MashAllah a good podcast. But what i think would really make a difference would be if men also looked introspectively to improve Islamic marriage aswell. The trend now is always woman talking about how to improve a 2 sided relationship which is why it doesn’t work

One problem today is that most people today have looked at so many of the opposite sex that they've acquired preferences. It's one thing to have attraction and another to have preferences and desires for a specific type. And if a man is masculine and a woman feminine, USUALLY this helps. Too many are opposite.

Humility and content go hand in hand. People forget that it all comes from Allah. Every single problem and solution comes from Allah. The problem is that people don't think of this, it doesn't influence their decisions. When you truly consider and think of Allah, it shatters your ego completely. When you approach a person with almost no ego, you can compromise, you will understand the situation by looking into their perspective and a solution to that matter will come with ease. But people want to lie and be lied to. Marriage can't start without the man earning a decent salary or for a woman to be this or that. Getting married in itself is really difficult and when you finally get to that point depending on your culture in the country you're in, determines whether your wedding will be a halal one or one with dancing & music and women not dressed appropriately. So do you expect marriages to last and strive when it starts out with bad intentions, dishonesty and israf? Honesty is another thing, it doesn't take away anything and it brings so much more into anything it touches but people don't want to be honest, people want an edge over each other, people don't want to let go of their egos and they certainly don't care. This video was talking about the right things but to the wrong people. Marriage in Islam is going in a very dark direction and I wish you knew the truth of it, because if you did you'd stop making marriage videos completely, not because you won't care but because their egos, dishonesty, standards and expectations are so great that almost nothing helps them see what being selfless, understanding and caring means. You won't come to realize the truth until it's too late, I hope you come to it soon or maybe you have who knows. To the ones who seek what is right and honesty, know that Allah sees you, He knows the struggles you go through and if He has willed it for you then He will gift you a spouse who will have the same level of honesty and love, that marriage will have its tests but none that will make you question each other, none that will separate you, not the same as the ones people go through now. Through Allah this marriage is very possible, a marriage full of everlasting happiness, that is what Allah gives you when you depend on Him, contentment is ever lasting happiness. He will provide for you both without fail, no matter how little He will provide. The only thing you need to do is believe in Allah and place your trust in Him, everything that He gives you is good for you.

It's not a matter of thinking that you're too good for it for everyone. I wish that when people discussed this topic it would not be so narrow-minded..... There are millions of reasons why some women may not desire polygyny, just as there are millions of reasons why some men do desire it. It is just as okay to acknowledge that it's the man's right to exercise it and it is just as okay to acknowledge that it is a woman's right to not desire it. Why are we acting like there's only one option in either scenario? A man can either choose women who are on board with what he wants or he can choose women who are not and deal with whatever the consequences are of that. It's not so narrow, it's not either choose polygeny or not have a man.... There are plenty of sisters who are joyfully single and they do not feel that they're lacking anything so why are we making this such a big deal? Choose who connects with what you want, it's that simple. There's no need to put on any side down for what they feel they need personally for themselves.
