MTB Mt Coot-Tha Reserve - in the rain
We were supposed to be doing the Hiddenvale shuttle rides on this day but it was cancelled due to all the rain over the past week.
We all decoded to ride at MT Coot-Tha instead.
It was not supposed to rain but ended up being one of the wettest rides I have ever done.
What made it worse is that none of use had ridden our bikes for months as we had been having too much fun on our motorcycles recently so the confidence and speed was down.
We did however have one of the best rides ever. We all had heaps of fun.

Hi! I took a look at your TH-cam channel and noticed a few issues that might be affecting your views and subscribers.Which is why your video is not ranking. Would you like to chat about it?
These Lone Rider lights are truly impressive, both in design and functionality! 🔥 The installation on the Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer looks amazing, and it’s inspiring to see how well it integrates with the bike’s system. Here in Brazil, we know auxiliary lights are prohibited by law, and importing them comes at a high cost. Even so, it’s impossible not to want such an amazing setup! I’m already planning to install them on my GS1250. 🚀 Oh, and the rubber strips and bar curvature solution was such a practical and efficient idea. Congratulations on the production and for sharing these incredible ideas! 👏👏
Hi, could you please list the accessories you added to the configuration? What's the OBD adapter used for? Thanks
Another question: which one of the rubber strips did u use? I guess that the bend in the upper crashbar is not such a big problem then?
I did use the thinest rubber strips but mainly just so that I do not have metal on metal.
I did have the same set-up: 20 mm Voigt in the rearward position. But after I installed machineartmoto's ADVance handguards I had to swap the 20 mm for 30 mm to prevent damage to the fuel tank.
@garreltvanhall4258 I had that issue as well so I just tilted up my bars. It makes it even better for offroad riding in my opinion.
Sorry why change this support navigation with to evotech ?
@GiuseppeV88 Hey mate. Im not sure what you are asking me?
Nice video, im waithing for mine to be delivered in December. Do you have a ezcan gen2 like the advised on there site. I have Africatwin AS DCT1100 2023 model. I ask the team if the motocan will work on my Honda dct. The reverd me to hex ezcan Sahara gen2
Yes. I have the Hex gen2 and the screens look exactly like they show for the Motocan.
@@ADV-Rider-Dude splendid , good news. I hope you sort it out with configuration. I hope you make a new video 😁
Thank you for your video. I have the same bike as you. Are you saying you need to program the Hex ez can when it’s on the bike?
They don't have to be on the bike as far as I know but you will need 12 v power to the hex and have the lights plugged in so that you can scan for the lights and pick them up. You will then get the Lone Rider configured screen that is not there till it picks up the lights. But it will be easier to do the config once you have it all installed on the bike.
They are damn good lights! And the programming, too. They're so cool.
Hi Alan, I have also purchased the same lights. Are you happy with the light mounts that came in the box? Looking forward to watching your installation. 👍
Hi - Yes. I found the mounts that they put in the box perfect for me. I just used the clamps and did not need to use the l brackets at all with my upper crash bars as they are.
Record a full installation guide
The lights are already installed now but I will make a video showing the wiring routing and how I setup the ezCAN software.
I posted a new video showing my installation.
Why a blurred dash for a snail pace in twisties? Ok for the urban area, though. Nevertheless, we see the speed on the phone navigation.
Just bought one but will try it first on Manchester Ring of Red on Remembrance Sunday. QUESTION...Where are you pal Looks bloody amazing!!
This was the last part of our ride in the mountains just outside of Brisbane. Mount Glorious.
@@ADV-Rider-Dude No bloody wonder my mates didn't come back to UK!
@@stevepecket2535 I've seen your roads. You can keep them.😄
invest in a set of nd filters, they make a big difference. they will make your footage next level, bring down your shutter speed for more motion blur and bring down the over exposed look.
Ohh I got a solution for ur helmet .. use a lav mic inside ur cheek pad and just stick the receiver to the side of ur helmet .. I use scotch extreme fastener tape.. also Lower the db to -12.. take a peak on my last video and I show an example.. yeah the mic is small but annoying inside the helmet .. my setup is easy to charge back up as well
Thanks heaps mate - ill take a look.
@@ADV-Rider-DudeI concur with this suggestion. DJI sell a lav mic which should work perfectly and if you mount your existing Mic 2, which will then become your wireless audio transmitter, to the outside of your helmet or somewhere else where you can easily reach it, I believe it can double as a remote control for starting and stopping recording on the Action 5 in a similar way to how it works on the Osmo Pocket 3.(TIP: Mount the DJI Mic 2 transmitter to your helmet so you don't have to remember to unplug every time you take it off) I use a dirt cheap generic lav from Amazon which works fine but others weren't so lucky with this hit or miss approach.
Its to bright I always bring it down -1.i personally didn’t care about high bitrate but as I just switched over from a GoPro I never used the high nitrate on the GoPro either.. overall my big issue is how large my files are from how long the battery lost.. as long as we got 10 bit color I’m good .. slap an nd filter and the motion blur will negate the pixel peeping people are making .. I think the purchase was worth it
Looks great! Thanks!
So do they have play in them along the pivot. I heard that some brands like Puig have some slop in them that just doesn't feel like a solid replacement.
There is a very tiny bit of play in the clutch but not because of the lever. I have been meaning to tighten the cable for some time already and that should take any play away.
Don't understand how can you have a Chanel on you tube being so Dum...
Could you please provide the product link to purchase
Their website is www.vmt.de. The product is on voigt-mt.de/Handlebar-risers-20-mm-for-Triumph-Tiger-1200-Rally-Explorer-22
Still garbage
The video did not upload the way I hoped it would. I just had a look at some instructions as to how to upload HLG video. I'm busy trying again. It looks very good on my computer so I hope the next attempt is better. The file being uploaded now is over 200GB so it will take a while I think. This was on the lower bit rate as well. I haven't yet tested the higher bitrate. This video was not intended to compare but merely to let people know that it was available.
If you want to know a good camera review you really need to watch a review from a videographer.. This is a real world review by a vlogger not a n editor. For example. All editing software has a properties button which will tell you the data rate of the file. Therefore this vlogger could have told us exactly what the higher data rate is.. 💯 Great Real world none editor point and go review
I just returned my OA5P to the seller. I think they cannot fix the problem. But overall additional settings are great.
@@CraeInYourArea Yes. I have found that the bit rate of the 5 is only 90Kb/s whilst the OA4 and 3 bitrate is 130kb/s . This will explain the greater dynamic range of the 5 but with lower resolution. But filming in D log M ten bit on the OA3 or OA4 gives superb dynamic range .. The best settings for the 3 or 4 is to shoot in 4/3rds at 4K . This is recorded in r709 colour at H265 .. Perfect for you tube when cropped to 16:9 and rendered at H264.. Using the whole sensor always delivers beautiful dynamic range and does not require the massive processing power of a professional graphics card Pc.. as r709 delivery is the You tube colour profile straight out of the camera... check out my Glen coe vlog .. The detail and colour depth are pushed to the extreme to capture the day in glorious clarity :)
The HDR version has completed processing now and to me it looks pretty good. I am interested in your opinion and if you still think it's crap I'd be interested to know why you think so. This video was recorded on the lower bit rate as well. I haven't yet tested the higher bitrate. This video was not intended to compare but merely to let people know that it was available.
great video, thanks! how did you run the cable from the GPS down to the thunderbox?
Thanks a lot. I'm pretty sure that one of my other videos covers the wiring. I have wired up a few things from the front to the back now and I pretty much just push the wires through on the right side of the bike with a plastic wire pusher that you can get very cheaply from just about any hardware store. It beats taking the plastic panels off.
Ma che senso ha mettere un cupolino più basso su una moto che da sopratutto poca protezione al vento!? Va bene in Italia quello basso ma da voi in UK che piove sempre non ha senso!! ✌️
It offers plenty of protection at lower speeds when in the up position. A low screen in the low position is great when doing offroad and also great here in Australia in summer when you really want wind on your face to cool you down.
Bonjour. Alaan,thank you~you shared interesting picture. 👍
How many ftlbs did you Torque them to?
Hey mate. The settings are in the video.
nice , please advise which Model Barkbusters are you using , also does it hinder the cables or wiring etc, when you turn to extreme left or right , seen some reviews as such
Hi. I believe that these are the ones I have: barkbusters.net/products/vps/bhg-102/ I don't have an issue with cables or wiring on my bike. Maybe other people are fussier than I am.
@@ADV-Rider-Dude thanks mate , much appreciated

Salve Alan, ho acquistato gli stessi riser 20mm WM che vorrei montare sulla mia GT pro. Come cambia la posizione in sella ? E' piu' confortevole per braccia e schiena nei viaggi piu' lunghi ?Grazie
Hi - I have definitely found that the riding position is much more comfortable with the bar riser. I also moved the bar to the position nearer to me.

Very nice video, which manufacturer is the handlebar riser from? Thank You Thomas
Brand is HeliBars. Looks like the model is Tour Performance.

Grazie mille, mi hai dato un idea per la mia Tiger 900. Saluti dall'Italia 👋
I wish I could fit my Speed Twin 1200 levers to a Trident (my next bike). I got the expensive optional ones with the bike and they would look far better on the Trident than the OEM ones, but they are not even offered as an optional extra.
What is the wire puller/pusher thing called. The thing you use to get the wires to go between the fairings?
Hi. If you just Google 'cable puller tool's you will get the right results.
I want a GPS for my new Tiger 900, but I want a mount system that does not mount to the wind screen bar. So, i am still researching
@@frankmoralesiii6908 Have a look at Evotech. I have seen a solution from them for the 900 that mounts very solidly to the back of the instrument display screen.
Isn’t the power from the port near the TFT sufficient for the GPS ?
It is if you want to keep plugging it in all the time. I would not wire it in there though. Modern bikes are very sensitive to that type of thing and would most likely throw up an error.
Hi Alan, How did you buy the GPS mount. No one wants to deliver to SA
Hey mate. I assume you mean South Africa? If so then I know what you mean. I recently had to send a 10-page document to South Africa. My brother warned me that if I send it via normal post then it would never get there so I had to courier it. It cost me $200 AUD. Crazy. No wonder no overseas vendors want to send anything. If they sent it as normal post they'd be reimbursing most people. I got mine delivered directly from the supplier to my house in a couple of days.
@@ADV-Rider-Dude Went via via and made a plan. Items ordered and will get to sunny South Africa soon. I thought you were in SA . Your accent?
@paulharten1525 HaHa. Yip. You got the accent right, however I've been living in Brisbane for 19 years now already. That accent is stuck mate.
Hello ! Thank you for your answer and best regards 👍
Hello, thanks for the advice! where to buy "Thunder Box".I am from abroad.Thank you again and best regards.
I think that it's best to go to the supplier website.www.healtech-electronics.com/products/tb/ You can but direct from them or see where they have distributors in your country.
Thank you for showing us this! I'll be picking up the 2024 model this week and was wondering if this was a task best left to the overpriced dealership, or something I could do. :)
Anyone can do it in my opinion.
I ordered all of these parts for this installation. So far so good. I'm just waiting for the sumitomo plug. Thanks very much!
Wife just bought this bike. She’s getting the same risers
Nice . This one was the neatest option in my opinion.
I struggled with placing the bike on the center stand also at first. Then realized that you push down with your leg more than you pull with your arms. It seems natural to want to pull with your arms, but it’s more about leg pressure with this bike. Really drive that stand into the floor as you pull back on the bike and it’ll pop right up. You can do it with loaded panniers and top case once you get the hang of it. Thanks for the video!
I'm always interested in mods for my Triumph but I'm wondering what the shift problem was in the first place? To me the shift works great or am I missing something?
That’s an apt observation. The very few times I’ve felt any slop or “gitchyness” in my shifts, I’ve chalked it up to my big feet being lazy or to my timing/sequencing just being sloppy. Late in the day kinds of things. When Spring get here, I’ll get out and make more cogent observations. 👍
It was never bad. It was good but with a small amount of room for improvement. The part is not expensive, so I thought I'd give it a go. It does make the shift to the gear nuckle more rigid and rigidity is good. I did notice a definate improvement on my bike but all bikes will be slightly different so who knows. For others it might make no difference at all.
Alan, thank you for doing this. I’ve been lazy in the research department, but I remember last Autumn wondering if there was a way to smooth out the shifts. I concluded that my technique is perfect (HA!), so it’s on to a device to effect an improvement. I’ll look into this piece. Thanks kindly!
Re Centre stand. You do NOT try and pull the bike up. You put the stand down so that both feet are touching the ground. Be confident that the bike won't fall away from you. Both feet MUST be touching the ground. Hold the rear and front of the bike and simply put your right foot on the stand arm and press down. You are basically doing a one leg press on the stand arm. It will pop right up. I actually have more trouble getting it off the stand but it's just a matter of confidence.
Thanks for the advice. I always put the stand down so that both feet are touching the ground. The problem is that pressing down with my right foot does noting. You can only press down till you press down hard enough for your body to lift off the ground unless you pull up on the grab handle and pull upward to prevent liftoff. I can put my full weight on the stand arm and there is no movement of the bike upward onto the stand at all, even when pulling up and back. I have to stand on it with all my weight and then still pull up on the passenger grab handle to put it on the stand. I'll try again tomorrow following exactly your advice to see if I can get it working :)
If riding weather ever gets here (snow the next few days), I’ll definitely try your method. After nigh 40 years of a series of GS, I can say that this Tiger has been by far the toughest to get onto the stand. Consequently, I rarely use it (the stand, that is). I’ve been muscling it up there, and it’s been only that I’m a relative giant that’s seen me have success. I appreciate your advice, and Alan- I’ll stay tuned here to see if you’ve had luck with it. Thanks, both! 👍🫡
@@ADV-Rider-Dude Search on YT for "Proper center stand use with BIG ADV BIKES - Tiger 1200". He shows the correct technique. I struggled at first until I watched it. It's all about confidence and nut trying to pull it up.
Thanks for posting this. I’m going to give mine a go in a few days.
I was told the movement of top box mount was for cross winds. It allows a little give and stops the top box becoming a sail.
