Im nervous about the GACE test, does anyone have any tips or aids im especially worried about the math.

Great video! One quick suggestion. It looks like you might have room at the tables for three children's chairs on the length of each table (no chairs on the width). This would mean you still have groups of six but no children would have their back to the board, at least for the front three tables. Hope this isn't overstepping and helps. Have a great year.

I have a feeling this playlist is going to help me decide if this might be the route to go! I got an associate's degree ten years ago with every intention of becoming a teacher, but I only took a few classes on teaching. After having my second baby, the dream fizzled down. 4 amazing kiddos later, I think it's time to step back into my personal calling since my youngest will be in preschool this year 😅 anyway TMI I guess but I'm thrilled to have found your channel

Great video! You are right on with all of these points! Teaching gets tougher and tougher each year...it's never ending. I've taught for a long time and the amount of extra work gets more and more each year even if the "teaching" part gets a bit easier.

Great videos! I am retiring this year after over 13 years of teaching and am going to be a substitute teacher. Teaching these days is SO MUCH HARDER than it used to be. The students are tough and I was working 24/7 doing what was expected of me (grading, data research and inputting into documents, weekly newsletters to parents, lesson planning, IEP updates to resource teachers, plus many more). Teaching is way more than just teaching....it is working after school and on weekends to keep up with all of the extras that most new teachers never get to experience until they actually start teaching and then they are overwhelmed and then many of them don't stay.

This was an amazing video. I found it a few days ago prepping for my special education para position. I dont know until a second interview at the district office if I get it...but the questions you listed were almost exact! Congratulations on your teaching position! 🎉

I currently work with 7 students in my classroom. Im getting one more when summer school starts on the 10th. Let me tell you, having smaller classroom sizes are a godspeed!❤

Hi Kristen. I really enjoy and appreciate your content. I have worked as a x-ray / mammogram technologist for the past 35 years. Next week I am interviewing for the position of a 1 to 1 special education paraprofessional. I am nervous about the career change but I know I’m ready. I have a bachelor’s degree so maybe some subbing might be in my future too. I know I will be taking a somewhat large pay cut but I think I just want to serve a different group of people before I retire.

Do you mind sharing some of your struggles as a first year teacher that made you want to quit for those of us who are thinking about becoming a teacher? I keep seeing so many of these videos where first year teachers are quitting but no one is really explaining the real reasons behind the sudden change of being happy to be a first year teacher to the next year they are leaving the profession.

I found this video incredibly helpful, I don’t have much experience working with special education kids. I’ve done summer camps and soccer coaching for younger kids (elementary school age) throughout high school, so I’m hoping at least some of that experience can be applied in this setting. Tomorrow, I’m starting my first day as a substitute para and I had a long talk with my sister who actually worked as a para in the same district before she moved elsewhere. I was having trouble getting my nerves under control because I want to do this and be good at it, but I realize i’m going to make mistakes and that’s okay as long as I learn and do better or take a different approach the next time. I’m hoping to get a full time para job out of this if it’s something I enjoy…I was told that could be an option if certain schools “like you” enough (and that would be in time the more I sub at certain schools). So…I will see how tomorrow goes! Thank you for this video and the tips are incredibly helpful for someone like me!
