Lego is being paid by the apps or Bricksearch for the codes millions worldwide . And you get what you want and save cash . Way way more to this than meets the eye or ear

I think after getting reacquainted with lego after I scooped up that recent Humble Bundle sale on lego games a few weeks ago, and going "y'know this isn't hitting like physical blocks" then promptly buying a $30 set, researching current discourse, and finding some of my old lego collection within my parents stuff. It really seems like ironically 2020 when they explicitly started marketing to adults was when it got stale. I don't need some sweaty $500 set to fuel a storyline, and obvi that's where the money is and it seems like the effort it put these days (the 'ol ronald mcdonald playbook) but Idk I'm sure kids today will have the same fondness for dreamzzz that we did Power Miners, or Atlantis (I agree those were peak lego for my childhood, although some of the early 2000s Lego rebound sets like dino attack were cool to me as well) hope we get reboots (for my own nostalgia) but just some good/non-convoluted original sets in general. I am thinking of the time I missed out on legos roughtly 2010-11ish? to 2024 monster fighters, ultra agents, and hidden side seem to peak my interest so we'll see.

The QR codes scanners have been online since right after the marvel minifigs. I prefered the old foil packs but boxes are environmentally friendlier

Ik it’s not nearly as fun but honestly it’s better to just but the figures second hand you’ll likely spend less in the end 1: because how much less most the figures are worth once they’ve been opened kinda makes up for the overpriced ones and 2: you’re not buying duplicates not to mention a lot of the stores mark them up a dollar or two again I think it sucks a lot of the fun out of it but idk that’s my solution I can’t even remember the last time I bought from retail bc price skew and prices in general just being kind of ridiculous for the past few years

I dunno. Seems like Lego is getting a resurgence with the new friends theme. I never like legos until this new friends came out and now I’m like 👀. It started last year with the community center and the botanical gardens. Now it’s the castle inn and Andreas modern mansion. 😊

I want this more than any sort of "canon" set tbh. I like when lego does straight up wild things. Imagine a set based on Lego City, from the complete saga game. Just a fairly standard old school lego house and some props with star wars characters fighting over it, and an entire bag of silver, gold, and blue studs

The fact that you feel like you should know what's inside a randomize product is kind of crazy. Saying part of the fun is to feel the bags to figure out what's inside and all they've done is taken away that ability. Well yeah you're buying a gambling product.

Truly did peak 2009 I remember every set on the Lego website, they had so many cool layouts for the sets they would move around and had sound effects.

For me, it's hard to talk about Space Police 3 without noting that there are no aliens on the police force... this single fact leads to a different reading of the theme. In the past, the Space Police only concerned themselves with the goings on of other Lego space men. Now they're patrolling in an area with a majority alien population, and the wave didn't include a single traditional Lego man perpetrator. It starts to make one wonder if the Space Police are actually the good guys like the ads claim

I was so lucky to be born in 2003. I still have my Lego power miner sets, bionics, agents and Atlantis it’s still my favourite themes today. It sucks that they discontinued them and just settled for already existing IPs. For a company focused on creativity, they really don’t want to make new themes…
