  • Is basic based OR just a good base? The purpose of this video is to unravel the value of the basic Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Target for even though it's a base model in the extreme, I believe there's great potential underneath.

    the mk iv was based on the japanese nambu, not the luger.

      correct but to me it just looks like the P08 Luger:)

      No it's definitely a Luger, Luger became Ruger after the war

      @@joshlower1 I don't think this is correct.

      I think nambu is inspired by Luger

    Since the Ruger pistol is an idea after looking at the P-08Luger, the Nambu, and, the venerable Ol' Betsy of Mike Hammer 1911, all of which were designed for single hand operation, I believe that a two-fisted Weaver standard or modified stance robs the experience of such a firearm, and lowers it to just plain gorilla-izing it., in a fashion similar to the use of a late-night tv super kitchen knife when a well-used santoku or gyuto does the trick.
    As a Boy Scout, I was medaling in the Junior NRA, and I had the pleasure of shooting 1911-framed pistols chambered in .38Super. I am glad for that training, because, as a Security Augmentee at a B-52 base, I was stationed in the back 40, with an M16 and an SandW Model 15, that served me.

      interestingly the grip on this thing, being as large as it is, makes a two fisted hold supremely comfortable... that and it's the grip I use across all platforms to keeps things simple:)

    Only because I use it, like you mentioned with the different uppers - shooting Steel Challenge I use the same lower and swap between an Irons top and a red dot/comp with the push of a button. Hard to beat getting two guns for sub $750 even with the mods.

      Brother you nailed it, multiple upper solutions for me as well off the lower… did you do anything with the stock trigger or leave as is?

      @@TacticalFellowship haha, every part I could replace/upgrade to Tandemkross has been done. I laughed when you mentioned the finger pinch if you don't let it go, that "halo ring" was my first upgrade and I love it so much.

    So I bought the Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Tactical for an accurate suppressor host. I'm curious why you chose your pistol set up over that one. Considering the only benefit you cite is that the pic rail is built into the upper, is there an additional benefit? Or does it just make you happier with it that way? Seems like we are both after the same thing, Just looking for incite.

    • @TacticalFellowship
      @TacticalFellowship  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      integrated pic rail, shorter barrel by like 1.5 inches and no pic rail underneath barrel (aesthetic reasons) would be the additional difference

    So at 4:15 he is saying the Ruger Mark IV Target will be good for 200 years. Very cool.

    • @TacticalFellowship
      @TacticalFellowship  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      perhaps yes, the bolt is kinda an aesthetic thing for me. I like a flat looking back rather than the portruding look of the volq bolt. I'm sure though if you used it I'd love it though:)
