Interesting about the BK7 breaking...can't say that's the first time I've heard of those knives breaking suddenly. TOPS on the other hand, with the differential heat treat, are very tough. The spine is very very soft, and absorbs shock, so striking, chopping, batoning, doesn't break the blade. Pretty cool.

There’s a reason why the BK-7 is $90 and the Tops Silent Hero is $160. Tops 1095 is far superior and differentially heat treated.

I don't care if it's made of clay. If you can forge it looks cool and it will cut. Mission accomplished. . if someone made this. And gave it to me ..... I would be soooo thankful. Love your video....🔨🔥

A friend showed me this a few days ago. When he did it, it sounded like a loud police whistle--I mean LOUD. I heard it from a long ways away. I haven't been able to do it that loud myself and haven't found anyone on YT who even comes close to equaling it. So far, I can get barely more than a squeak out of it.

Bought one, broke the tip off in a log, removed the finish and was completely let down. Make a knife from steel out the yard. Stop buying and posting it's killing more than pockets. Run that blade up against a cheap Mora. 15 bucks folks.

Nice tops but you're bk7 must have had a bad heat treat. My bk7 has been through Hell ish knots and has never chiped or broken.

I just bought my first morav knife, the robust

I have a bravo 1st production green handles A2 steel I’d trade for the bushcrafter in A2 that looks like this blade in 3v your using or something else I have a bunch of folders and like 10 fixed blades I’d trade for it.

I’d trade u the Tops BOB knife for this if your interested and don’t already have it. And throw in the Crkt shrill dagger possibly something else 😁. I also have the BHK WOODSMAN basically the smaller version of the BHK woodsman pro u have with a smoother micarta handles and fish eye bolts instead of screws also it’s O1 tool steel not A2 sharp sine and blade sheath like new.

To bad your not doing more vids and u didn’t catch on great channel actual knife reviews instead of just looking at them very cool great blade and video.

Own it love it this snuck by most knife enthusiasts but a great spine steel grip molle sheath fairly priced American made sexy 😍.

I have the 1st production run of this exact same steel and design as yours mine came sharp my only problem is the polished handle it can get real slippery with some grease blood etc on your hands.It did give me a good reason to beat on without any regret or worry definitely not as pretty as when I bought it 😁.

The "X" is Lt's designation for Cpm3V. I have a Genesis in 3V with a scandi grind which is my favorite. Mine has natural Micarta scales. Excellent knife.

Tops does not round their spines. They do a differential heat treat that leaves the spine intentionally much softer than the edge.

Mine is on the way. I've been wanting it for year's. 🗡

Thanks for sharing you opinion, helps me to form my own! I've recently bought that exact same knife and love it. What I don't like is the sheath. It is so much larger than it needs to be, compared e.g. to a Fällkniven F1's zytel sheath.. But then, the knife & sheath live in my backpack anyway and only come out when needed.

Did you buy it new? I've never had a new Bark River come where it wouldn't cut paper. That's the first thing I test when I get one and it always slices through like butter.

Scandi grind sucks, their are fragile as shit without a micro bevel, even scandi grind knife makers put micro bevel on all of their knives which completely defeats the purpose of have a scandi grind in the first place. I'm looking at you Morakniv.

U must have had a bad bk7 because I've put mine through he.. and had no problems at all. Maybe bad heat treat.....
