    Great review 100% with you on how high it is. I bought another type of mount that replaces the bar that pulls the screen up and down. Super sturdy and doesn't wobble as much and definitely not instructive into the viewing field. I was worried I made a mistake but I'm glad now after this review.
    Thanks

    I have the evotech mount on my GT Explorer but have changed the screen to a taller one so I can keep the satnav in its lower position. Found that gave me the best sat nav position while keeping the wind protection.

    Agree 100% with your review. Only used once. Too high, too wobbly on my 2022 Tiger 1200. Gone to handlebar mount much better.

      It does work. I had my Zumo mounted on the Evotech for a 4 hour ride last weekend which also included a few km offroad. Although it vibrates it still held on pretty solidly so I'll continue using g it till I find something better. I'm not a fan of the handlebar mounted option though.

    I agree, I've got the handle bar & screen mount both are excellent but I think it would've been nicer if the screen mount was a little lower & recessed more towards the screen. But it works & excellent quality, a bit more playing around to get prefect for me.

    Good day, Alan! Thanks for posting this video. My dealer has ordered several Evotech mounts (one of which has my name on it), because it seems to be the best mount currently available. Like you, I am undecided between going with the Zumo or simply mounting my iPhone on a Quadlock up there for nav purposes. As I am tall and tend to ride my Rally Explorer with the screen in its uppermost position, the pronounced vibration of the mounted Zumo has me concerned. I agree that Evotech could have made the mount shorter to help with this. Thank you again, and I will report any further findings as I continue breaking in this wonderful bike. Cheers!

      @@RichDunn Hello,
      i understand phone apps.
      My question is, why is no one using the original Triumph gps that shows up on the dahsboard for navigation, but everyone is using a SEPARATE phone and some other navigation app?
      Actually this question is rhetorical, I even know why no one wants to use the original because it's just shit.
      At this point, I have a question for Triumph's development department: why invent and produce things that are rather from the last century and that no one uses?

      @@trzmielina GTK - thanks for sharing Marchello! And it won't connect at all with the latest iOS version (according to Triumph themselves). Another problem is if you AirDrop a GPX to the Beeline app, it will default to opening the Triumph app if you have it installed - which shows they had a hand in its development I guess, particularly as it's turn-by-turn and not map-based. Yamaha has it right with the TMax 500 Tech-Max as it just has a proper Garmin GPS built into its TFT.

      Hey Bob. Nope.. I have removed the Evotech. Have a look at my other video a bit later. I called it so.ething like 'better GPS solution'. It's a lot more stable and lower down and closer to the windscreen. I just did a big offroad session today and it was perfect.

      My reason is that I wa t my GPS to be stationary when I ride and futher from mee than a bar mount would allow. I also like symmetry and prefer the installation to look as much 'built in' as possible rather than an obvious add on. Just my preference. I also prefer the cabling to be as secure as possible.

    • @ADV-Rider-Dude
      @ADV-Rider-Dude  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate. I did stall a couple of times in the first week but more about letting the revs get too low when pulling away. However with just getting used to the bike it has not happened recently. It was mid winter when I bought it so that might have also contributed to the stalling. But none of it was when pulling the clutch in from what I remember. I may be wrong. Either way...its not a problem anymore.

    Hi, Alan. How did you wire in the Garmin, as the DIN in the dash is (stupidly IMPO) permanently live, such doesn't run from the ignition, unlike the DIN by the passenger seat and the connector under the seat. I want to avoid dismantling half the bike just to route cables!

      @@ADV-Rider-Dude Thanks, Alan. I noticed after posting! I too have ordered a Healtech. It seems the logical way to go. IMPO they should have made both front and rear DIN's on when the ignition is live and installed a battery tender lead hookup as standard - just like BMW, or Ducati even.

      I have watched it, but I think to what you are referring is in fact a still of the GS, there is a solution to mount the XT straight into the original GS craddle and that indeed looks very neat. No solution for your Triumph i think.

    • @ADV-Rider-Dude
      @ADV-Rider-Dude  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@patjekas4981 Can you see that the GPS mount on the Tiger in the video is low down and in a fixed height position. He has had to remove the plastic windshield handle because of this. There was an Evotech mount for the Tiger 990 like this. It bolts on behind the display.
      If you take the windshield of the 1200 off and then pull a plastic cover off the back of the screen you will see two sets of bolts that could have been a lot more stable for mounting a shorter GPS mount to. I wander why they decoded not to use them for this purpose. It looks like it would have been a far more stable option.
