Endless perfect design from Honda. I should purchase one. This design never ever obsolete over time.
Can’t believe how cheap these are now. £4-5k. Incredible price for an incredible bike
Great vid mate thanks a lot
Hi, does the bike get hot due to the exhaust? Thank you!
Will it rev match like autoblipper while downshifing without using clutch ?
No it does not auto blip.
Does it come in black?? Or any other color scheme?
It comes in the gunpowder black or the tri colour I rode for the review
What size wash was it mate? I'm doing my coolant next weekend
You give a great range of info, and history, range changes, etc thanks
The fireblade was the original but decent review
Beautiful soundtrack ;) only motivates me to buy another RSVR
But on reviews, these 2 models have oil issue. And the most horrible model in Fireblade.
I have a '07 600RR, have loved every minute of it since I bought it. No electronics on it, so it is pretty basic which I quite like, but saying that I've not had the opportunity to try one. Sounds like a trip to Fowlers Bristol for a test ride! The price of this bike is very competitive, for the spec.and the 119 bhp is outstanding, good value for money. Quickshifter is one of the Items which I feel would be beneficial. Great to see the 600RR back and all the better for it. Great review.
Thanks for your kind words. I have an 08 600RR....the 07-08 is considered by many to be the best version of the RR 💪💪
How was the heat on the exhaust? Compared to other Kawasaki,Suzuki 600's?
I've no idea of the exact temperature but the silencer never got very hot at all
excellent review - Thank you. Do you think Honda will also launch in the US?
Thanks for the kind words! I dont believe there are currently plans for a US release, unfortunately. 👎
I'm amazed they got it euro 5 compliant while still getting 119 hp out of a 600. That was an impressive feat. And now with the superbike electronics package, it's right up there with the zx-6r for me.
Agreed, it's a fantastic achievement and amazing to see back on the roads!
I currently have a 2005 600rr and always daydream about getting a new one. Unfortunately here in Australia the new cbr600rr is $28,000. At that price, I can get a new zx6r and still have $10k left over. Even a Ducati v2 is still just cheaper. Also, the new fireblade is $53,000 AUD which is mind blowing.
Impossible... Here in Poland 600RR cost about 13,2k USD but ZX-6R cost 15,5k USD. Ducati V2 is even worse, because cost over 24k USD. I am going to get my 600RR in January... Hope you gonna get new bike anyway bro!
Definitely agree about the wing mirrors from the Fireblade it would of made it look a lot better.
100%. I can only assume it's in an attempt to keep costs down. Pity!
Nice review man! Getting mine next year!
Thanks for the kind words! Amazing news, you'll be very happy with it I'm sure!
For commuting i am seriously considering one of these despite having a full licence and a cbr1100 , the 80 mpg in a decent sized and fully faired chassis looks good
My kinda bike. At last a motorcycle and not a suv with 2 wheels. Just a fuel light is all you need, pointless electronics. Thanks Honda and thanks for the video. Think I will get a older one.
anyone know if it can be used as a quick shifter, basically want to know if you need to let off the throttle while upshifting
You can keep the power on while shifting up through the box
I wouldn’t be to hopefull for other manufacturers to follow. Not enough market for it. I’ve got a Honda cbr600 rr from 2009. Was my first bike a few years ago. Was my dreambike and still love it.. But I can’t ride it for more then 2 hours without backpain. Got myself a 24 mt09 as my main bike for longer tours. Still got the cbr tho. Love looking at it!
Yeah I share your thoughts there, such a shame! I'm blessed with a couple of bikes, my 08 cbr still takes pride of place in the garage!
Same here have a 2008 cbr600rr but wrist and back hurts at rides longer than one hour. Now cant decide between tuono660factory, mt09sp newest, upcoming honda hornet or upcoming mt07
Last of bikes like this, youngsters can't afford insurance.
It sounds great ,for the price, its a lot of bike .
It certainly is a lot of bike, I was really impressed with it.
Just a note, RR means road and racing, not race replica , great video 👌
Thanks for the kind words! I've always known it as either Race Ready or Race Replica. Maybe it has different abbreviations from other manufacturers?
It's race replica
What’s the difference in ergos between this and the 650r?
The 650r is much more comfortable, it has higher bars and lower footpegs. The 600RR puts you in a more of a racing position.
no fuel gauge? that's a massive ommision
Yeah, I found it a bit weird too. It is possible i missed it in the menus somewhere.
light comes up when there's 4l in the tank left, and it shows range left / or liters left, you can toggle it
I feel like i can breathe now
I had to do 150 mph officer as the quick shifter works better😎👍
😂😂😂
did he say swing arm is 150lbs lighter? 3:34
150 grams 👍
pretty sure he said grams
I bought a brand new TL1000S in 1997 and a new TL1000R in 1998. Wind forwards to 2024 and I've owned around 80 bikes since then. And amongst those, I'm up to owning two TL1000S and on my tenth TL1000R, having restored nine of them. Firstly, the TL1000S's biggest issue was the fuel mapping that it launched with. It was pretty much unridable in traffic. It took two weeks to get the revised ECU from the dealer and from then on, it was a sensational bike. I never fitted the recall issued steering damper kit. Sure it had a lively front end and the bars would flap about every time it was ridden hard, but when you knew what to expect, it never got out of control. Initially, swapping to my new R was a disppointment. The power delivery was more progressive and it just didn't feel as exciting to ride. But I always thought there was a better bike in there somwhere and I was right. Weight loss is what the big fat TLR needs, better brakes and improved suspension. My go-to is to fit busa 2 or GSX-R 1000 K5/K6 or K9 onwards radial bottom forks, monobloc Tokico calipers, radial front master cylinder, Ohlins/Penske/Maxton/Hyperpro shock, lighter GSX-R 1000 wheels or forged/carbon if you have the budget. A 55 section rear tyre improves the bikes turning, as does a 5mm drop of the forks in the yokes. Also essential is a full exhaust system - M4, Akrapovic, Arata or Ladybird and you can easily get down to just over 200kg wet weight. Things that aleays need doing when buying used: Seized brake caliper pistons Leaking fuel tank seal Fuel filter never changed Rust in fuel tank Corroded clutch slave cylinder/ push rod Clutch slave oil seal Countershaft oil seal Rotted bottom radiator Throttle body synch TPS adjustment And invariably, some uninformed former keeper has put in "heavy duty" clutch springs due to intermittent clutch slip. All that does is give a heavy clutch action. The issue is the two-part clutch centre ramp mechanism. Either replace with new parts or get the original compponents welded together in the correct position. Other possible problem areas are water pump mechanical seal failure, 3rd gear failure if abused and disintegrating exhaust valve shim buckets if valve adjustment neglected. Always inspect for hairline cracks and replace if required.
The engine is as closest to the famous Britten motorcycle that's why I bought the dl1000 after 140000 klm never had to open the motor.
What you prefer this or the Mille ?
Now that's a choice! I actually no own the bike I rode in this review so I'm a bit biased! From a riding perspective (especially on the road) they are both fantastic, but I do think the old Mille has a bit more charm.
Can you please have a review of the CBR954rr 🙏♥️
I'll see what I can do! Sourcing bikes to review seems to be getting harder and harder unfortunately
Test rode one today… put that deposit on one if you can… slow speed inner city stop and go traffic… the e clutch to the rescue! But open road, well grab the clutch and your manual again… love what Honda did.. looking forward to getting my own!!!!
Awesome! I was well impressed with the one I rode, fantastic little bike. Enjoy your new purchase!
For a beginner rider, would a 636 ninja be a good starter bike?
I would say so, as long as you keep it sensible. The super sport bikes are still massively powerful and plenty quick enough to hurt yourself on. Something a bit tamer like the Ninja 500R would probably be a better choice for your first bike, but I jumped from a 125 to a 600 20 years or so ago and never had any trouble! Safe riding! :-)
Need help.. Can anyone tell me how many turns the air screw? Tenks n advance
Can't help with specifics but I would start from around 2.5 turns out from fully seated. I would suggest checking the service manual or ask on a specific forum if you need the exact spec.
Good video but the music is unnecessary and distracting
Noted! This was a new style I was playing around with, I'm usually infront of the camera with a bike. I found it didn't really work for me so haven't done any other videos in this style yet. I'll give it another go with a different theme and take your comments on board. Many thanks,
@@FrontWheelUp great stuff man keep it up
Pickin my gen 2 up on Saturday can’t wait absolutely stunning bike at close to 20 years why not , full mot history checked things barely been run in
Amazing! They must be the bargain of the century at the moment, fantastic bikes and massively capable. I actually now own the bike I reviewed in that video and plan to do a how to series over winter with maintenance etc. Hope your enjoying it!
What year is the rear swing arm is it a 2006? looking to put one on my 1998 900rr
I'm not 100& sure sorry but looking at it with my own RSVR (2004) it looks the same. When I took this bike out I seem (again not100%) to remember being told both generation swing arms will fit into any old carbed blades as the mounting points are the same. Hope this helps,
@@FrontWheelUp thanks I actually thought it was 2004 or 2006 or something 👍👍👍👍👍
ooh, heated grip package and xtras, thanks!
Gotta keep those fingers warm!
Did you mention the slipper clutch? That is a big deal.
Yup, its a very well equipped bike especially considering its price point.
I see this bike as an absolute win, comfy yet sporty, easy, friendly, good looking, reliable... Only thing might the price but I think you are still getting good bang for buck.
If you are planning on keeping it for a long time you shouldnt care about the price. So long as the honda quality is there.
Agree with you there, I think the price is fair considering the equipment the bike comes with as standard.
That engine is a gem ! The reason I loved my dl 1000 so much . V twin power !!
Nothing quite like a V Twin rumble is there! :-)
one of the best bikes i had... i had 2001 RSV mille... 2003 Tunono... 2004 RSV 1000r...2013 RSV4 factory... all at the same time... and the mille was always special...
Amazing, I own a 2004 RSVR and its simply amazing but the old shape Mille has always done it for me. I would love to get a neglected one to restore on the channel
@@FrontWheelUp would love to watch it...
I know I’m a bit late to the party but that is a gorgeous piece of art. Thanks for the bimble around the country lanes. 😉
Its a beautiful bike isn't it! I only wish I could have spent a bit longer with it - it had incredibly low mileage for its age.
Just passed my mod2 and looking to get an 08 600rr as my first big bike ❤
Good choice, its an amazing bike. I've had mine for around 15 years now! Plenty of How To videos here on the channel if you need them. Ride safe!
GREAT video! I just simply used the OEM indicator plugs, moved them over to the TST lights, and left the DRL halo wire disconnected. I bought the green ones that were on sale for $12, compared to the full price it was a no brainer. I don't care much for the DRL Halo espeeacially not the green ones. I did all of this without cutting any wires, the OEM plugs can be removed with a little needle to unhinge the connectors from the wires.
Thanks for the kind words - nice idea, a cut free installation is always preferrable! Had I realised sooner the Euro bikes had different connectors I wouldn't have bothered with the running light, but being that I paid extra for it I figured I might as well run the extra wire to get it working. The only thing I haven't figured out is how to get the DRL to turn off when the signal flashes (like its supposed to)
im on my 3rd, it may not be modern bike fast, but it dont hang around, last month i clocked 161mph in 1.25 miles from a standing start
Amazing! It's a very underrated bike and is full of character - something you don't always get on newer bikes!
This was my first street legal bike. Put 17k miles on it, and I loved every single one of those miles
It's a fantastic bike, even by todays standards!
