Totally agree with your statement on harvesting vs. hunting. People that disagree will go eat a steak from a cow that was killed in a slaughter house by someone else. This way, you are participating in the life and death process that is purely natural. I envy your situation in that you can do that. The local PD would roll up here if I popped one of the deer on my property here in suburban Philadelphia lol. Another good video my friend.

My Varmint/Small game rifle is a CMR30 with a silencer. Living in city limits I'm stuck with a pump pellet gun for anything actually around the house.

I'd use your new 44! Just curious, do you get most of the deer ground up or what kind of cuts?

Me and the wife do it. I do a general cut with the hams, keep them into the football roast which we actually use as roast, then I separate the top and bottom rounds and keep them whole to freeze so I can either cut steaks from them as we use them or use em for jerky or roasts, back straps get cut into steaks of course, inner loin doesn’t even get cold, we cook those immediately lol. Front shoulders and neck all get put into grind cause we eat a lot of burger. We grind in 1lb of bacon with every 8lbs of deer for burger.

Being the animal lover I am, I can't just shoot an animal for being an animal and doing animal things. However, if I go out to have words with said animal and they don't agree with my side of the argument, well, I'm not afraid to escalate the issue. 😉
