Pray tell, what tickles your fancy? Be it deep dives into forgotten media? Analysis of old books and plays? Mayhaps leftist dissections of politics, praxis, and history? If those interest you, you've come to the right place! But don't expect them all at once, that's a bit daunting.

Do liberals have more in common with Conservatives than socialists? Dennis Prager finally has a correct answer for us today (shocking, I know). Join me as I unpack his usual nonsense and explain why he's ultimately correct about liberals.

What a unique perspective.. never seen this anywhere before.
YOGURT IF YOU HEN
i honestly really enjoyed watching this - i think it should have more views! i really loved your conclusion. i'm all for the idea of thinking less in terms of what's socially "masculine" or "feminine" since it never really encourages lateral thinking. instead it would be better to purely focus on what we want out of the ourselves and the people around us; in doing so creating fewer barriers between ourselves by recognising the values that we possess in common, and those that we collectively wish to achieve together.
Repent or Parrish in a gulag! 😎 Jesus Fck'n Christ lol
damn I had totally forgotten about this show
I can assure you that this show is certainly not forgotten in the UK. It's an all time classic.
Spaced was so good. I love it. This commentary does seem to focus too much on US social justice politics though, for example the supposed sexualisation of Amber. She's literally an adult, as she moves out to live with her boyfriend. But the whole presupposition is a huge stretch anyway. Theyre just acting like young men with their egos about hanging around with *slightly* younger women in and it's never overtly sexual.
It is a masterpiece for anyone young in the 90's for sure. It's also NOT forgotten in the UK at least. Although today's scared of offence culture would never make a show like this now and even the lead Simon peg has gone all progressive and has apologised for parts of this show. So fuck him 😂 Edit: you lie and say it respects pronouns, it does not. People back then hadn't made that nonsense up yet so we had never heard of it. They even call vulvas character a "trannie" at one point and laugh. I think I've realised what kind of channel this is. Sorry I found it. Leave our time alone, it is not for you.
Brilliantly done movie, but i regret watching it. Now I'm afraid to fall in love 😢
Thanks for Woking your way through a tv show from more than 20 years ago. It was all funny at the time but I guess you weren't there,
Neo-liberals make the worst documentaries. Also, no one has forgotten about this show....at all.
Nobody ever talks about this, thank you this is described so well
Anger, pain, fear, aggression... watercolors? 😂❤ Classic
In the UK you are classed as an adult at 16, not 18 like in Murica. And I suppose a 24 yr old dating an 18-19 yr old wouldn't raise any eyebrows.
Wasn’t that Vulva dress in red dwarf
‘Ty-Ree’? Its Tyres. As in the wheels.
This was OUR sitcom. Made by people our age, like us who watched the same stuff we did.
"...theres an edm loving guy called ty-reeee..." its pronounced TIRES!!! 😤
"...well i didnt think that phantom menace was that bad..." now that we have the sequel trilogy neither do we... 😫
All I can say is thank God people like you weren’t around when this originally aired!
I think the reason you feel the exposition is so rushed (and you’re correct) might be because in America comedy shows seem to have about 500 episodes per season lol. Here, particularly in the 80s and 90s, we used to get six episodes per season, seven if you were lucky. I don’t think TV channels were keen on wasting money on something as frivolous as comedy. Especially a brand new unknown show. In fact there’s an older show called “the Young Ones” which has a shoehorned-in live band performance halfway through. The reason for this is that they were then classed as a variety show rather than just a comedy show and were eligible for more funding. It was the only way they could afford to make the show.
I’m not sure how somebody could have watched the show, paid attention to it enough to write a review, yet calls tyres ‘Tyree’. Either they didn’t watch it and are just basing their review off of other peoples reviews and misreading it as Tyree, or they’re not paying attention enough to things to be able to review them fairly.
Wow, you're so hard on them. Lots of people don't have self-reflection when they are that young it takes some big failures and experience. I think both characters are very capable of self-reflection, and perhaps that was the tipping point.. considering this is about the composer's life, this was an actuality, the catalyst of his reflection. And I'm sure that Kathy something similar.
Forgotten by who?
On tubi for free.
i still cant drink a pint of bovril
I did. In little sips. Did not go down easy though.
I get where you're coming from about including people of color, but i disagree with your take a little bit. Their mission statement was to have authentic characters that werent comminly represented, and if you're talking about 2 white people writing about their white experiences, thats waaaaay more authentic than including people of colour from a perspective they aren't familiar with. You're basically asking for trouble at that point, potentially including them in a manner from a totally white washed point of view. I'm not entirely sure every single show absolutely must include different cultures when they haven't been exposed to them. I wouldn't expect a bollywood film or chinese drama to have to include white people for instance.
because a 25 year old man dating an 18 year old is so terribly awful? Jesus Christ people. What world do you live in? How many women here have dated a man in their mid twenties when they were 18? or how many men here have dated an 18 year old? Women dating men five to ten years older than them is pretty much the normal thing from what I've seen my whole life. My dad was ten years older than my mum. How many people have parents with an age gap of around ten years? I bet most of you do.
You are correct, this show is not for contrived people like yourself. They were meant to seem racist, but you don’t understand the national vibe of bush. I think you need to understand the vibe of the country at the moment
This was married with children
Draw wojack yaoi. Got it
I loved That’s My Bush and couldn’t understand why it was canceled. I thought the Republicans found a way to stop it. Same with the cartoon Lil Bush
"One of these days, I'm gonna PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE! AND IN THE STOMACH, AND IN THE FACE, AGAIN!!" 😂😂 Classic sitcom catch phrase!
I will never forget about this show! Shit was hilarious!
i'm afraid im a little like cathy 😅
What this commentator fails to mention is the cultural context of the show and why it's called spaced. It's a mirror to the paranoia of the late 90s and when the disco biscuits were beginning to catch up with people. The surreal shots and gags reflect the psychosis that many had in the post rave days.
Italian Americans who defend this guy sicken me that's like if German Americans defended and celebrated Hitler or Spanish Americans defended and celebrated Franco.
Ive seen such, being 66 yrs old, born and raised in South,Ga.Ice been to the migrant camps. No a/c in summer, living in a double wide trailer with post holding up thevroof,as the walls had been removed.Cots side by side lined up everywhere.$10 a day, from sun up till sun down. The summer days are long there, basically treated as my black friends were.Im of native ancestry, told all my life to be proud of my heritage, but, never tell.Where blacks arecopenly called nigger to this day. But,their not prejudice, they say.
The fact I love Simon Pegg, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, the almighty movie, The Boys, but I have never heard about this show:(
You should also lookup the sketch show called big train
@@turtleflipper9935 there’s another one they did called “six pairs of pants” as well, it’s nowhere near as good as big train and spaced, but it’s nice to see where they started from.
@benwinter5295 allot of big train were on my personal fave Jam Mark heap as Mr lizard kills me everytime
@@turtleflipper9935 Oh my God, I used to watch Mark Heap do comedy in the 80s! Lol, he was in a double act called the two Marks. They were on TV now and then 😊 Also Jam is top tier 👍🏽
Agitate,Educate,Organize
Kuato lives. 😂
It got canceled right at 9/11…
Sneed
Tyree? His name is tyres (tires)
Great documentary! However, I read Tim and Daisy's relationship as purely plutonic. And I thought that was ground breaking when SPACED was first aired on British television... Men and women can be best friends without any sexual or 'friend zoning' sub context. <3
BTW not that it makes it any less weird, but age of sex consent in UK is 16 v 18 in the USA - when I was at school I remember 6th form girls dating goons in their 20s.
