Hi Paul, I have a question. I purchased online a few large rough Ethiopian opals. The vendor said they were storing these in light oil, and I suppose these will arrive in oil. I do not really want to store these in oil or water. I'm not sure what will happen if I rinse the rough opals off with water to clear off the oils, and then dry the opals? I have seen some people say not to put these type of opals in water and then dry them because they will crack. Do you have any suggestions as far as rinsing the oil off and drying these for storage? Or is there a chance they will break apart if I rinse them and then dry them? I'm not sure how exactly to store these. Thank you.
