Finally Some Good Weather
In this video we removed a beech tree that had recently had a large snap out. There was a large bracket on the stem and all the weight was heading over towards the building. There was also a leggy Sycamore to remove which was done on the second day. Nice to finally work in some sunshine.

Bad Weather Big Beech Removal
มุมมอง 1.3Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Filmed in a bad patch of weather in the north of England this large Beech tree was removed from a school over three days. The long limbs had a generally decent drop zone, but once in the tree a huge percentage of them where tangled and simply sending one limb at at time would not work. The job get very interesting on the second day with a storm coming in and 40mph wind gusts. We had the mewp to...

Love A Speed line Job - UK Arborist Tree Removal
มุมมอง 1.2K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
I love a job where we can utilise a speed line set up. I feel it makes the work flow nicely throughout the day. Decided on a speed line as there was a nice high tie in point and no where to really rig the branches down. Great job by the lads at MP Tree Care running the ropes. Removing A Windy Conifer Top
มุมมอง 1.5K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Video of the later part of a large conifer removal. There was a good drop zone apart from a few wooden fences. The wind however did get worse through the morning and I had to be very careful with the final removal of branches. There was no shelter for this tree being the only one within a good few hundred meters. In this video I remove the top and chog down the timber while contracting for MP T...

Pas terrible cette marque je préfère largement nylsaw comme fil
I had the Nylsaw brand. Are they not just the same thing though?
Matt Glynn has just done a great job trimming the trees at the back of our house, very professional and likeable bloke.
Thank you, glad you where happy ☺️
Voy a comprar este modelo es una muy buena maquina😮😮❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ viva stihl
Hope you enjoy it 👍
❤❤❤❤😮
For bar oil we use rock wood oil and normal fuel with stihl hp super two stroke
Not seen that before i will have a look, thanks 👍
@MattGlynn I'll try and find a link for you
Respect. How do you price up jobs? I am starting soon. Thanks
I saw your other comment, work out your daily running costs and add a profit on. Its a good start.
Hi can i please ask for advice i am from Glasgow. Just starting my own business soon how do you price up jobs?
Hi, generally running costs plus profit= price of the job. Not really sure how you would price work otherwise.
Nice work geeza!
Thanks!
All good 👍👍Mark
Cheers mark, all good 👍
That’s awesome MATT!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Cheers buddy!
Hi matt Glynn. How's it going and another fantastic video well done and keep up the great work and still like the sound of the wood chipper
Really well thanks James, thank you glad you enjoyed it. It's one I will remember. Thanks for commenting.
Matt Glynn. U are very welcome anytime
Why did it have to come out?
The trees on the site have regular surveys. On this beech there was a large bracket at the bottom of the tree identified. The tree could indeed have potentially stood for a number of years but with its size and location I believe it was decided to remove the tree sooner rather than later by the school.
All good 👍👍Mark
All good Mark thank you!
Awesome MATT!!!
Cheers Carl!
What’s that pulley on a rope grab gizmo called? Looks handy.
Hi, if you mean the one on my lanyard its an ART positioner 2. Absolutely amazing device.
Fair play Matt that weather looked pretty naughty and you all just smashed it.
Nice one! yeah was not very nice that second day. I was really pleased we got it all down.
Good video
Cheers..Glad you enjoyed it.
Great work! Day 2 looked shit. I like your van coffee break haha. Are you using the MS 500i?
Yeah really bad day too, i was very happy to have a warm brew 😄 Yeah 500i, great saw!
@@MattGlynn Nice bro! I am hopefully going to get a 500 soon. UK summer ain't that great at the moment unless it is older footage. I think Australia has more sunny days in winter haha. Climb safe geeza!
Hi. I have one of these but ill be using it on a lawn for a bit is it ok to use without pads
Yes absolutely! The ladder works best on grass without the pads anyway ✅
You could do with a truck and chipper
I could indeed. Didnt need one for this job really. If I had one I would have brought it though definitely 😆
Hi Matt I have some really big conifers to cut down they are roughly 20 to 25 inch branches and the stump is roughly that size what Stihl chainsaw would you recommend I am looking at a good decent chainsaw like the Stihl ms 500 I c- m and the Stihl ms 661 c- m chainsaws what would you recommend tho
Yeah sounds good. The 500i would be the most versatile you can rock a 32/34" bar if its softwood. Then down to a 20" really. The 661 is great for big stuff but thats it really. The husky equivalent are good saws at the moment too.
Nice work bro! Sweet mini 10" bar.
Thank you! Yeah works well, had no issues so far.
That's my favorite saw too. 😎👍 I admit I'm jealous. I can't afford to buy a real ms200t, so I bought the clone of it, the G111. Lol
Shes a beast when running well
Good job .❤ how much you charged for this job ?
Cheers, wasnt my job so i dont know sorry.
I was anxious to see the final product. Beautiful job! I'm sure that the homeowner was pleased. I am in the much earlier years of growing willows and researching info on formative pruning to help keep trees at a more manageable height. Learning as I go. Thanks for the video.
Its very easy to take too much off. Yes they where please, i have been back since to do more work on the property. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.
Sir there is a hole in the cap to tighten cap have you tried putting a thin bar in the hole and applying torque ?
No i will take a look at that thank you 👍
Hi matt im 23 from a fishery and construction back ground previously and im looking to get into tree surgery what would be the best route in? I was thinking to try and get on as a groundsman at a local company, how ever if it would be easier after a traning course id be happy to pay out im just unsure as to which route would be the most benifical as theres alot of diffrent opinions on the arb fourms.
Hi, thanks for your comment. There is no right way but working for a professional will put you in good shape. I get my tickets first which put me in a good position to apply for jobs as I originally went the employed route. Im assuming your in the UK if so this video may help that I made back in 2017 😆 th-cam.com/video/qVFJBDMxNjk/w-d-xo.html
Hi mat just wondering what size bar you have on your big Stihl chainsaws
None of these saws where mine on this job. There was a 20" on the 500i and 32" on the 661 though.
@@MattGlynn hi Matt I need to cut some big conifers down but we want the stump cut I only have a small Stihl ms 181 chainsaw mine struggles to cut stuff like that but because we want the stump cut which chainsaw would you recommend we need like a 18 inch chainsaw what model would you recommend
Great vid Matt! Thanks for making this. You really captured the atmosphere of the comp 🙏🏼👍🏻
Thanks Mick really appreciate it. Was a great weekend. Huge thank you to you and all the organisers!
Awesome video, what climbing rope is that?
Thank you! Its the Edelrid woodpecker 👍
@@MattGlynn thank you, will be ordering that straight away 👍🏼🤣
@@craiggolightly1351 haha, its a good rope but it does fluff up easy. That being said for the price I would certainly buy one again.
That’s not a pine tree , deodar cedar I’d say
Yeah good shout, I didn't really take much notice, ill have a closer look 👍
Cheers for your efforts mate! Awesome job👌💪
Thanks buddy, was a great job. Thanks for having me 👍
Big Bruce here, was great to meet and work with you on this job. Super interesting seeing it from your point of view since I’m either on the ground or in the digger 😂
Haha no worries fella was great to meet you too 👍 you need a GoPro in your machine now 😎
All good 👍👍Mark
All good Mark 😎
Nice work would of been so much nicer for you with coms though
Always! For the amount of times I used them before. im not going to bother.
Another great video Matt - looking forward to seeing you again at the next reccy mate!
Cheers fella, yeah be great to see you again 👍
Thank you very much Mark Riggs 👍👍
No worries
Nice job I like the 1/4 bar and chain on my 194t is that what you were running on the Panther bar?
It is yeah. 10" bar on the 150T. I run the 12" on the 194T too. 👍
Good 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
All good 👍👍Mark were did you get your hoodie please
Bear Valley! Awesome clothing for tree work. Had this hoodie years! So robust www.bearvalleycompany.co.uk/
Where are they slings from for that speed lining?
I think their Lyon Slings, mixture of 120cm and 80cm. Loads of places do them online.
Appreciate it trying to make a speed line kit that don’t break the bank for 20+ springs at a daft price.
The hose pipe for all your speed line kit to hang on? If so that’s fucking genius! I’m going to have to try that.
Yeah, just a cheap quick thing i did. There is a small piece of metal wire in the core too. I keep it in my gear bag and clip all the stuff to it to keep it together - works great 👍
Clever dude Matt. I’m going to use that one. Appreciate ya
Tidy job! What's your mainline these days? I think you were using blue tongue in the past. How dies it compare? I'm using blue tongue at the moment but don't like it much. It seems heavy and feels like 13mm rope somehow...
Yeah blue tongue was awesome, a brilliant all around rope. Been using the Edelrid woodpecker for a while, ready for changing now though really. Its a nice rope, served its purpose but not very robust.
Hi Matt, how long is the Woodpecker youre using? Are you happy with it and the sewn splice? Thanks and Greetings from Germany
Hi, mine is about 35M yeah I really like it. I have found it pucks easily though. Its a webbing spice on my rope and its great. not had any issues with it. There are better ropes out there but this was great value for money. I would have one again.
@@MattGlynnThanks for the reply. I have had trouble sometimes retrieving the webbing splice through the different parts of the pulleysaver. Bit annoying so i went with a normal spliced end and im positively surprised by the woodpecker too. Keep up the nice vids 👍🏻
@@tillfalkenhof6735 I Don't use any Dort of cambium savers so I wouldn't know. I can se that being an issue though. Cheers thanks for watching!!
Hi Matt, how long is the Woodpecker youre using? Are you happy with it and the sewn splice? Thanks and Greetings from Germany
Hi Matt i want to ask your advice please,i have to trim a large area of thick lush grass thats to long and thick for mower to cut and drop, the fs 131 i use actually struggles a bit with it as always wet as well,do you think the jet fit would help in this situation,i normally use 2.7 starline line ,any advice would be much appreciated buddy.
Hi thanks for your comment! Yeah i think it would work good, ive enjoyed using it. I just think its always worth a try see what you think.
@@MattGlynn Thank you Matt for reply.
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
@@MattGlynn You’re welcome! Keep posting!
Great job! Will the branches take long to grow back? Worried I’ve over pruned mine!
I find the new growth does grow back pretty quick. I wouldn't say they are a fast growing tree though. Not the few I have worked on in the north of England anyway.
The rotation of your trimmer is opposite to the design lock of the Jetfit blade, you could bring the issue to Oregon
You can physically put the cord in facing anyway. Works just the same any way I found
WOW our magnificent Beech is having this treatment next Friday, now I can see whats involved....well done guys
That's great thanks for watching.
