one of the best bikes i had... i had 2001 RSV mille... 2003 Tunono... 2004 RSV 1000r...2013 RSV4 factory... all at the same time... and the mille was always special...
I know I’m a bit late to the party but that is a gorgeous piece of art. Thanks for the bimble around the country lanes. 😉
Just passed my mod2 and looking to get an 08 600rr as my first big bike ❤
GREAT video! I just simply used the OEM indicator plugs, moved them over to the TST lights, and left the DRL halo wire disconnected. I bought the green ones that were on sale for $12, compared to the full price it was a no brainer. I don't care much for the DRL Halo espeeacially not the green ones. I did all of this without cutting any wires, the OEM plugs can be removed with a little needle to unhinge the connectors from the wires.
im on my 3rd, it may not be modern bike fast, but it dont hang around, last month i clocked 161mph in 1.25 miles from a standing start
This was my first street legal bike. Put 17k miles on it, and I loved every single one of those miles

E-clutch goes up and down the gearbox without needing to use the clutch, but not an autmoatic gearbox? I don't get it.
The clutch is applied automatically, the rider is still in full control of the gears. It's a manual box on an automatic clutch. 👍
Is this sold in Japan ?
Not sure sorry.

I had a98 reg and I particularly liked the silver wheels it looked absolutely amazing with them suited the colour scheme far better than those boring black ones
Amazing, the old girl has aged like a fine wine 🍷
The Satnav arrows on the dash is standard with the app?
They are indeed, it's a decent system.
Where is the 2002 verson custom video?
The 900r was reviewed a few years ago, you'll find it in the bike reviews playlist. 👍
in my country this gen r1's are hated by many they say its unreliable and engine life is short is that true?
Thata interesting, in all honesty my only experience with this generation R1 was riding it for this review so couldn't really give an honest opinion!
I still got my honda fireblade 929RR year 2000 n i aint sellin it 75000 on the clock n it still kickin a$$
Awesome bike!
Allen Margaret Jones George Harris Margaret
im actually so in love with this bike
Me too, I have had a Ducati itch that has needed scratching for a few years now
Got mine 3 weeks ago and put 2k miles on it already if that helps anyones purchase decision ❤
Enjoy it! 💪
Have waited almost a year for this bike to release to the states. Almost bought a new 2023 model because I thought they were never going to release it to us. I finally have a 2024 ordered to come in next week 😁
Hope your enjoying the bike mate!
As much as I love all of the new trickle down technology of the new bikes there’s something raw about the ’98 R1. I still enjoy it for street use and mostly that midrange which starts pulling noticeable at 4.5 k. Had to call 21 dealerships to find one 😅 and ppl were paying over 3x MSRP in the USA ( which was about $8700 US if I remember correctly
It's still an amazing bike! 👌
Good review buddy. I bought a new one a couple of months ago with the gold wheels which I love. You give a very interesting and to the point review, I very often tire and will cut a video short but watched yours to the end. All I would say as a constructive comment is to try to keep your head more still and move slower as I had to listen to the last half as the quick constant movements gave me headache while watching. Well done, good review.
which helmet did You use during recording?
Found 1 that needs a few parts etc, on the plus side.... it runs, parts available still for a 2003?
Really nice video. I've been riding my 2015 R3 for 4 years now and I love almost everything about it... But while the maneuverability is neat, I wish to upgrade to a bike I can overtake effortlessly. This bike is a dream and the only thing really holding me back is the price of the plates for these. There's many going around at $5k (cad) so I'm looking forward to potentially getting one next summer. It's a big jump in power, but I'm not reckless and am fully aware this machine can output much more than I can handle. I just don't see myself parting from the R3 if not for an 05 R1. Sexiest motorcycle ever produced
I believe very much you must be seen while riding. I’m definitely switching to LED turn signals.
Clutch lever should be replaced by a rear break lever. It would give us more control on breaking.
I've been saying this for years and all my buddies look at me like I have 2 heads. In a pure EV bike or an automatic, I want left and right hand brake levers.
Then we wouldn't be able to perform clutch up wheelies
@@Julianperezvalencia indeed. Thanks for remembering about that.
@@JulianperezvalenciaYou know bikes were/are designed to stay on both wheels right? In no way when bikes were designed did engineers think "hey even though we have two perfectly working wheels on this thing let's make it to where they only need to use one" 😂
Is the Grand Prix Red only in the US for the 500R? Can't seem to get it in Australia.
I found a 2005 for $1k that was in someone's storage for 10 years. I Slowly rebuilt everything - rebuilt and dialed in front/rear suspension, completely rebuilt front/rear brake system, sticky DOT Pirelli SC-1's, dyna-tuned the engine, tore off all the plastics, bright as day Baja Design headlight, and mounted some mx bars on her. Omg - so much fun to rip around and commute on + occasional track day. Everyone wants my bike because they see how much stupid fun I'm having - life is good. Also added 3.29 gearing - yeee-haw!
I’m curious what the opinions of the masses will be for this when it comes to resale, whether the e-clutch model will have a sizeable advantage in that market. Hoping to test ride one at the weekend, see what all the fuss is about!
The E-Clutch looks like a great system, though I suspect the clutch lever will disappear in a few years, much like when electric starts first came in and bikes still a back-up kick start. I suffered a pretty serious hand injury some years ago, so clutches have always been a bit of a challenge for me. In fact, I had to pass on a couple of purchases simply because I couldn’t manage the clutch. Well done Honda!
If the clutch levers go away, I think they should start replacing it with a left-hand rear brake lever. I ride electric dirt bikes, and the LHRB is superior to the foot brake once you get used to it. You can always keep your feet in an optimal position on the footpegs, and you have so much more control with trail braking as you enter a corner.
I had a GSXR 1000 (K6) which later became my race bike, while my uncle had an 04 RSV 1000 exactly same colour bike as in video. I must honestly say that after getting off the gixxer, this bike feels like a cement mixer. Has nice torque in 1st, brings the front wheel up nicely but it does run out of steam quickly and feels like a torquey 600cc in comparison. The suzuki leaves it for dead and my uncle could not pull away from me when I had my previous bike (08 yzf R6). I wouldn't class this Aprilia as the most confidence inspiring handling either, again in comparison to the suzi. Those of you who do own the Aprilia, I urge you to ride a fuel injected modern inline 4 litre bike and experience how night and day it is. All that being said, this model rsv 1000 is a beautiful looking bike and sounding bike and if you aren't the most experienced of riders or aren't coming from an inline 4 fuel injected superbike and don't ride hard or near the limit then the Aprilia will be enjoyable but agreed on the slow speed clunckiness too. Just as a side note, my old man had a 96' 900 Fireblade at the time which had comparable performance, the blade perhaps being quicker still. No matter what we ride, we enjoy our own bikes the way we ride them. Take it easy folks, enjoy and be safe out there
Have owned 4 kawi ninja 600s starting with original 1985 red amd white demon from hell lol 3 later 2000 models. Save you time, no reviews needed.if it says kawasaki it is bad ass reliable fast good handling bike. Reviews goid for lusting new updates but bought all 4 of mine having never ridden that model. I know jawi.makes best 600 period, hell staryed with old gpz550. And kx 125s. Kawi never disappoints me.
What year is the rsv swing arm? I think I have the exact same one on my 99
The 1998 R1, designated YZF-R1K. I bought one brand-new in either March or April of 1998, and since there was already such a demand for the bike by the time it hit the Yamaha dealer showrooms thanks to the media hype, I was accused of leapfrogging the waiting list by another rider waiting to get his R1. Mine was the nice blue color that everyone knows as Team Yamaha Blue, although it's officially named Deep Purplish Blue Metallic Cocktail 1. I always thought the most notable features were the stacked transmission shafts allowing the longer-than-average swingarm. Well, that's beside the beautiful, high-tech, and light-weight styling of the bike. Yes, the bike even looked light in weight compared to other liter sportbikes. I owned and rode my R1 for three seasons and enjoyed it immensely. For street sport riding like I used it for, the engine was so torquey, you could go on one of your riding buddy's "street rides" (more like hooligan rides) and keep up with the other guys without revving the engine past 6,000 rpm if you chose. The bike always gave me a great handling feel, felt confidence-inspiring, has a fantastic engine for sport riding, strong brakes with excellent feel, good suspension, and killer looks that got you noticed. All-in-all, a very memorable sport bike for me.
Look nice and mascular
How do you have the hazard lights button. Can I get the link to that left controls unit or your video maybe 😊
I have a KTM SuperDuke 990R you can review! It's a 2007. A bit of of Beast. Was watching this vid as was looking to change to the CBR
Hi there, just come across this video. Very informative thanks. What make was your exhaust? Interested in the way it's mounted on that single clip. Thanks
Your front rims is damaged!!!
Well spotted! I've since fitted a brand new front rim 👍
I have black daytona 2008 with 40000kh ,and never change with anything else,is like new, nice review friend. Hello from Greece 🇬🇷
Dang it now I gotta sell my brand new 2023 cb650r to get this…thanks a lot Honda
That's exactly what I'm doing. Cheers mate!
new rider just got mine about 4 weeks ago i love it
Thank you for this nice review! I had this exact same model but sold it 12 years ago for my own safety.. it was too much fun :)
sorry for late comment, please answer, what rpm should i go on my cbr1000rr for casual riding ? if i go halfway of the max rpm like many say it tends to overheat, and im scared to go too low to not force the engine...i saw you go at about 3500, is lower ok ? or that should be a standard rpm, then set the speed using the gears, and once in a while go to 7-8k rpm to "make it cough" a bit
Your two year video is life changing my friend. You have a new 🇺🇸 FRIEND PLEASE FOLLOW AS I AM FOLLOWING YOU NOW. Thank you 🙏🏽 for the video
taking the clutch out of the equation is the future... if the computer can do it better, there's no need to have it... you still have control over the gears... you just don't have the hassle of clutch...
All that hard work making this video & it is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.
Great review mate. I've had my original red and white version for 16 years and even now every time I sling my leg over it, it still brings a huge smile to my face. The best bike ever made in my humble opinion.
I'm debating this or the NX500. Very hard to decide!!
