My hero was named Rick Stonebreaker, a red hero with blue accents that had an arm shield mounted with Furno's flame blade things and the other arm held one of Surge's guns. I still have him to this day (with only a couple minor accessory adjustments). I remember being very slightly disappointed as I read the ad for the product wrong and thought each hero just CAME with the dual molded chest plate, but that was on me and I still got the figure I wanted (though in retrospect I probably could have just built him out of my own parts). I still have the Hero Recon Team sticker on my older laptop and have been looking for the best way to rescue it and put it on my new one. I have always loved the idea of a custom action figure or even action figures that come with a custom character sheet (Gi Joe's Steel Brigade comes to mind). I wish more toy companies did this sort of thing, but I understand it may be cost prohibitive. This is probably one of the things that go me into 3d modeling and printing so I now design my own modular action figures.
1:16 no you don’t understand shipping prices were insane We’re used to shipping being cheap or free and fast nowadays but that’s because online shopping became so big that the infrastructure got better
The CCB system actively encourages you to take appart the figures and make your own The 2.0 heroes had a design that perfectly fit that concept, considering how they didn't have a specific helmet that defined each character but instead they had tactical gear that could very easily be swapped for a custom hero Recon Team was a brilliant concept that unfortunately did not get the recognition it deserved until recently with TH-camrs talking about it
The best home for this Hero Factory Recon Team member. Excellent work recreating Merrick Fortis and documenting the history of this part order-like program. The aftermarket sale of 3 chestpieces astounds me as well.
alexander missile king 😭 this is like when i found out asap rocky’s real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II
This was the main appeal of Hero Factory in my book, a make your own Hero theme

Waltuh, put your chestplate away Waltuh. I’m not creating heroes with you right now Waltuh
Completely forgot about this, I would spend so much time playing around in the character creator
Merrick Fortis mentioned 🗣️
very interesting
I’ve still got my two tone. It’s attached to a weapon on a weird Bulk MOV I made.
Hero factory is better than Bioncle there I said it (I only bought one set)
