Don't forget how Nintendo also made Splatfests bimonthly instead of monthly, that alone is already killing the fanbase. And the rest of the video is painfully relatable, so agreed on that as well
Yeah, it's scaring away a lot of casual players from the game. The only people sticking around are the people who previously played Splatoon 2 and just a couple of serious players who want to keep going. I always notice this based on the quality of the matchmaking in Splatfests compare to Turf War.
One thing that is killing the European competitive scene in particular is how Nintendo only allows people from the same country to form a team over here.
Oh yeah definitely. It's really annoying, especially in the Nordics where we 1: have really small countries anyway and 2: have had subpar marketing for splatoon. The only country here in the Nordics with a solid splatoon player base is Sweden, and low and behold, Sweden is the only Nordic country that Splatoon was even advertised in. Legit in Denmark there hasn't been a single advertisement on the street or on TV or on TH-cam or anywhere. The only thing I've seen as a promotional event on a Gaming magazines twitch channel which I myself took part in. Yet hopping on the train over to Malmö, Sweden, there were several splatoon 3 ads on the streets of the city, even 2 months after the game's release! (But also the distributor for Nintendo here, Bergsala, really heavily favours Sweden over all other countries ngl. The only ads I've seen for switch games here were pokemon, switch sports, and Mario strikers battle league.)
I think that tricolor needs it's own maps that are properly balanced. I know we don't really have a lore reason for it but we need to have tricolor maps, especially because of the every other month thing with splatfest. Also I recently found out that the game doesn't have real servers (right now at least) and that one switch hosts the other 7 players... why??? Who thought of that?? And who agreed???
Are you new to Splatoon? The peer to peer format, has been a thing from Splat2 (I never got or played 1, so can't comment). I believe it's an absolutely garbage way to run such a popular franchise, and Nintendo are just being cheap and greedy (IMO). I had hoped that Nintendo would improve this for Splat3, but remarkably, it actually got MUCH worse (possibly due to the extra content - such as practise lobbies?). The problem is, that the game is so unique and fun (when it works) that we buy/purchased it anyway! Nintendo doesn't care that their garbage online is a running joke in the Splatoon community, that it's been highlighted by gaming magazines and reviews, and that despite many having purchased the game, it's stopping many from CONTINUING to play it. They have our money anyway. I don't know what action we can take to make Nintendo improve this
@@michelleo8279 I'm not exactly new to splatoon i played the last 4 official splatfest of splat2n, but I am relatively new to the community. I never knew about it being ptp, because it wasn't overly obvious in 2 so I never had incentive to look it up I joked about splat3 being hosted but remembered to make sure I remembered it was "probably overloaded servers" because I assumed that it was normal multi-million popular shooter ip and had servers that just weren't prepared to handle such a big player base from jump so when I learned about it, I was really confused on why we pay $20+ for online. I'm a PS player, so my comparison is gonna be Playstation plus. It's $10 a month for online and free games AND access to permanent cloud data that works even if your plus runs out. For $20 we should at the very least get a functioning online system. Or maybe Sony spoiled me, who knows
Yeah I agree too Tricolor does need its own maps, at least 5 maps and then have those maps on a roulette so that we get a different map each time so that we're not stuck on the same one.
my #7 issue is the drip-fed update system. the last "big update" was actually smaller than splatoon 2's 2017 holiday 2.0 update, only adding 2 new maps and less new clothing gear. it was really disappointing and these updates need to do better in the future to get me and others excited for them.
To be fair to Splatoon 3 if you count the base stages and the same time frame Splatoon 3 has 14 stages (12 inital and 2 added) while 2 had 13 (8 initial and 5 added) and not only that but Splatoon 2 would later only add 2 to 3 maps per 3 months (many of which were just Splatoon 1 maps with no changes). I still think it would be nice to get more of course but its still a fair amount in my opinion. (Plus in year two they added a total of 2 maps while we will, more than likely, at least get 2 maps per season so the total would end up being at least 26 compared to 2's 23 maps). For the clothes yeah I do agree though I feel like they will likely end up with more clothes in total at the end of thr 2 year life span. Really the bigger elephant in the room with this system is the weapon kits because at the rate they're going most kits won't even have a second kit let alone a third (assuming they add 3 new weapons per and 10 new kits weapons) so either they slow down on the main weapons or speed up on the kits per update
@@MineNAdventurer but by the end of its lifespan of 2 years, it'll only have 5 more maps than splatoon 2 had :( the updates need to be bigger and add new modes too
@@hAze_the_shrimp I do agree on that front (though tbh it isn't necessary, just a nice bonus) but I wouldn't be suprised if they do ramp it up over time. Also yeah I do think they should add new modes though they tend to wanna keep their modes with their own unique flair and they dont want to make modes that are map specific so the more they add the more difficult it will be for them.
The game is packed with base game content and the update model here works and the game has great maps and weapons and the updates and patches are in fact very positive. The only game bring drip-fed is overwatch 2
There’s definitely _some_ hidden matchmaking, at least for turf war. It’s not perfect, but most of the time, Timmy isn’t getting matched up against S+ rankers naturally. I played turf on Christmas Day, and I saw only one (1) new player.
In my case I had a team made of beginners. 1 on my team, who did a lovely job holding mid (forgot the stage name but it had loads of art and whatnot) and the rest on the opposing team. I remember coming across the beginner Splatana user looking at the ground trying to ink their feet not knowing the range of the weapon and constantly running out of ink. I thought it was adorable in all honesty. But they were also a threat to our beginner and had to be dealt with accordingly.
When I was in x battle at around 1700 I had 3 games in a row where I got matched against a team with a top 500 player 🙃. No my team did not also have a top 500 player. Yes we got shat on repeatedly and the matchmaking insisted that actually thats a good matchup somehow
I think I had a high freshness on my weapon once and the matchmaking got really tough. I was with a friend and the matches became incredibly sweaty even in Turf. We were questioning a lot of things. I was going crazy with Splash in Splatfests and I guess the game figured I needed to be paired with the sweatiest teams possible lol.
My personal biggest issue is matchmaking. I find if I'm not playing a top tier I can't carry my team if they are bad. I had gone so deep into rank debt that I reset my rank, dropped the splatlings, and mained the gal. It didn't take me long to get back to s plus. Now I just want to play open since series just isn't worth it unless you play top teirs.
How to counter E-Liter: first identify the E-liter on the enemy team, step two, approach the E-Liter when it’s not looking at you and position yourself directly below it, step 3, throw bombs at it until it runs away or dies. Do not chase because it will kill you with ink mines.
When Splat 3 was announced, having only played 2, and no access to my old WII U (cuz I sold it), I was so excited to play Hammerhead and Mahi for the first time. And when I played them in 3, you could not imagine my disappointment. Also, fun fact, in the old trailers, Eeltail and Scorch used to have really good layouts, with a lot of space to move....but now.....yeah. There had to be a major change in design philosophy for them to fuck up this badly.
@@maplemiles3381 Ok chill, but I never said the game was a 0/10 just because of the stages. I never said people were "supporting bad map designs" by buying the game. I also never said "You don't know what good maps are." If you want to have a civil discussion about the maps, sure, but please don't try to get people to think I am an ass when I never said that stuff in the first place. I may have come off as too harsh, which is my bad, but I did not mean to imply that.
My thoughts on how to improve the splatfests: Keep tricolor, as it's the main gimmick of Splatoon 3's splatfests, but instead make the stages that it takes place on be splatfest-exclusive stages like the shifty stations
My thought was to have Shifty Stations for regular battles all throughout. Really is no reason we can't have both. But otherwise will agree that trying to convert a normal stage into a tri-color stage seems a lot more bothersome than crafting a stage with tri-color in mind from the ground up. Making a shifty station that can "shift" between regular and tri-color just seems on brand.
OOo what about this: keep tri color but it only is on old maps like starfish mainstage, that way new players can exsperince the other maps for the first time and old fans can play the maps in splatoon 3. this would also give a reason for Shifty station maps to return aswell(maybe they could be like run down since they havent been played on in a while)
I still remember that infamous Nintendo Japan tweet I believe mid to late 2021 where they were looking for a stage designer for this game. Haunts me to this day :/
While I do agree that Chargers are not 'no skill' weapons and have one of the highest learning curves in the game, at the moment it is just way too easy for them to find favorable positions they don't have to move from. I main Inkbrush and I have to play *extra extra* hard to find favorable positions or routes to help my team. The lack of flank routes and cover sometimes devolves into hoping Ninja Squid can give me enough time to actually approach. Meanwhile, an E-Litre hasn't budged for the entire match from their perch and there's just no easy way to stop them without using a Wail, but that probably won't kill, nor will it stop them from just getting back on it when they respawn. Often times I have to depend on Wail to superficially give me 'cover' so I can rush down mid to start being useful. This also applies to Hydras and Crabs spammers too. A flanking Inkbrush should be scary to a Charger and make them think twice about their positions but at the moment it isn't. Right now, most of time, (in SoloQ) the only counter to a Charger is another Charger with better aim, but matchmaking doesn't always garuntee that.
@@RavenNo.5 I never said a weapon had no skill? Maybe its my poor choice in words but I said 'Chargers are *not* 'no skill' weapons and have the highest learning curve'. Me just said it's just that its too easy for Chargers to find favorable positions compared to an Inkbrush due to map design. But I do agree with you though (aside your Animal Crossing jab), every weapon, even very gimmicky/cheese ones like Clash or Bloblobber, takes a degree in skill to play, especially at higher levels. Most weapons are easy to play and hard to master. Also I never said I couldn't counter a Charger as an Inkbrush, just that I have to work for it much harder than a Charger does to find a good perch, though it depends on the map and gamemode. For example, a good Charger on Tower Mahi Mahi can effectively can lockdown mid. There are no flank routes or much for me to counter that Charger and they are free not to worry about their position, I'd have to waste a Wail to move them or hope someone else can. Alternatively, I have a much easier time on Rainmaker Flounder because there are routes that hide me from snipe points. At the moment, there are just too many map that favor sniper perches and not flank routes or cover. In a perfect world, Charger would have to be equally worried about a flank from me as I am about getting sniped. And being a person who favors a weapon literally built for flanking, I do feel this favortism a lot sometimes. To be clear, I have about 400 hours on Inkbrush now (and got S+), so I do know a little about the game by now methinks.
Another way Nintendo is killing Splatoon 3 is with its bizarre 2-year timespan. The same thing happened with Splatoon 2, and not everyone had a Switch yet and none of the Switch revisions came out by the time Splatoon 2’s final Splatfest took place. The exact same trend is happening with Splatoon 3. Once the Final Fest happens in 2024, Splatoon 3 is done. On to Splatoon 4 on the next-gen console. Nintendo better address these issues before we reach the deadline.
something weird ive noticed too is that if i go to ranked and pick stamper, 9 times out of ten ill either have a stamper on my team or the enemy. when i switch to cjr, now theres a cjr. it only seems to match u up with/against weapons that are similar to yours
“They need to bring back The Reef.” That’s all you needed to say, really. Some great points, definitely. I’m a casual player, just here for some fun. I main mostly short-range quick splatters including Sploosh-O and Tri-Slosher but also enjoy time with the Hydra Splatling, having recently picked it up. Playing this like a charger, it quickly became apparent that some Splatoon 3 stages are quite a bit too favorable for snipers. I love Tri-Color Turf War in it’s current execution and would love the readdtion of shifty stations for Splatfest Turf War. I would very much appreciate use of special, unique and shiny ink colors akin to Frosty Fest, e.g. Also, team booyah solidarity.
Chargers are not "no-skill" weapons BUT chargers normally have the easiest positioning in the game and with the current map design like mincemeat metalworks where the chargers plan is to only sit on snipe 90% of the time its easy positioning is made even easier so saying chargers are "easy" is something that somewhat makes sense that being said chargers take the hardest aim in the game to use so no they aren't easy thank you for coming to my ted talk
I mean chargers require that you understand the map as well. They have easy positioning in most of the splatoon 3 maps because something that chargers had to look out for was getting flanked in Splatoon 1, where mid was just another part of the map. In terms of even playing them properly chargers are flat out the hardest. They have a high skill floor and an even higher skill ceiling. Then again, Chargers the most gigachad weapon.
Rant alert🗿 I mean charger just lack of character in gameplay. Just a general sniper role across all shooting game. While splatoon having unique gameplay among the genre. Charger main still having almost identical gameplay compare to other. Yes it requires most accuracy among the weapon types. But which weapon doesn’t require highly accuracy too. It’s really idiocy when you think about it. Charger main really just dedicate themselves to play less of the game while making the opponent playing less of the game. The problem even standout more in specific map. I am not directing hate toward charger player. But it really hit different when the salt goes deep. In the end play the weapon you like, other’s opinion won’t affect you a bit.🦑🐙
@@cursedwanderer1753 man idk i feel like a lot of chargers play the weapon pretty badly and still end up deadly. because if you don't have a charger on the opposite team they're hard to take out with current maps
Chargers are the most difficult of the classes to master for a reason. It's very rewarding if you are good, but if you don't do a good job, there's no "good map for chargers" that would save you.
@@cursedwanderer1753 true it does make you learn the maps but the new maps and the returning maps are smaller so its pretty easy to learn them if want to spend alot of time learning a wepeon like the charger
We also need Pro mode for every PvP match meaning solo queue. I'm tired of going a against a clearly group that has VC while having terrible allies or just straight up newcomers, I'll do very good and still take the L.
I need an unranked solo queue for ranked for when I want to have a good time outside of Turf and SR. Really why make it all about people getting all sweaty and worked up on those modes in particular? Whatever happen to giving more options to players? Why can't we have separate playlists for modes? When I had discussions about this with people, I get the same "get good" responses or go play Turf then. This community needs to be more vocal.
I prefer Tricolor over shifty stations because the whole game matters; it’s not just 30 seconds. Shifty stations have the fundamental flaw of being turf war, which was only somewhat alleviated by the dome stage. They’re fun, but turf war takes away from what it could be.
8:50 They're not allergic, they've just been keeping them unused for something important! For 7 years... and 3 games. Anyway yeah I agree with all your points, lol. One thing I always thought would've been cool (and knocked out two birds with one stone) is if each splatfest in this game featured a new game mode, acting as a proper follow up of shifty station from splatoon 3. Each splatfest deep cut comes up with a new set of chaotic rules everyone has to play by, and one of the turf war modes ends up being replaced by this new ruleset. Stuff like sub weapons only or one that plays with special charge, a mode where everyone has their kits altered to be something not normally possible, or even something themed to the specific splatfest choices.
the propeller stage from splat 2 was WONDERFUL,(can’t remember name) there are many routes, and so many fun functions in it, the propelling platforms help you to control how you play, elevating or deelevating yourself depending on the situation 👍
I'm so done with this game, and I truly want to love it. But... Stages full of chokepoints, meta defined by special spamming, abysmal matchmaking system, balance patch failing to address the main issues, the lag and players disconnections, difficulty all over the place in Salmon run... just too frustrating overall, the fun is gone. I'm just logging in to collect my Shel-drone and check the stores, in hope that they'll fix it eventually lol
@Jeff Logan The whole competitive scene (you know, players who sink thousands and thousands of hours in the game) pretty much all agree with the flaws I cited (except maybe SR difficulty). Who cares about the sellings or reviews ? No one is saying that Splatoon is a bad game, we just all want it to improve because we love it and see the potential it has. I don't play or care about Overwatch 2, get that fanboy war elsewhere. It's cringe.
@Jeff Logan lmao "troll" dude maybe do research before opening your mouth, this game didnt do well in Europe or the Americas. The only place three did well was Asia smh
ProChara (who's in the comment section) talked about the state of tricolor that I completely agree with, he sad tricolor should be non splatfest exclusive, and should be another unranked mode bc it's more of an objective game than turf war with the signal, but it's not quite at the level of ranked since if everyone ignores it it's just turf war normally.
There's so many bad things about this game you can't even fit them all in a single video. Like why is there still NO minimap?! It's like they tried to make Splatoon as flawed as humanly possible, thank you Nintendo.
Idk about being useless if you can help fuel up someone’s booyah bomb. Sometimes I use it as a way to give the message “hi,” “good job,” “thank you,” or just a gesture of encouragement or interaction.
This is so true!! I'm the type of person who knows nothing about stage design and doesn't think about it, but even I noticed how bland the 3 stages are. I don't even have a single favourite, and that's sad! Flounder is the most fun for me, but...that says a lot considering it's just reworked from 1
I was so excited for splatoon 3 since it was announced that they were making it and I got it the day it came out but I still haven’t played a single match. The game is kinda sitting in the dust at the moment since I completed the story mode. Every time I try joining a match it keeps saying ‘Not enough players’ after a little bit of waiting. I don’t think it’s just my internet, other people have this issue and Nintendo is NOT fixing it. I’ve tried Ethernet and wireless connections and yet it still won’t load it up. I really wish I could play the game since it looks really nice but that’s what killed it for me. I think I’m gonna stay on Splatoon 2.
0:50 this is going to be good. 1:42 "YES! finally! thank you!" very important question in regards to matchmaking: *how is this fair to newcomers!?* this will most likely drive them away! (it's a good thing i'm persistant) my biggest problem with Splatoon 3 is matchmaking... or lack there of, as you said. thank you Nintenjas for addressing it :)
Nintendo been making weird decisions since the mid 90’s. I agree with almost everything in this video but I wouldn’t hold my breath for most of this stuff.
speaking of matchmaking, if you have bad wifi, the game just straight up won't let you play if you don't have a friend to join (if you try to start a match by yourself, after around 70-120 seconds you'd get a "not enough players" error)
GREAT video! I agree with each and every single point. The matchmaking is absolutely busted. The paid-for online is way worse than even splatoon 1. Half the maps are bad, and mahi mahi and undertow are SO Bad. This culmination of factors is hurting the game so much, and it's painful.
@pickle The game is is not getting hot at all and it's selling well getting positive feedback after positive feedback with each update and keeping the player base hooked making it better then ever
@@leeshapon "we don't care" "we" game is getting positive feed with each update "no its not 'every' 'fan' has complained about it you not a real fan" Yes I am your a fake fan with a toxic pfp and your being nothing more then a spoiled egotist
On the topic of the weapon based matchmaking, I remember playing with a team that consisted if 2 custom jr.s and 2 regular jr.s..... before I promptly got a communication error
All ill say is this, if there was unranked/casual versions of ClamBlitz, Tower Control, Splatzones and Rainmaker, I would have more reasons to play outside of Salmon Run and occasional Turf War. I've already done my lifetime's share of Ranked Grinds so no, I will not touch Ranked in this game.
Agreed to all, Lags and Disco is annoying but Stage Design and Matchmaking is such a joke, I mean i will play it and live with it but its really annoying and Ninteno does nothing.
@@maplemiles3381 For me they are, they need to improve them,go watch Chara he will analyse this soon. If you are other Opinion you can. I like a few Stages like the Bridge and a few old ones but most new Ones are not so great and Matchmaking is pure Crap 60% of the Time.
@@maplemiles3381 Your Opinion don't understand why you have such problems accept others but anyway. Mahi mahi zones can go to the deepest part of the shadow realm. The Japanese spring stage is my favorite stage in the whole title in everyone mode and everything else is natural to me.
video is on point but i would suggest fixing the audio levels, the transition music is really loud compared to your quiet mic and it kinda hurt my ears lol
The worst part about the matches in this game is the fact that somtimes when your teamate dissconnects the match dosent get called off which sucks especially during a rank up battle
1. Yes matchmaking is absolutely terrible in every damn mode and it feels awful, even in Ranked Series I swear. What is the point of having a player level and rank if they barely do anything for matching players together. Now I know we could team up with a friend who just got the game but then it should be a mix-match of veteran and new players together at least. 100% agree, no new player should be forced to play with any of us who have a high player level and/or S Rank or higher until they get their feet wet. I can only imagine how many people have quit the game and returned it for that reason alone, trying to get the hang of things then get 10 or more loses in a row(Hel that even has happened to me more recently because I swear I keep getting matched with bad players). I was even thinking about weapon choices but that should really only apply to Ranked since you can't change your weapon in rank between matches unlike in Turf where you can change between each battle. But yes, if you are playing solo then weapon types should be evenly spaced out for Ranked. Now maybe they could have settings that you could configure to help with this, those who want a more well rounded random encounters and those who don't care, but seriously Splatoon 3 needs more expanded customization across the board, no just matchmaking. 2. They have no excuse at this point, Splatoon 3 is the best selling Japanese game and Nintendo is a billion dollar company, they can spend the cash to improve their Net. 3. Map design itself can and is the subject of entire videos, and it is 100% true that the maps overall in Splatoon 3 suck. Why do they suck, because they either barely have any create side routes to take or are too small and cramped, or BOTH these issues. More and more as the months go on I begin to hate so many of the designs of maps in Splatoon 3, and so MANY damn problems have been born because of it. The choke points making pushing and retaking mid a nightmare or holding it a slaughtering breeze, the constant suppression of movement due to specials being bombarded on opposing teams(SPECIFICALLY Booyah Bomb and Inkstrike teams never letting you breath without one flying every other second), ranged weapons dominating the rounds especially if their teams are supportive, spawns getting camped, and more. Sit in an awkward position that makes you leg or arm fall asleep, that is what the map designs are doing to Splatoon 3's multiplayer. 4. Absolutely we need more communication options, it is bad enough we don't have standard voice communication by choice even with friends(yes I know Nintendo Switch App and it's voice communication setup is awful), but yes there are solutions to that like using discord on your PC or other but it would be nice if at least we could with people on our friend's list or a 3rd party app we could download from the Switch Store. The real reason they don't have regular voice chat for Splatoon has more to do with weirdo adults perving on children. But excluding voice chat, the game absolutely needs VASTLY more communication prompts than Booyah, Ouch, and This Way. A simply solution would be have 4 or less responses for each of the 4 direction button which would give us up-to 16 possible. Simple things like confirmations like Yes/No, Go Left/Go Right/Go Forward/Go Back, Enemy Left/Right, Enemy Behind Us, Enemy Spotted, Flank Left/Right, Booyah and other fun stuff to respond, and the ideas can go one. 5. Even though I have been a Splatoon fan since 2015 I never have truly played since 2022 with Splatoon 2 campaigns then all of CURRENT(Feb 2023) Splatoon 3. So I never got to play Shifty Stations and all, but they reminds me of the many ideas I have had for the multiplayer maps. I honestly feel they need to add more fun gimmicks to stages even if it is as simple as taking stuff from the campaigns like actual ink rails, bounce pads, fan elevators, launch ramps, sponge bridges, and more. Tri Color is fun but I do agree, they aren't that special and severely need to be originally designed stages that are primarily focused on being 3 way fights. I don't even think the whole Attack/Defend is even a good concept for Tri Color battles, it just is a glorified 4 v 2v2 instead of it being a true 3v3v3 which would go along with the ENTIRE theme of Splatoon 3 being Three and Chaos. Attack/Defend should be set for a new gamemode. The Splatfests have been fun for 3 but the majority of them so far have been heavily weighted to different idols at times but at least they have gotten most jokes out of the way(cough Chocolate and White chocolate poop&cum). I want Splatfests to be even better, though i am concerned with Inkopolis now being added how things will be. I love Deep Cut but Callie and Marie will always be my favorite. 6. Splatoon 3 needs several new gamemodes and the best place to look is the campaign. Power Girl Station is a great example going back to an Attack/Defend mode where one team defends while another attacks to destroy whatever it would be. Another great mode could be Capture The Zapfish where you try and steal the enemy's Zapfish as they try to steal yours. We could have a Race Mode where both teams have to ride or shoot something to see who gets to the goal fast enough. We could have a Predator or Juggernaut mode where one player is "IT" and they are overpowered and must stay it the longest while everyone else tries to become "IT" and reversely we could have an Infected Mode where one person is "IT" and has to splat everyone else to join their team. It is odd they never added a Team Splat Match where you are only concerned about which team splats the most. To add onto new modes, we should also consider having the different Ranked Modes added to casual. This would help newer players learn HOW to play these Ranked matches without getting squashed and allow anyone to enjoy the modes without the high stress of gaining and losing points. There are so many different ideas they could add for new modes it would be a shame if they didn't. 7. Not something Nintendo can be faulted, but a huge problem in Splatoon 3 are the fans and weirdos who plague the Plaza. Im not prude, nor do I think anyone should be reported or banned but the amount of weird and uncomfortable stuff people show and talk about is extremely exhausting and not good for younger kids to repeat. I am not against people posting anything, but I feel a huge improvement Nintendo could do is allow us to individually block another player's posts from showing up. Sometimes I get tired of seeing some people's annoying posts in the plaza and just would love to turn those individuals off. Along with posts, I also want to see more tools added to the Post art and a bigger resolution.
Fully agree on the communications one like oml if someone on your team has a booyah bomb u better be spamming booyah because its literally helping to charge ur special and theirs, ur on the same team help them out
I got dc'ed from a ranked match while there were 5 seconds left the other day. The team managed get ko bonus since we had control of zone, but it still hurt.
tbh a *lot* of people are losing hope in nintendo as the latest patch did *litterally nothing* to the meta beside tentatech splatter shot being used with 2 splash
I literally hate Maui Maui with a passion. It's so easy to invade the spawn area, almost encouraging spawn camping, and the bounce pads aren't even bouncy. It's cute and all, but truly one of the worst stages.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who feels like something is so off about Splatoon 3. The matchmaking lobby is a horrible change. You can’t even see your opponents until the game starts, nor can you see their level. The Splatoon 2 specials returning really makes this game feel like Splatoon 2, and the reworked Splatoon 1 stages are so bad. I love Splatoon 1 and Like Splatoon 2, but idk about 3 tbh
I got put on a team of 3 chargers and myself. IN TURF WAR. we lost and lost HARD Edit - I think the opposite team had one charger, would have made sense to split it up to 2 and 2
This hasn't been an issue for me yet, but the fact that rank debt even *exists* is absurd. They gave a "solution" in the form of a rank reset (to a rank determined by recent performance), but you can only use that once a season. I get that the reset could be abused by smurfs, but what should've been done is that you should rank down upon going below 0 rank points. This combined with the fact that wins in Anarchy series are weighted so much more than losses means you can pretty quickly advance through the ranks with like a 40% win rate. If you're winning 40% on B and advance to A, then you're going to get destroyed to such an extent that you aren't even learning anymore and have no recourse unless you want to use your one reset. I've now made sure to self-monitor to make sure I'm winning a wide majority of matches before I choose to do a rank-up battle so that this hopefully doesn't happen to me anytime soon, but most players won't know to do that until it's too late. And even doing that, there's always a chance, especially at higher ranks, that you are winning like 90% of matches, rank up, and then still get destroyed and go into rank debt anyway. The biggest issue is that if you're not ready for the next rank & get into it anyway, you're likely not even going to be learning much because you're outmatched to such a great extent. The whole thing is absurd, especially when taken in the context of the matchmaking issues.
Splatoon NEEDs the Apex Legends ping system, which is great. But if we had to make do with the d-pad we id say something along the lines of: -Attack Here -Defend Here -Wait -Booyah Ideally we could have more options and you could customize it to your needs, even to your freshest fits
I applaud and commend your efforts with this video. You are a brave soul to leave the comment section open. Let’s hope Nogami takes a few minutes out of his busy day to watch it. If he worked at Blizzard he would be looking for a new job right about now. I have been around since Hamburgers vs Pizza (connected via Ethernet) and S3 is a just a disaster on so many levels I’m just about over it and ready to move on, so yeah your video is pretty accurate.
You are very true about these problems. I love splatoon so much ever since the first game, but I really hope. They fix these problems, dear lord I seen my friends get communication errors even when they have great wifi and someone please fix the stages. On the positive note of good stuff 1. A cool story 2. Little buddy 3. Being able to customize our players more. 4. Deep Cut 5. Music
I don't come across connection issues that often, I get more issues on pc games albeit those games are made by small teams, but I do recognize I'm likely the exception. Nintendo really needs to improve their online overall and not just with splatoon. I pay for NSO+! Yes I get some lovely boons but having an actual server to host games would be nice. Yes servers are expensive as you're paying £1 per singular slot. Meaning if you have a 60 player slot server you as the owner are paying *AT LEAST* £60 a month (more if you're choosing to get nice things like a better hard drive). Nintendo is a company over 100 years old. they have the funds for a server company let alone renting servers.
Agree on stage design. Flounder heights was one of my favorites and I was overjoyed when they announced it... only to cry inside when I saw how the verticality was literally butchered. Back in Splat 1 I loved how the stage allowed you to ambush opponents, with the Jet Squelcher allowing you to quickly scale the far wall, or the N-zap 85's Special to hunt them down. At this point I'm glad Moray Towers did not get in, as it would've probably got the same treatment. And boy do I shudder with some stages when an E-liter or Hydra is on the opposing side. A lot of times they don't even need to reach center stage to make your life miserable. Good luck sneaking up on them undetected. Comms, YES!. Something in the line of 'fall/stay back!' or 'don't jump over!' I can't count how many times I've lost a match due to last-minute panic/hysteria, where teammates squid jump back in, hoping to reclaim turf in a hurry... only to make things worse. I've even lost matches like this while we were in the lead but then "OMG, last minute, everyone jump!" Ugh (grabs nose bridge).
I would honestly say the marketing now after release is fine, there's plenty of ads and I literally saw a splatoon 3 bus ad the other day soo... But yeah I agree with literally everything here especially the comm options. There's so much customisation in this game which is fanatastic, however the fact that we still have such limited comm options is terrible. Like why couldn't they be a customisable thing? We could unlock comm options by playing or hell maybe even by the shell out machine! Maybe there could be different options for different game modes as well, like for salmon run there could be boss icons to tell your teammates where a boss is. It's such a wasted opportunity.
Agree with the video. My least favorite are the frequent Connection Errors. I wonder if the Nintendo Switch itself just can barely keep up with the network data or something, during gameplay. Even though it's just 1 MB/sec or so.
I feel like giving up this game, after the update I somehow dipped in form, in the last few days I only get 1-2 win a day. I used to have almost even win lose ratio, after the 2.1.0 update I only got 1 win in 7-8 loses What happened?
I hate the amount of limited events and rewards that are in this game compared to 2, sometimes I just don't wanna play for like a month, or I have too much work to be doing that I miss lots of events. In 2 this wasn't really an issue, but now it feels like I don't have much of a choice in when I play, if I don't want to I still have to.
not to mention there's some of the worst kits for online battles. Yes the matchmaking for splatoon 3 is pretty bad, it always seemed like I went against the pros :(
This type of game can make more gamemodes than just shooter, imagine a racing gamemode, but I haven't tried splatoon 3 yet and I've played 2 before, is it worth the upgrade?
i think splatoon 3 should break nintendos signature mold and keep it consistent with updates and seasons rather then constantly making a new game as splatoon 3 graphically and GUI’ey is pretty good and could def do good with updates like that
I went into turf playing a new weapon, the splatana wiper. There were 3 wipers on my team, and 3 flingza rollers on the other team without any sign of it being a meme group or tream it was absolutely tragic
my biggest problem is honestly that instead of making BOTH big runs and splatfests monthly, they're just randomly alternating for no real reason? this is especially bad as we already know we're getting two years of updates. we're nearing half a year already. not only that, splatfests have really become far more underwhelming... less songs, thanosed mid-match idol voicelines, no special intro to set the mood from the second you launch the game, no shifty stations... man, I almost wish they brought back splatfests for splat2! another personal pet peeve is how bottlenecked new items are. since I missed almost the entire first season, there's a lot of gear, decor and collectibles I straight up CANNOT get until the drizzle season comes back in rotation. WHY? WOULD IT KILL THEM TO INSTEAD OF GIVING ME AN EMPTY ASS CATALOGUE AFTER THE CHILL SEASON ONE GIVE ME A RERUN OF THE DRIZZLE ONE SO I CAN GET EVERYTHING I MISSED OUT ON? OR CAN I LEAST GET THE COOL GEAR FROM MURCH???? "sorry, this item is too hot right now" NO IT LITERALLY ISN'T????? GIVE ME MY COOL CIRCLE SHADES??????
You are so right about everything! Especially about the map design. I feel like they are regressing in trying to be "beginner-friendly" by oversimplifying the game when the game being complex was what made it good in the first place. If you have a shooter like that or generally a game where you have to conquer something and take the strategy aspect of the game away, it's becoming a question of luck, not of skill, not of understanding the game or using clever moves to help your team win. In short: The essence of the game itself is lost. I am also not unhappy that the lack of new modes is finally adressed in the international Splatoon community. I don't want to brag, but the German community relised this was an issue as soon as the Splatoon 3 Direct came out. German Splatoon Twitter and TH-cam were a warzone during that time with one half of the fanbase being hyped for the game and the other being severely disappointed and saying that Splatoon 3 could have been another expansion of Splatoon 2 ("Splatoon 2 Deluxe" is what they called Splatoon 3) and so far I have to say that I can see where we were coming from back then still.
It's NOT just Germany that noticed there were new game modes. Practically EVERYONE did; where on earth have you been (Germany aside)? I like Nintenjas, but EVERYTHING in this video, is NOT NEW, and has been mentioned by practically EVERY other splatuber MONTHS ago. Prior to launch, MOST players/streamers were complaining about the lack of new modes; check other Splatubers videos, and try not to make such generalisations on a video, that came out 5 months after the Splat3 Direct! Look up Nintendo Direct Splat 3 review videos, if you don't believe me, how can you brag, when your assumptions are false? Do you honestly believe only Germans noticed there were no new modes? I've been playing Splat2 and 3 since launch (preordered) and watched all of the Splat 3 Directs, do you honestly believe that only Germans noticed there were no new modes? Really?
@@michelleo8279 When I was curious about this issue back then I looked up the reviews on the direct, reviews of reactors, comments sections etc. Not once did I find a comment about the lack of new modes that was not written by a German person addressed to Germans and therefore written in German. Also not later on or anything. It was always only Germans bringing this up. The international fandom always seemed to have a much more positive impression about the game and focussed more on the supposedly unfair Tri-Colour-Turf-War (what exactly was unfair about them, I can't say) or map design.
I know it’s not the biggest deal But I would like them to at least add a forfeit button to table turf. Seriously if the deck i made isn’t working or is just trash At least let me end my suffering quickly.
Honestly why even make it online multiplayer if it’s gonna have connection issues I was thinking about getting this game but the requirement for Nintendo switch online killed my hopes it’s such a waste and a scam that ruins a interesting and good game I hope Nintendo will fix this game that I was interested in and discontinue this garbage online membership
Stage Layout - The lack of options to navigate the stages hurts competitive. The lack of back alleys where folk aren't going to get attacked hurt new players by forcing them into fights when they may not be ready for it. Both would largely be fixed by the same thing - Flanks. Coms options - Non-verbal communication in shooters has largely been solved in I believe Apex Legends and Nintendo _really_ need to 'borrow' that. Shifty stations - Would also help tri-colour, if the shifty station was also the stage tri-colour took place on so they could be designed around the mode (while having the cool gimmicks) Modes - I don't think the lack of new modes is killing S3, but there should be new modes using the same core gameplay as the bulk of the game (so, even when tableturf gets online, still won't count. No matter how awesome it is.). Be that a new PVP mode ala Clams, a new mode for Salmon, or something else entirely. And it would need to be _free_ not part of the DLC to count for that, since... Well... New multiplayer content in DLC tends to not go well.
I got the game recently and have been constantly disconnecting. My internet is fine idk how to stop it. I am considering quitting just because there is way way way too many disconnects occurring
I think my biggest issue with this game is the story mode (I know it's a multiplayer game) it feels too short, and the lack of bosses is a little disappointing to me because I love story modes regardless of what kind of game it is. I feel as if it should've been longer if anything. (Just my personal opinion)
I was terrified to play competitive team against team games. I decided to play splatoon 2. I was shaking, sweating and thought I would have a heart attack. Yet I I had the time of my life it was so fun and I learnt to enjoy a good hard battle. I now even play more than splatoon it changed my life. But if I had started with splatoon 3 I would've cried in a corner and never touched a game like this again. No match making, so much stuff that doesn't make sense I went from winning almost every match in 1 and 2 and enjoying a good heart racing close battle to forcing myself to keep going on my 100th loss because I want to enjoy it. But it's so hard to not give up
I have several accounts to focus on different weapon types so if I become better at charger, I can then take it to my main account. So yeah, Smurfing a bit. However, in my C- games, I was literally coming up against high end S+ players for sure, as I am not a beginner, so maybe there is my hidden Power score behind it! But if this was the same for a beginner taking it up and not having a score behind it, many players just picking up the game may quickly be disheartened and quit the game really before they even started. It’s a shame, so there really needs to be some proper match making done by Nintendo to sort this game out!
I feel like the Special button shouldn’t be pressing R. I’ve accidentally used it on a handful of occasions, especially in Salmon Run modes because the R just so happens to be the moving feature. I think it should be on of the other four buttons on the right side since not all of them are used. I definitely strongly agree with the communications feature, there needs to be more or even customizable ones where you can say different things that the game gives you.
This games future is in the grave. Matchmaking is embarassingly incompetant. Sort of fun while it lasted I guess, Nintendo has proven they sure as shit won't fix any of this.
During the Chocolate Splatfest I played a game where my team was 4 Hydras against a balanced team. We got completely clowned on. Also I despise what they did to Hammerhead. I call Hammerhead Bridge Hammerhead Hallway.
As a person who picked up splatoon 3 with the switch just a few months ago, I can safely say the matchmaking killed whatever enthusiasm I had for the game. I greatly loved the single player experince and enjoyed the multiplayer aspect at first. But as I continued on with it, it just became less and less fun to the point I don't even play it anymore. It just sits on my desk at this point.
Forget two of the same weapon on a team. I frequently end up with three. The matchmaking has actually gotten worse with each and every update in my opinion. Thanks for making this video. I love this game, but it feels utterly unplayable a lot of the time.
i think "killing" is a overdramatic way of putting it, splatoon 1 has a bunch of issues and is on a significantly less popular console, but still has a playerbase. splatoon 2 was plagued with a lot more issues than splatoon 3 (and still is) but still has a playerbase. splatoon 3 is not dying anytime soon, it isnt being killed. nintendo are *hurting* splatoon 3.
The maps are not the problem for me, the map design look like Tetris is not good. I am not a pro player, and Twitter is ass in my opinion, like I like Flounder, Museum, Hagglefish, MakoMart, Mahi Mahi Resort, Inkblot, Surgeon, and MakoMart. I am the OG of Splatoon, I play Anarchy but not a competitive player because I don’t play Turf War(I only do Splatfest), because of Solo Matchmaking put me into Pre-schoolers(Little Timmies) and that’s hilarious, and frustrating. And Sweat Lords doesn’t take a shower and touch grass. I get sick of negativity in the Splatoon Community, and Twitter cries all the time. Hope Season 3 Brings the Reef, Bluefin, Saltspray Rig, Snappers Canal, and Skippers. I hate the latency, and lag, it’s like 300 ping(Nintendo, bring me ping counter). Shatterline FPS Game can choose between US and Japan. US has 40 Ping on Shatterline. Nintendo needs to learn, it’s not a pre-school just like Vince McMahon going idiot on WWE. Hope this game gets more better. Screw the Casual Vs Competitive Auguments and I despise Chargers and Stringers in my opinion. (I dispise Backliners, no offense) I’ve been playing Splatoon for over 7 years, this game needs to be fixed.
Stage Likes: I enjoy MakoMart and Hagglefish. I like the openness it has. I do like FlounderHeights, I’m just not used to the obvious- the height difference compared to other maps. Stage dislikes: Mahi Mahi was really downgraded from Splat 1’s version. ?: UndertowSpillway is definitely tricky, I feel indifferent about it. I do enjoy it but there is one main problem that I see. The glass platforms. They are too close together and don’t provide a way to ink turf on the enemy side. There is a small gap, but with a sniper there isn’t much to cover/scout. If they were to widen the map and modify the glass platforms a bit, I think that would help the map greatly. BrineWater springs is also weird. I think it’s the awkward drop-down that the left side has when leaving base, it feels unnatural and I don’t feel comfortable going there bc I can get ambushed so easily from *all* sides. Something about that needs to be fixed
Yeah, I really love that I’m being matched against S+ players while I’m stuck with IDIOTS from C rank in CLAM BLITZ! I mean, Clam Blitz is very fun, but it’s literally IMPOSSIBLE to play if you can’t tell your friends stuff like “Hey follow me” or “I dropped the power clam”.
I'd say it makes more sense to say that chargers are a high skill weapon. If someone who doesn't know what there doing has it, they'll be pretty much pointless, but if one of the tryhard users has it, you can bet the other team will have a lot less fun. I haven't really encountered this much in splatoon 3, feeling that most of the times a charger gets me it's fair (besides getting splatted when I've moved behind a wall a good second I'm advance), but back in splatoon 1 getting a charger beam pointed at you when you didn't even see it and dying instantly for the 7th time that match, it can be infuriating. I think I broke my Wii U gamepad that way if I remember correctly, by kneeing the screen cause I got so pissed off
Before Splatoon 3 came out, I made the mistake of firing up my WiiU & playing Splatoon again when Mahi-Mahi was in rotation, I wanted to go back to it since it's been years & I had a blast playing on that map again, I still love it. When we did the global test fire rock, paper, scissors splatfest, my friend & I both picked team paper so we were playing together & got so excited whenever we got Mahi-Mahi but compared to the original it SUCKS! We were like, what the hell is this? This isn't my Mahi-Mahi! It just was made that much worse playing the original one so recently.
Undertow is definitely bad but mincemeat is where you feel the liter privilege the worst Its atrocious how one weapon can completely change how you have to approach a stage I cry every time theres an liter on opponents team and we have no means of dealing with them and all we can do is pray they aren’t godly
@@maplemiles3381 I want to! But I'm disconnecting almost every round and its frustrating, to the point I don't enjoy playing. My internet at home is just fine, but the Nintendo internet is just horrible.
Picked up the game again recently, and even being lvl 10, I get to have to battle people with maxed out gear, like bro how the frick is that fair, another problem is the weapon special balancing, I feel like there is way not enough of some special, like for exemple, the splat on 2 missiles… if u want to have em, u either gotta play the shitty little bow, or the splatana deco or whatever it is, splatoon 3 from my pov, needs a lot fixed, prob gonna go back to 2 to see if anyone is still playing it
The stage design hurts everyone its not just a competitive thing, glad to see it labeled as the large issue it is.
Nah, the new players love getting shot by the uncontested eliters on mincemeat 10 times !111!1!
Does he know?
To be honest, the stages are also just unappealing in looks as well. (Not all of them)
Goddamn ProChara is so involved in the community he will comment on a random video about the game an hour after it drops. Mad respect
Tenta missles.
I do not need to elaborate.
And the worst is that big run doesn't even fill splatfest missing months
As it turns out, it's neither. It's whenever they feel like it
@@seroujghazarian6343 Well most of us are aware now that February has a Splatfest. So it might mean 2 Splatfests per season now and 1 Big Run
The only ads I've seen for switch games here were pokemon, switch sports, and Mario strikers battle league.)
that’s really strange and arbitrary
What? I didn’t know this😭 that really sucks
Does that mean that I’ve been playing with other Norwegians all this time?
@@CalicoPawzzzz No, this is a competitive tournament only thing.
I never knew about it being ptp, because it wasn't overly obvious in 2 so I never had incentive to look it up
I joked about splat3 being hosted but remembered to make sure I remembered it was "probably overloaded servers" because I assumed that it was normal multi-million popular shooter ip and had servers that just weren't prepared to handle such a big player base from jump so when I learned about it, I was really confused on why we pay $20+ for online.
No servers is really sucks
I've heard rumors that the Zelda Splatfest will have its own unique Zelda themed map.
my #7 issue is the drip-fed update system. the last "big update" was actually smaller than splatoon 2's 2017 holiday 2.0 update, only adding 2 new maps and less new clothing gear. it was really disappointing and these updates need to do better in the future to get me and others excited for them.
@@MineNAdventurer but by the end of its lifespan of 2 years, it'll only have 5 more maps than splatoon 2 had :(
the updates need to be bigger and add new modes too
@@hAze_the_shrimp I do agree on that front (though tbh it isn't necessary, just a nice bonus) but I wouldn't be suprised if they do ramp it up over time.

Weird, one time it was me and the other 7 players were new. All Jr, the basic clothes, and the clunky gameplay.
I was going crazy with Splash in Splatfests and I guess the game figured I needed to be paired with the sweatiest teams possible lol.
i was technically new, but I was A rank in most for splat2 and i had legit new players with me
My personal biggest issue is matchmaking.
You can reset your rank now?
@@Danny328DT yup, that's a thing
My main issue is maps that make it easier to rush the other teams spawn areas and choke them off. Lack of ways to go around.
YES, THIS. It feels like you can get rushed & choked out in the first 45 seconds of a match
Tricolor is gonna be in future Splatoon games so they better polish it soon rather than in Splatoon 7 or smth
Every weapon in the game requires skill🤦 if you can't counter a weapon maybe play I don't know animal crossing?!
Every weapon has a different playstile. Some of them are better for doing certain tasks than others
“They need to bring back The Reef.”
That’s all you needed to say, really.
Chargers are not "no-skill" weapons BUT
chargers normally have the easiest positioning in the game and with the current map design like mincemeat metalworks where the chargers plan is to only sit on snipe 90% of the time its easy positioning is made even easier so saying chargers are "easy" is something that somewhat makes sense that being said chargers take the hardest aim in the game to use so no they aren't easy
thank you for coming to my ted talk
I mean chargers require that you understand the map as well. They have easy positioning in most of the splatoon 3 maps because something that chargers had to look out for was getting flanked in Splatoon 1, where mid was just another part of the map. In terms of even playing them properly chargers are flat out the hardest. They have a high skill floor and an even higher skill ceiling.
Then again, Chargers the most gigachad weapon.
Rant alert🗿
I mean charger just lack of character in gameplay.
This community needs to be more vocal.
for the other two d-pad buttons, I'd put "Look out!" and "Help!"
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.
I prefer Tricolor over shifty stations because the whole game matters; it’s not just 30 seconds. Shifty stations have the fundamental flaw of being turf war, which was only somewhat alleviated by the dome stage. They’re fun, but turf war takes away from what it could be.
Except that only half of the splatfest is tricolor
Splat 3 splatfest turf war is a regression to splatoon 1
There were some shifty stations like the bunker games that were well designed for turf war by making it so that early performance matters more.
The netcode issue is why brellas actually got worse in this game which is why there have been so many patches to fix them
8:50 They're not allergic, they've just been keeping them unused for something important!
While I’m mostly fine with what we got, your idea sounds freaking awesome! It’d fit right into the whole “Chaos” gimmick, too!
the propeller stage from splat 2 was WONDERFUL,(can’t remember name) there are many routes, and so many fun functions in it, the propelling platforms help you to control how you play, elevating or deelevating yourself depending on the situation 👍

I'm just logging in to collect my Shel-drone and check the stores, in hope that they'll fix it eventually lol
@Jeff Logan
The whole competitive scene (you know, players who sink thousands and thousands of hours in the game) pretty much all agree with the flaws I cited (except maybe SR difficulty).

@@mysryuza I also quite often see it used as a hi-five when a team I'm on gets a wipeout - It does seem to do something as a morale booster

I will say drop splatoon 2 and continue to play splatoon 3 since most who were like "I'm striking to splatoon 2" went back to splatoon 3

very important question in regards to matchmaking: *how is this fair to newcomers!?* this will most likely drive them away! (it's a good thing i'm persistant)
my biggest problem with Splatoon 3 is matchmaking... or lack there of, as you said.
thank you Nintenjas for addressing it :)
I'm in rank C 😆 But every game there is always this one guy that seems to be S+ or something.
Nintendo been making weird decisions since the mid 90’s. I agree with almost everything in this video but I wouldn’t hold my breath for most of this stuff.
the maps are so tight where chargers thrive, and i live in SEA, where 90% of players are japanese btw.
speaking of matchmaking, if you have bad wifi, the game just straight up won't let you play if you don't have a friend to join (if you try to start a match by yourself, after around 70-120 seconds you'd get a "not enough players" error)
I'm surprised you didn't talked about weapon balance
Splash o Matic and .52 gal got buffed to absurd levels while breallas got absolutely butchered

All ill say is this, if there was unranked/casual versions of ClamBlitz, Tower Control, Splatzones and Rainmaker, I would have more reasons to play outside of Salmon Run and occasional Turf War.

@@maplemiles3381 For me they are, they need to improve them,go watch Chara he will analyse this soon. If you are other Opinion you can. I like a few Stages like the Bridge and a few old ones but most new Ones are not so great and Matchmaking is pure Crap 60% of the Time.

The worst part about the matches in this game is the fact that somtimes when your teamate dissconnects the match dosent get called off which sucks especially during a rank up battle
I hate this game
IN TURF WAR.
we lost and lost HARD
Edit - I think the opposite team had one charger, would have made sense to split it up to 2 and 2
This hasn't been an issue for me yet, but the fact that rank debt even *exists* is absurd.
But if we had to make do with the d-pad we id say something along the lines of:
-Attack Here
-Defend Here
-Wait
-Booyah
Ideally we could have more options and you could customize it to your needs, even to your freshest fits

My favourite stage is Barnacle and Dime because of the design alone. Is that bad?
My top 4 FAVE stages are undertown spillway, mahi mahi resort, brinewater springs and wahoo world on nr 1...
I used to have almost even win lose ratio, after the 2.1.0 update I only got 1 win in 7-8 loses
What happened?
I prefer splatoon 2. And my slosher deco
3:44 yea switch online kinda killed my excitement for splatoon. I don't even play anymore
Yes the matchmaking for splatoon 3 is pretty bad, it always seemed like I went against the pros :(
This type of game can make more gamemodes than just shooter, imagine a racing gamemode, but I haven't tried splatoon 3 yet and I've played 2 before, is it worth the upgrade?
the only fucking problem is connectivity issues with these shitty peer to peer servers honestly
1:39 Why did that get me laughing so hard!?
i think splatoon 3 should break nintendos signature mold and keep it consistent with updates and seasons rather then constantly making a new game as splatoon 3 graphically and GUI’ey is pretty good and could def do good with updates like that
That's... what they're doing? It's also what they've been doing with every other Splatoon game.
and put it on things other than switch.
I'll never forget playing rainmaker with three e-liters and 1 ink brush. I was the brush, it was horror.
I went into turf playing a new weapon, the splatana wiper. There were 3 wipers on my team, and 3 flingza rollers on the other team without any sign of it being a meme group or tream it was absolutely tragic
My ? is how do you kill someone because I've tried everything.
my biggest problem is honestly that instead of making BOTH big runs and splatfests monthly, they're just randomly alternating for no real reason? this is especially bad as we already know we're getting two years of updates. we're nearing half a year already. not only that, splatfests have really become far more underwhelming... less songs, thanosed mid-match idol voicelines, no special intro to set the mood from the second you launch the game, no shifty stations... man, I almost wish they brought back splatfests for splat2!
another personal pet peeve is how bottlenecked new items are. since I missed almost the entire first season, there's a lot of gear, decor and collectibles I straight up CANNOT get until the drizzle season comes back in rotation.
Shifty stations - Would also help tri-colour, if the shifty station was also the stage tri-colour took place on so they could be designed around the mode (while having the cool gimmicks)
Modes - I don't think the lack of new modes is killing S3, but there should be new modes using the same core gameplay as the bulk of the game (so, even when tableturf gets online, still won't count.
Disconnecting is killing the game can’t hardly play. Splatoon 2 is better
I once got an E-liter, aerospray rg, dualie squelchers(me) and a carbon roller on the same team
For 6 matches in a row
Oh, and Nintendo, MAKE CHALLENGE REGULAR
DID YOU SEE HOW SUCCESFULL SALMON RUN GOT?
WELL WE WANT OUR CHALLENGES
AND WE WANT THEM ALL THE TIME
During the Chocolate Splatfest I played a game where my team was 4 Hydras against a balanced team. We got completely clowned on. Also I despise what they did to Hammerhead. I call Hammerhead Bridge Hammerhead Hallway.
Am I the only one who noticed that splashdown is exclusive to hero mode?
I loved that special
I liked it but it was really easy to splat someone using it
As a person who picked up splatoon 3 with the switch just a few months ago, I can safely say the matchmaking killed whatever enthusiasm I had for the game.
Undertow is definitely bad but mincemeat is where you feel the liter privilege the worst
Its atrocious how one weapon can completely change how you have to approach a stage
I cry every time theres an liter on opponents team and we have no means of dealing with them and all we can do is pray they aren’t godly
Splatoon 3 is my favorite game, but I haven't touched it in over a month because of the online issues. I don't know when I'll return.
@@maplemiles3381 I want to! But I'm disconnecting almost every round and its frustrating, to the point I don't enjoy playing. My internet at home is just fine, but the Nintendo internet is just horrible.
Really good video!
Picked up the game again recently, and even being lvl 10, I get to have to battle people with maxed out gear, like bro how the frick is that fair, another problem is the weapon special balancing, I feel like there is way not enough of some special, like for exemple, the splat on 2 missiles… if u want to have em, u either gotta play the shitty little bow, or the splatana deco or whatever it is, splatoon 3 from my pov, needs a lot fixed, prob gonna go back to 2 to see if anyone is still playing it
It’s such a simple fix. Shifty Stations with three-way symmetry. All problems (except all the stuff with Splatfest scoring) immediately solved!
I hope it will get better with future updates. Just seen the preview of the Expansion passes so only hope the best
