Vinyl From The Vault - Girlschool - Hit and Run
As a follow-up from our New Wave of British Heavy Metal show I dug into the vinyl vault for an album from one of my favorite bands of that era, Girlschool!
The version of the album I have is actually the Canadian version which differs from the original UK version as I talk about in the video.
A great album from a great band!

Shōgun - Episode Ten Review - "A Dream of a Dream"
มุมมอง 8714 วันที่ผ่านมา
PLEASE NOTE - THIS VIDEO CONTAINS SPOILERS My impressions of Episode Ten of the new FX adaptation of James Clavell's classic historical drama Shōgun. A fitting climax to an excellent show. In the wake of a tragedy, Blackthorne finally considers the true nature of Toranaga’s plan. FX’s Shōgun, based on James Clavell’s bestselling novel, is set in Japan in the year 1600, at the dawn of a century-...

i had a great time with this movie
It's a lot of fun isn't it!
When you get older Hair on your chin Tits down to your gut When my willy doesn't wanna work so well A double dose of Viagra before it starts to swell When taking a nap is better than sex Will you stay around If you will leave me It will not grieve me When you're in the ground Ev'rytime I come home late you nag me till I pull out My hearing aids I can't hear you shout I vowed until death do us part Please God kill me now I'll find a sugarbaby and then Treat her like a queen Put her up in nice little flat Sunday mornings go for a chat I'll fluff her pillows She'll milk the cow When I come around She'll spend all my money But that's alright honey When you're in the ground
Wednesday morning at five o'clock Brian Epstein called They need a judge for Ready Steady Go Can you be there for the show? He looked over and Jane was drooling with morning breath Lit up a ciggie and had a poo Dashed off a quick one inside the loo Made the drive to arrive to dozens of screaming teen-age girls Picked girl number four, a Melanie Coe Now it is time to "mach show" He....he knew that it was wrong (sweet Melanie) But the urge to merge was too strong (she's a felony) For in UK they can put you away (Something inside can't deny a taste for debauchery) Nine months later a boy arrived unexpectantly Tried to call Paul on directory Would he lie about having a vasectomy? He plied her with cider And soon was inside her Then called her a cab She...she jumped the broom for Sir Paul (a clean sweep) He...he waxed her ass on his wall (made her weep) She...she left home to get away from it all Bye bye
For the love of God please give timestamps of interesting stories of the Beatles. Is he saving the non-boring bits for his book? How 'bout the time when Yoko left a floater in the loo and clogged up the works, thus making Ringo late for his drum cue on Hey Jude. Or the time when John took an upper when he meant to take a downer and pissed on a live 220V amp power supply. Quite shocking. If it's not true, it should be. Or the time when Paul ate a bowl of fruit and shat a fruit salad. 🍏🍎🥭🍍🍌🍋🍊🍉🍈🍇🍒🍓🫐🍑🍐🥝Or the time Paul was collecting smashed pennies (coppers) down by the train tracks so he could use them for guitar plectrums (picks) when his willie got stuck between a pair of train track junctions and narrowly missed getting run over by the 909. Luckily he had his handy pen knife and cut off his bell end, thus becoming the first (and only) circumcised Beatle. Mean Mr. McCartney looks for pennies and puts them in a sack by the railroad track Searches for them most of the day Has them in a jar for display Nothing else to do all day Such a mean old man Such a mean old man He wrote a book, will you take a look, keeps it on a nook in his library He wrote it about his old pal John He reads it with his knickers on Plays his rock 'n' roll until dawn Such a groovy old man Groovy old man
Was he beaten as a red-haired step child?
Let's do that BOLLYWOOD stream soon. I think in Hindi/English. Got a copy of Jawan! Finally got wife to consider moving to Bandra, or West Adheri. Hope you're well, brother. Thumbs UP!
Cheers mate. Jawan rocks hard! Hope all is well.
I really must go shopping with you!!
One day my friend, one day.
You had me at VINYL !!!
Oh yeah!
This message is approved by Muddy Waters
Indeed!
Good editing! That's really cool!
Thanks!
Saw Cozy play with Whitesnake at Glasgow Apollo . Wow those drums shook the place and I could still feel in feet and ears days later. Huge miss. Taken way to soon. RIP
I was lucky to see him four times. Awesome drummer. Sadly missed.
My admiration for Sad Cafe started with Fanx Ta-ra which I originally owned on cassette tape (I still have it, but, of course, I no longer have a cassette tape player). I felt then and still do that the album was a masterpiece (I now have the digital version), and over the decades I have often wondered why the band never reached the commercial heights of other similarly brilliant acts. Nowadays, they seem to be mostly playing in small venues and pubs, while the most we get to see and hear of them are the occasional low-quality clips posted by fans here on TH-cam. A great performance at Glastonbury might do wonders for their broader appeal but any new material seems to be an unlikely prospect. Nonetheless, they remain one of the best bands ever to come out of the UK and in particular Fanx Ta-ra is a "must-have" item in any music lover's collection.
They were indeed brilliant and should have been way bigger. I saw them multiple times including 5 times on one tour!
ITS SO FUN my fav actor Ma dong seok my another fav actor Kim mu yoel
They both rock! There is nothing finer than watching Ma Dong-seok punch bad guys!
Check out my review here th-cam.com/video/VauhleKOPSU/w-d-xo.html
Looks good. The adding it to my list.
You will not be disappointed mate. There are few things finer in life than watching Don Lee punch bad guys.
Many thanks to everyone on the panel and in the chat today, it was a fun show! Please note that as always I have had to trim some clips to prevent the video being blocked so there will be the odd skip here and there. The unedited version of course as always will be on Rumble: rumble.com/v4tfpbo-its-only-talk-and-roll-metal-britannia-the-new-wave-of-british-heavy-metal.html
Congrats on your Stars winning their series and knocking out Vegas Brian.
Thanks! My defibrilator was working overtime I can tell you.
I remember seeing this in the break of something I recorded on VHS. I watched it over and over again and remember being surprised that the music featured was actually two different songs once I got the album. Still the best band to have walked the planet.
Yep I lifted it from an old VHS tape, but the tape is long gone so I can't recall what show it was during. I had hundreds of VHS recordings of gigs etc. Converted many to digital and then got rid of them about 20 years ago. Big mistake as now I feel I am missing a lot of what was converted.
The Farm = Soylent Green 😀
I'm suddenly hungry....
@@ThatSeventiesRockFan And the end is the best...and really the only choice...dog gonna keep him alive girl gonna get him killed
Nice job!!
Thanks!
I saw the movie when it first came out because I was a fan of the short story. In my opinion, the short story is better, but the movie is pretty good - it adds a bit of humor that is a little more obvious than Ellison's own writing.
Thanks for your comment and for watching. I had read the story quite some time before seeing the movie and both do have their merits. I do like the humor in the movie, especially the repartee between Vic and Blood.
Surprisingly good show. Not surprisingly good review. Poor Yabu. A real snake I can't help liking. Pretty sure I have the original series on my NAS. I remember wearing out my VHS box set. Costumes weren't as good in the original, but it had a very good cast of actors. Get well soon.
Hello mate. The show was really good. I really like the actor Tadanobu Asano who played Yabu who has been in a number of western movies such as 47 Ronin, ironically alongside Hiroyuki Sanada. I am watching a few other movies he's been in and he's great.
I'm loving this series so far.
It was very good indeed in my opinion. Thanks for watching these reviews.
I enjoyed the series overall, but the lack of action caused me to "like" it when I wanted to "love" it.
Looking back at the novel again it seems like there was actually less action than one would think. The show did focus on the drama and strategy as well. Toranaga wanted to avoid war and action as much as possible. I think the escape from Osaka in Episode three had the most action looking back.
Awesome swag 🙌🏾
Nae bad at all.
The last episode felt a little flat to me, but I really enjoyed the series overall. There are a few videos on TH-cam comparing the book to the show. I posted one on Twitter if you want to see it. Sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you get better soon. Remember, never sleep with the cheap hookers in Vegas.
Noting is cheap in Vegas these days, even the cheap hookers lol
Feck! Arse! Drink! 🥃✝️🙏
oh, and... GOBSHITE! 🤣
Girls!
lol
keep on rockin' and get better soon! ❤🙏
This one's been a doozy that's for sure. Still there after nearly two weeks.
Please forgive my scratchy voice, I am suffering from a chest infection.
Rest In Peace Dickey, thanks for all the music 🙏
RIP DICKEY BETTS
The costumes continue to slay me. I thought Blackthorne might have had a bit more sympathy for his former shipmates. Side note: They were attacked by shinobi, not ronin. Ronin didn't rely on stealth nearly so much. The battle at the gate demonstrated Mariko's courage brilliantly. Yabu's a survivor, first and foremost. Need someone thrown under the bus? He's your man with grease in hand.
Yabu may be a treacherous piece of crap but somehow, I suppose because of the actor's portrayal, I can't help but like him.
@@ThatSeventiesRockFan I think you're on the right track as far as the actor goes. "Don't hate me. I'm just trying to see one more sunrise. Some people are blocking the view and I am simply getting them out of the way."
I have to give episode 9 credit. A Samurai actually used their Samurai sword. I hope episode 10 is an hour of nothing but fighting. Even though I feel that we've had very little action 9 episodes in, I still like the show
It's been a little light on action, but looking back through the novel I noticed that there wasn't as much action as I recalled.
I've just been binging this serie !! Best show on TV !!
It is very good indeed mate isn't it.
Episode nine was brilliant, probably my favorite since episode three.
The Winter Classic Jersey!!!
It's a Hintz one too!
Heinlien and Asimov were among Smith's admirers
I can imagine they were indeed.
The term space opera was coined by SF fan and author Wilson Tucker.
Thanks for that info. And many thanks for watching.
Go to the interview with Dick Clark where he interviews Eric. Eric mentions Cleveland and I think someone in the audience says something. But Eric reminds them there are great musicians coming out of Cleveland. Stigma, thinking it had to be NY or LA.
Cleveland had some great stuff going on. I'm going to seek out that interview.
Time After Time one of my all time favorites. Loved him in SOS Titanic much better role than in the James Cameron movie. I also enjoyed Perfect Friday and the Age of Innocence.
He was a wonderful actor that's for sure. I agree on SOS Titanic completely. Many thanks for watching.
Lots of pomp and circumstances!!
I think my eardrums were blown out.
Blow knights blow?! I mean it makes sense, but weird. Very weird 😂
Big lol at that mate
Fans have often been critical of Mick Jones. Myself included. But most don't know that Mick was in dire straights in New York City. His band had just broken up, and he had been left stranded in NYC. The bands manager Bud Prager who also managed the band Sniffin The Tears, aka Drivers Seat was lending Mick money out of his own pocket to form a band. Mick who had actually lost his apartment after his room mate kinda forgot? to pay the rent was frantic. Dude was in his early 30s watching it all slip away and was desperate to the point where his savings was nearly zero. This aura of desperation can and does, have a long lasting effect on ones mental well being
Yep all good points. Regardless of anything, Mick has had a remarkable career, a fascinating life and created something enduring in Foreigner. More than most people can claim. And he got to party with Brigitte Bardot....
