My impressions of Episode Ten of the new FX adaptation of James Clavell's classic historical drama Shōgun. A fitting climax to an excellent show.
In the wake of a tragedy, Blackthorne finally considers the true nature of Toranaga’s plan.
FX’s Shōgun, based on James Clavell’s bestselling novel, is set in Japan in the year 1600, at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. “Lord Yoshii Toranaga” (Hiroyuki Sanada) is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him, when a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village.

Please forgive my scratchy voice, I am suffering from a chest infection.
keep on rockin' and get better soon! ❤🙏
This one's been a doozy that's for sure. Still there after nearly two weeks.
I'm loving this series so far.
It was very good indeed in my opinion. Thanks for watching these reviews.
The last episode felt a little flat to me, but I really enjoyed the series overall. There are a few videos on TH-cam comparing the book to the show. I posted one on Twitter if you want to see it.
Sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you get better soon. Remember, never sleep with the cheap hookers in Vegas.
Noting is cheap in Vegas these days, even the cheap hookers lol
Surprisingly good show. Not surprisingly good review. Poor Yabu. A real snake I can't help liking. Pretty sure I have the original series on my NAS. I remember wearing out my VHS box set. Costumes weren't as good in the original, but it had a very good cast of actors. Get well soon.
Hello mate. The show was really good. I really like the actor Tadanobu Asano who played Yabu who has been in a number of western movies such as 47 Ronin, ironically alongside Hiroyuki Sanada. I am watching a few other movies he's been in and he's great.
I enjoyed the series overall, but the lack of action caused me to "like" it when I wanted to "love" it.
Looking back at the novel again it seems like there was actually less action than one would think. The show did focus on the drama and strategy as well. Toranaga wanted to avoid war and action as much as possible. I think the escape from Osaka in Episode three had the most action looking back.
