Nuts to your statistics. A .198 hitter is a .198 hitter. Can you imagine his stats if he whiffed a hundred times less each year. To wit, Ralph Kiner struck out over 100 times only once, and that was as a Rookie. Over his career he averaged 75 k’s and 110 bb a year. Joe DiMaggio struck out 369 times in 13 years. The Babe whiffed less than 1400 times in 22 years. Never more than 93 times in a year. Oh, by the way, that year, 1923, he batted .393. The point here is, the game is getting predictable. You can realistically expect a slugger to do one of three things. Walk, whiff, or hit a Homer. Mc Gravian ( John McGraw) baseball was much more exciting. Before you tell me that it was slap hitting remember , he had his share of sluggers, as well as singles hitters. His Giants did pretty fair. In closing, why don’t you do an equally insipid yt on modern Pitchers, who despite being coddled like Kobe Beef, are considered “innings eaters” if the start 30 games,toss 140 innings, and throw 100 mph change ups, break down at a greater rate than at any time in history! I’ve been a met fan since the 90’s. I’ve seen them kick ass with Piazza&Alfonzo, Wright&Beltran and Murphy&Degrom… yet this team is the only team outside of 86 that had the most comeback magic I’ve ever seen from the scrappiest never-say-die dudes in baseball. Why not just indicate what percentage of the league the player is better than in each category. Getting specific for the average fan isnt necessary. I know fans that reject sabermetrics. Its too invilved.

The Angels went downhill when Mike Scotia gave up on the team. They Won their World Series against the SF Giants in the early 2000’s . As an Angel’s fan . They need to develop their own talent and not waste their farm system. They got all these other guys from other teams and they end up getting hurt. Mike Trout is in a contract long term if a losing team that probably won’t see a winning season in 2025. And I will never root for the Dodgers ( I’ll always be an Angels fan ) by the way the Angels play they need serious help! Even our own local news hardly cover Angels baseball or they’re not even thought of . Only Dodgers Baseball when it comes to baseball
