are generally stuff you would be doing everyday anyway, like killing npcs, etc. And if you are losing sleep over 2mil isk and 10k sp then the issue isnt the game design lol
The endgame is when you realize that you are wasting your life playing this game and decide to return to the real world... 💥
How do you afford your ships? I tried FW as a new bro and lost all my frigates from the career missions and now I’m down to 60k isk. I can’t get a single kill, I can’t get any LP. I can barely do level 1 missions in my corvette and it will literally take me a week of grinding before I can afford and fit a frigate again. This is so frustrating
It didn't change for the better especially after Pearl Abyss bought it from CCP and started their monetization agenda... 💥
I'm new like you
Very nice video:) currently returning to Eve (again hah!) and your video lays out nicely the struggles some players can have with joining a corp...especially what to expect in a very conversational style....without needlessly getting into the nitty gritty.... well done sir:) Thank you!
uninstall is the best option
I came back to eve after a 10 year break. My buddies haven’t logged in for years… just gonna play solo in our corps and hope they come back. Still a director with access to do just about anything I want so there’s that.
shame rvb isnt around anymore. that was the place to be for any new bro that didnt want to deal with this shit
1. Uninstall 2. Play something else. 3. Don't be a whale. Note: You ONLY have to follow the first rule.
Join larger, older corporations. You usually learn more there because you can draw from a wealth of experience. Moreover, these companies typically have established structures in place; otherwise, they would have likely dissolved years ago.
The daily login is just fine. Not sure your negative view in it makes any sense.
jo basicaly anything u can do in any other mmo lol
Best thing about eve is there is no endgame. You can be a miner from day 1 or day 15000. You can pvp in a frigate day 1 or year 12.
:) <3
you don’t need to use t2 ammo with shittier tracking for t2 guns
Don't stop doing videos, my guy.
Hey Buck, few things from a CEO's perspective to prospect newer players: * EVE is a pain when it comes to advertising your group, and stats aren't always 100% accurate for activity and such, so things tend to be quite contried when it comes to getting the actual facts * Your best bet unfortunately is a voice chat with the corporation you're interested in, I've been a "CEO" since 2013, started with some friends, and we're still going to this day, so that should tell you a bit about our success as an organisation, and the leadership structure, doesn't mean we're perfect, we're very open about critique and ensuring we're your reason to log in. * When you get to chatting with folks via voice that'll be the best opportunity to feel them out and see if you think "hey I can talk to these dudes about random stuff for a while, or they seem like fun" are the things you wanna get squared away when on comm's, so that you have a decision to make about your options. * In terms of ESI stuff, and folks checking you out, it's unfortunately a hassle because EVE's pool of actual recruits is so low that they assume everyone is out to screw them, and having that mentality is the result of your experience, unfortunately, not much can be done about that until CCP decide to fix their game, but I doubt that'll happen. * What I find best to learning the games mechanical knowledge is having a bustling community that is always down to do "stupid shit" on a regular basis, it's the best teacher in understanding how things work, and it's one thing we all log in for, memories and great vibes. If you're still reading this and think "hey they sound alright", feel free to check us out, we're called *Dystopian Angels* in game, and this is also our youtube channel, where you'll have all our links and such to make things easier. To anyone else that's quite new, don't be put off by the ESI stuff, think of it as a verification that you're you, and as for finding a group you like, follow the above advice, and hopefully you find your way to a group that cliques with what you want, I hope you make good memories, and hopefully I see you in the space ways and we *punch each other in the face* (it's how we say hello in EVE).
I stopped playing when skill extractors became a thing. It ruined the game in my opinion. Age of an account used to actually mean something. Now you can find week old characters flying around ships that used to take a year to train for.
more stuff. i love watching other capsuleers talk about their journey through New Eden.
Like the video a lot. Great summary of past events and adding the capsuleers into the timeline was nice to hear us be in the history. Been playing since 2005. Eve is real.
I got online today and bought a 3 day omega pass for both of my accounts. I haven't been on Eve for about 12 years. One of my characters has 73 million skill points. I could have sworn I had a Chimera Carrier last I played but its gone now. I'm not sure i am going to get back into it or not. Ive been involved with Star Citizen for over 10 years now and things are finally starting to happen there. If I do decide to get back in I will need to find a stable Wormhole Corp to join up with that can handle a re-nooby.
daily things to do is archaic now? that's a joke right lol. The whole anti daily thing is bizarre to me.
And at the same time... its so hard to recruit people into a Corp.... I look around and around, check zkill... write to prospects... and rarely I get to meet someone willing ;)
Love your videos, keep em coming please
