G19 | Is It Glocks Red Headed Step Child?
Why does the G19 look so out of place in the 2025 Glock family tree?
The purpose of todays video is to look into why, quite probably, the G19 is a gun that just no longer makes any sense. I'm of course not using the title literally since G19 is original Glock lineage. That being said, why is it then that G19 is the Glock folks often tell me they have and wish they didn't.

Holster ENHANCEMENT | Simple Upgrades for Your Holster
Cool video. But you said it yourself, the trigger is the only thing keeping the 320 from sending something down range. If it was sitting in a great and protective holster, why would it go off?
The ziplock bag seem like a good idea should use some left over from my AT. I had this Ifak on my blue alpha belt seem ok. Idk about any others that own the same Ifak but the elastic part that holds a TQ the end where the windless clip where I put my TQ ha some wear like it flare out. Seem to still have a good hold but just worn a bit l. Is this just mine or anybody else have this same issue?
Why you wearing so many layers down south? Lol
Jacob! it was literally 30 degrees outside that morning 😂😘
Great video. As an Hk fanboy turned Glock fanboy I think the 19 will always be a great "do it all gun". I like that it takes larger mags like the 33 rounders, great service or home defense gun, etc. I don't have a 43 but do have the 48 and I think it's great for carry, but I have lot's of glocks. I think if I could only have or afford one, a 19 might be the one I would get. However, I think the 45/19x is probably close to the best "do it all" gun out there.
Jon! You know I was just talking those points to a friend the other day - shared mags between 19/17/34 - which during honey wars would matter - 19 is like Jack of all, master of none.
@@TacticalFellowship Agreed!
This is a dumb take, sorry sir.
Oh come on, not dumb, nearly quasi intelligent for sure!
Ok go wiggle it back and fourth and left to right and watch em fall rite out. The fitting on all 3 generations are trash. The will feed if it dont fall out on you prematurely. I wouldnt put your life on it just my opinion 💪🏻
just wiggled till I could wiggle no more - stayed in - using Shield Arms mag release, you using OEM mag release?
@TacticalFellowship using the mag release they provided with the mag. Works good but fits sloppy
G19 is gun perfection.
but do you have skate tape on the grip? If not, perfection alludes you;)
@ 🤣🤣🤣 No I don’t! El Stocko
I couldn't disagree more. The 43x is cool serves a purpose but in the end the 19 set the bar for carry guns. It's not the red headed step child it's the standard.
You have your 43x and 19 on a table - You telling me you REALLY pick 19 over 43x the majority of days 😬
43x is pointless in my opinion, the only argument for it imo is if you live in a 10rd mag restricted stage. Hype is why the 43x is popular not performance, the G26 is easier to shoot and conceal, and the G19 is not much bigger to conceal. It's ridiculous. I bought a 43x first, then bought a G19.. and was like wow this isn't harder to conceal at all and shoots FAR better and I'm 5'9 160. Then I sold my 43x for a G26 and I'll never go back, most parts, all mags and holsters are backward compatible between my 19/26 🤷🏾♂
Glock is outdated. Yea they were the first gun and then other companies made it better lol
G19 and G26 shoot alot better than the 43X
In some ways yes, 19 shoots good, I used it for a season of multigun competition, it did well. I wouldn't try a season of multigun with a 43x though...
Brilliant rage bait. great production btw.
appreciate the production nod good stud, ruminated on title for months 😂
Yea the 43x has no place in this conversation. No rail to mount a light. No mag compatibility with the larger glocks. And it’s to small to fight with its also to big to pocket carry.
totally correct pocket gun comment, 43x ain't a pocket gun for sure...
this man doesnt understand the glock 19
19 and I are friends but lately only hang out on the holidays...
After transitioning from a S&W model 10 then S&W 5943 eventually we were issued Glocks, I carried two different G19s as Duty Weapons for 20 yrs as a Uniform Officer then a Detective. I've been retired for 2.5 yrs now and I still primarily carry a G19 every once in a while my G26 will get worn. IMHO the G19 is Perfection 👍🏽
My G19 is a beast, very much like 19 base & the performance I can squeeze from it, it's just for CCW I've been using the 43x the last year and never pick up the 19 - Out of curiosity do you have a 43 or 43x?
Never once have I ever called the Glock 19 "a bulky gun"... it's incredibly easy to conceal year round unless I'm wearing very specific items of clothing
out of curiosity, would you be tempted though to try a 43x for a season of carry or nah dawg not at all?
@@TacticalFellowship It's definitely a consideration yeah
@ I have been thinking about it because I wear a suit to work and it would be easier to conceal than a 19 in the 3-5 o’clock position
I’m sure this guy is very confident and capable but I just generally disagree. The 19 is for ccw what the 17 isn’t so saying that you want the longer 45 grip with the shorter barrel makes no sense. It’s the grip that prints not the barrel so if anything you would want the opposite a longer barrel with a shorter grip. Also the 43x isn’t saving all that much in weight here we are talking about fractions of an inch larger. I get that there is new hotness and as a guntuber you need to evaluate and use the new versions but that doesn’t mean new is better. If you ccw a 45 then you can ccw a 17 or a 34 since it’s all the same length frame grip. I bounce back and forth between 17 and 19 for ccw. I tried the 43x but felt I shot the 19 better, especially with a weapon light they feel exactly the same with a minor weight diff. I mean the 43 x he is using has a comp which brings it to about 17 length. At this point what is the actual difference.
Yeah theres no reason a 45 exists really. If you can conceal it then you can conceal a 17 (Which is better) if you don't need to conceal it... carry a 17 or a 34... which are both better. UNLESS you're going to have a designated compensator. But even then you could just port a 17...
@@Iamschusty I use comps on basically all my guns, scientific recoil reducing gains for the same length as the 17, big comp user here with +p+ ammo - which ironically also makes the 43x a much better shooting gun than it should be
45 is multigun for me, the 43x you saw is interesting bc it's got a built i barrel comp which keeps it at actual 43x length (otherwise it would be at G48 length and yes thus, at that point, same length as G19
The 43x is for guys that want to look like a lumberjack but can't swing an axe 🪓.
why not just get a G17?
I'm a comp man, if I bring the gun 17 length I need a benefit
Could not disagree more
I dont like the slander youve spread about the glock 26. It takes all of the double stack mags you could put in it. Plus i kinda have tiny hands to it fits me perfectly. End of the day its the gun youre comfortable with that you should get. Get your gun and fucking train.
Meh
Apparently, they can go off. Several videos documenting and many clams
The purpose of the G19 is to have more shoot ability than the 43x and still be able to have a shorter grip than a full size gun. You said just shoot a G45 but that is a full size grip. I’d rather just carry a G17 at that point. It’s the grip size that matters in concealment, not the barrel length. To say that the G19 is no longer relevant is not well thought out.
I was saying G45 if you're looking for a OWB holstered gun for comp or whatnot, no reason to choose G19 for that roll over G45 but if you're IWB the 43x just rocks
Not a guaranteed winner for today's silliest click bait title but a serious contender. Click away and watch something else. Anything else ....
bro you know this is the best title you saw today, it actually resonated in your soul, deeply, bc you G19, which is why you feel the pain;)
3:04 HUH?
I still like my Gen. 4 Glock 19.....no problems!
I carry the glock 19, I feel it recoils let than my 43x
One of the opinions of all time
The bulky carry gun statement is hilarious. I tell myself the same thing about my mp compact 2.0 9…then put on my 365 lmao
Is this good with reliability without a Nielson since 22 cans are so light?
yep totally reliable as is, no Nielson required:)
The G19 is perfection. Capable as a full sized pistol, concealable, reliable, accurate.
G19 performed admirably during that one season I used it for Multigun;)
This guy is just speaking out his 🍑
When you’re a petite lady…None of the Glocks are obsolete….the one I carry (including the 43) depends upon weather and attire. 😘 Glock->because it works.
Maybe some of us don’t have a choice but to trick out the 19, Commifornia for ya .
The title of this video 👌😂
🤷🏻♂️🤌🏻
Trying to decide between a g43x or a g19 for a one and done edc gun . So confusing
At this stage of the game I really think 43x edges out G19 - that's my advice;)
Go, g19. More mag and aftermarket options. Great for edc, home defense, and duty. Better ergonomics for training .
@@SergioGarcia-lu5yoyou shouldn’t be doing anything crazy aftermarket wise to a carry gun
Glock 48!
@@Furiouspenguin27 I never said put aftermarket parts. I just added a better feature on the 19 over the 43x
OR is G19 first born, did everything right in life BUT parents forget him & his dull perfection whilst new kids (45, 43x, 48) steal the spotlight?!? Either way G19 KIT PAGE is LIVE! Check it out for all them next steps! www.tacticalfellowship.com/
@@TacticalFellowship this is a much not fitting approach
I don’t think obsolete is an accurate term.
Did the Army require Sig to put a manual safety on the M18 because the 320s randomly self detonate? Just curious
19x Black pistols are so 80s plus you get marine cups standard from factory.
Where do I get this?
You should try the version 4!
Oh man they have a v4!?!
@@Thriller-willer no they only have 3
Had mine when it first came out and absolutely love the gun! As you said super accurate and just all around fun to shoot!
Still one of my favorites- recently put a red dot on it and it’s even cooler!
Bean counters ruin every affordable item by rendering otherwise functional designs inoperable through cheap, crappy parts and skipped assembly and QC operations. This is true throughout the entire spectrum of consumer goods. One day in the not too distant future people of modest means will find themselves intentionally priced out of the economy.
Nice video. Valid points, need to have a thumb safety for appendix carry or a heavy trigger, trigger safeties only and AIWB carry is reckless.
thanks stud, you and me only seeing the point of this;)
Use paiters tape to keep from marring the slide
yes, I actually use painters tape now on the blocks
Did you put red loc tite around the front sight?
blue, hope you have better luck!
Been trying to find out how people angle body cameras to get this angle when firing, and turns out it's just a head camera lol. Makes so much sense
yep! gotta slap a GoPro on your head!
Glock hit the jackpot with the G45. I know others will disagree and say other models of Glock, but this is the best overall, most well-balanced gun from top to bottom that Glock has produced! (Sorry guys, not the G19, G34, G17 and so on)
agreed, I think this is the one if you can have only one
Not that durable I've had 3 fail on me in 2 years and probably only around 5k rounds. It is by far my most unreliable gun part aside from my shitty 1911 (it's actually a bad one don't get the Remington r1)
ughhhh that's a terrible bit of luck for you stud! I have my beef with Trijicon RMR but not even close to those kinda issues
