Comparing Heathers Riverdale vs The Rock River Repertory Theatre Company! Enjoy =)
Carrie: Riverdale vs REAL production of Carrie
มุมมอง 312K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Riverdale did an episode where the "students" did a production of the musical Carrie, so, I wanted to compare it myself to one of my favorite productions of it (The Balagan theatre production in Seattle) instead of comparing to the original Off- Broadway production.
It’s a shame that I knew Aaron tveit only from gossip girl 😳
Rent deserves a second chance
I mean, does Gaten Matarazzo count as a celeb on Broadway when his entire career only exists because he was on Broadway in the first place?
Definitely the stage performances.
Musicials suck
I can appreciate the talent but they're so cringe
WHY DOES MY HEART CRYYY🗣️
My life's greatest regret is not seeing Ramin and Sierra live
Hunchback is criminally underrated. Its the greatest musical of all time.
Brendan absolutely crushed that it was so good😭
Okay, but where is Cynthia Erivo's "I'm beautiful.... yes I'm beautiful.... AAAAAAAAAND....... IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'M......... HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeheehehehheheheheahehaeaehadjfsadmsabfyasdjaoisdjajdsjaidjoisajdsjisdjiaRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ??????????????????????
Cody Simpson ate tho
Gaten started on Broadway and you can tell
Movies can mnipulate a lot of things that can't be done on stage but that doesn't make it better. Keep in mind stage performers have to do the same thing over and over every night. Movies can edit. And then the characters. Barbra Streisand in Hello Dolly was a distaster. That was Carol Channings role and always will be. OK, I'll stop because there are many others.
2:09 that cough says it all lol
Oh, in case I wasn't clear, Hollywood wins HANDS DOWN!
in the end, there is a factor that cannot be overlooked -- the quality of sound recorded on movie musical soundtracks by its very nature has to saund superior to that heard in live theatre. It is simply impossible to get the technical quality and special separation possible that can be obtained in a recording studio. In cinemas, sound is precisely placed in the correct mix location in the stereo stage. The use of Dolby's Atmos process allow nearly every seat in the auditorium to hear the audio mix as the recording engineers intended. That is never the case in the live theatre auditorium. Just the fact that the orchestra that is recorded for the movie soundtrack can be as large as is needed for the fullest and most robust sound. The orchestra in live theatre is physically located by the space available in the physical orchestra pit in whatever theatre the show is being performed. Especially in most Broadway houses, the orchestra pits are notoriously limited. You can't fit a 150 piece orchestra in most Broadway theatre orchestra pits but you can set up and mic as large an orchestra you want on a Hollywood sound stage. Bottom line, just listen to the clips in this youtube -- the movie tracks are clearer, bigger, with more special width and with the singers placed in distinct positions in the soundfield. This is simply not the case with the stage recording clips.
I like how you show the celebrities first. With nothing to compare it to yet, we can see that a lot of them don’t do bad at all or even do great. It’s just that when we then see their theatre professionals counterpart that it becomes really obvious the difference. Like for jordin, her singing was amazing, but i partly felt like she was still holding back and prioritizing making her singing perfect vs the character that jesse muller had where even if you close your eyes you can hear her crying
Love seeing how by this point rather than stunt cast, Daniel basically switched over to Broadway. Similarly, it's always sweet to see actors like Gaten Matarazzo return to their original home of Broadway.
This is somewhat unrelated but people always say Noah Schnapp looks like Daniel Radcliffe and I never see it but at 14:10 I do actually for the first time
Someone once said Daniel Radcliffe sings like a 70s Broadway star and I have since never been able to unhear him as Chip Zion
I genuinely love how happy Daniel seems to have switched to Broadway. He's really stayed over there rather than film for a while now and seems very happy there
You can't compare stage and film productions when they are shown on a screen ! Film productions are MEANT to be watched on a screen. Stage productions were meant to be seen live !
the Beautiful comparison made me realize Rachael Price from Lake Street Dive would play a great Carole King. That's a stunt casting I would approve of!
For King of New York, I like both versions, however, some of the charm of Newsies on stage is the consistently wrong grammar. The movie didn't have that, and it feels a little wrong to me.
Gaten was doing theatre before tv
Nick wasn’t bad but compared to guy after him I can see what your talking about.
Seeing Colleen Ballinger in this video was such a jumpscare LMAO
HOW is no one talking about joe sugg 😭
aaron tveit me come vei pfv
the fact that nobody is mentioning gaten matarazzo is criminal. his voice sounds phenomenal!
I actually started laughing at 9:45. The difference is just too big edit: 8:53 for comparison
The funny thing is, a lot of what the broadway actors are doing won't work in screen, just like how the screen actors are doing the most to compensate for their lack of stage experience, the theater habits are hard to remove. I mean, we've all seen Dear Evan Hansen the movie and how terribly acted that was.
Broadway actors have the proud and loud voice for the job, celebs don’t.
i think people for get some celebrities are actors . actors that like theater and can sing really good .
Ramin Karimloo in person, whew chile!!! I fell in love with Michael Crawford when I first saw Phantom so many years ago, but Ramin mmmmm. 👌🏽❤️
Newsies in Broadway is the best
CABARET APPRECIATION!!!! :D
I mean, Nick Jonas started on Broadway. I think if he'd been given different direction he'd performed it differently.
Some of the Broadway versions were better with the OBC than the ones here. Also, something about seeing it live makes it better than a recording, like the complete cast belting out One Day More in person gives you chills! Grease movie is much better than the Broadway show by far. Its script is weak, they improved it for the movie.
With every second of Dallas's singing, you can hear the cries of all the unknown but much better-qualified actors who were overlooked.
Someone gets hurt is Renee against Renee basically. And I choose both. 🥲
Omg, the over-acting in most of these Broadway versions is so cringe
Nothing can top Les mis
Gaten did good
Gaten did broadway before Tv :D
The main difference I noticed was eye contact. Broadway actors seem to have a heightened sense of where their audience is at and how to connect to them. How to change eyeline to different sections and when to turn away from the audience as well.
THANK YOU for the timestamps in the desc!! I was literally about to comment asking if anyone knew all the musicals, but I decided to check if u listed them and voila! I super appreciate it not only for me but for others as well💗💗
What is great about Broadway: it’s alive!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎭
It's so much eyebrow acting with the singers. I remember during my musical education I had a separate course learning how not to move my eyebrows even though I was hitting really high notes, you can really determine who's a professional actor by that, they usually only use their eyebrows for dramatic effect not for the singing
Wow I love the Video I just have a few that's my faves.
So i listen to Spotify Terrance mann if i cant love her, Its good but its nothing compared to my high schools beast. Oh. my. god. He made me want to cry every night. I had to change into my wolf costume after be our guest and i didn’t have to be in the wolf scene till intermission but i sped changed so i could watch him do the song. Another high school near us did Beauty and the beast the year after and some people who watched ours before theres said their beast didn’t compare. I think ours (no offense to any other beasts i haven’t seen) was the best ive ever heard
