I mained explo for a brief time back in 2 and I've been thinking about picking it up again but I'm not sure, especially since I just got into painbrush. it looks like fun though so maybe!

I am a huge Explosher main. It is by far my #1 weapon in Splatoon 3. It's definitely more of a support player and not a direct offender, so it's not for those who prefer to be in the center of the action, but having a skilled Explosher user covering the team is always a huge advantage that greatly turns the tide in your team's favor (provided your teammates can hold their own well enough to utilize the many openings you create for them, of course). The key is to focus on assisting your teammates and interfering with the enemies movement by flinging ink in their path to box them in rather than engaging directly. Also, learn to make good use of its Sub, as you'll find those Points Sensors are surprisingly more useful for assisting your allies than you might expect. It is a major ink-consumer, of course, so you definitely want to equip either two main abilities of Ink Saver Main, or one main and at least three subs of it, as well as either one main of Ink Recovery Up or at least three subs. Abilities that fill your Special gauge are great, too, since using your Special instantly refills your ink. I almost always end up as both the #1 Turf Inker AND Splat Assister when using Explosher. It's biggest flaw that you have to watch out for, though, is that if you attempt to attack with it when it doesn't have enough ink remaining, it will still consume whatever ink you had left even though the attack completely fails, so you mustn't even attempt to ink until it's filled enough to get one attack off, or even the little ink you have recovered will be lost and the amount of time before you can attack again gets reset.

It’s one of the easier long range weapons tbh, dont put your self in a risky situation, instead help your teammates from far away who use up close weapons. As somebody who mains long range weapons it’s a pretty mediocre and nooby long range weapon and there are better options especially for beginners who r actually trying to learn aim, but it’s good practice for positioning

I’ve been playing splatfests since the Dark chocolate, milk chocolate vs white chocolate splatfest. I was on team milk chocolate 🍫

I’m just here to have fun on the splatfests. And I’m always stuck between Big Man or Shiver teams. Frye always gets mirror matches. 🪞

I play explo for fun, so here’s some recommendations for more fun. Use the custom. It supports being aggressive. Also, use LDE for management, and special charge for more tank refills. Use stealth jump (like every aggressive weapon) and you can use a main of swim speed for mobility or special charge. If you do a part 2 with custom, I hope my tips help!

I played this weapon for just a little bit in splatoon 2, but it just couldn’t do what I wanted it to so I dropped it

gosh you’re so brave, i can’t play explo for more than one match without getting frustrated lol

I feel like explo has a HUGE learning curve. Especially when you get engaged in a close-range fight (my tactic is to jump and then fire almost downwards at your enemy. You’ll still likely lose the fight though). I feel like Explo is mostly good for Splat Zones (the only one I really play haha). However, Explo matches my play style perfectly!! I can’t aim for crap (I literally cannot play shooters it’s so bad actually), but the large range and paint is pretty good for me. Also, you have to run at least ONE entire piece of gear with Ink usage down (I can’t remember what it’s called), both as the main ability and all 3 slots. That’s just the beauty of the beast. I would die for the Explo though I have 5 starred the regular one and 4 starred custom (I actually don’t think custom’s kit is horrible - it’s really useful for when you get cornered, which happens to me more than I’d like to admit). My main locker body is themed around both Exploshers so when I saw Explosher in the thumbnail I felt obligated to click. Thanks for at least trying out Explo!
