How Much Prize Money I Earned as a Non-Pro Runner in 2024
มุมมอง 7K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
Not many runners, professional or otherwise, openly discuss their earnings from prize money. While I’m not a professional athlete, I’m a sub-elite runner who loves to compete, and here’s what I’ve made this year. Disclaimer: Chasing prize money isn’t my priority. I aim for fast times and competitive fields, which often means I lose money on travel expenses. Sure, I could race smaller events wit...
How To Run Faster | 3 TIPS for Distance Runners
มุมมอง 14Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Running faster requires consistency, recovery, and mindset. Consistency means showing up regularly so your body gets stronger over time. Understanding this has helped me stay committed to daily training, knowing that every run builds on the last. Recovery gives your body a chance to rest and rebuild, helping you avoid injuries. By prioritizing recovery, I’ve learned to train smarter, not just h...

Not Arizona. Utah is freezing
I would be interested to know how you pick your shoes for each workout/run as well as which shoes fit you best and why
It's interesting to see how much you're running off feel! Like even doing a long run without your watch and it seems like you don't care about HR etc! Is that so? If so why? Felt refreshing kinda!

Sheesh bro!! Big week of running!!
Right on Habs! Good week. I'm impressed that you are willing to run clockwise on a track. So many runners - even very good ones - cannot pull it off. It's not like they would suddenly get injured or something. It's simply that they've never thought of it. You have to be capable of original thought, and even Ingebritsen doesn't seem to be. You are. I think that's great I will be watching!
hey just wanted to ask what's the difference between running clockwise and anticlockwise do ordinary athletes run anticlockwise?
@hemidoori5049 Nearly all only turn left. They run counter-clockwise. Races are run that way, so it's ingrained in people's minds. It like this: An ice cream float is a scoop of ice cream in a glass of soda. The most famous combination is root beer and vanilla, even though root beer is nowhere near as popular a drink as cola and many people prefer chocolate, for example, over vanilla. Yet nearly all people would order that, which is to say, 2 flavors they don't like much put together. To do otherwise requires you to come up with a combination you've never seen nor heard of - an original thought. If you can't do that, you're stuck with root beer and vanilla. And if you've never seen or heard of anyone running clockwise, you have 2 choices: Think for yourself, or do what everybody else does. That is why people won't train clockwise. Salazar's protoges did. Mike Smith's do. Ritz used to approve of it too. But high schools don't and after that, minds are hard to change.
@@hemidoori5049its common to do warmups or cooldowns in the opposite direction of a session to help with hip imbalances likewise many runners will do stuff like mile repeats in lane 8-9 for the same reason
As a current Professional with New Balance, this is great stuff. Back when I was a 3:46/8:00/13:48 guy, I was cold emailing and DMing any coach and agent I could find. Letting them know I was interested and wanted to run after college. Whether they took it serious or not, I was serious, eventually I got faster and when I was at meets the coaches or agents would say hi, because I laid a small foundation of reaching out, I did get some phone calls even as a 13:48 guy. Take a chance for those who want to run after college!!
Watching all the ads so bro can get that YT dough
You a legend dog
Hell yea!
keep up the content!
I don’t think the Phoenix Rock ‘n Roll half will have any prize money, I won the San Jose half this October and got nothing 😭
Think long term. Start a running related business. Need to pay the bills
Habs I wanna go on a run with you.

Congrats on your season Habtamu. You should also look into the Rock 'n Roll Las Vegas half marathon ... I think they offer $1000 for first place. I appreciate your transparency and your drive for success. Also, I am the guy in the goofy shorts standing behind you at 5:32 in the video. It was a pleasure to meet you this year.
