I've got a ThruNite Ti3 running on a single, readily available, AAA battery (from IKEA - because they are cheap and long lasting) that I am super satisfied with, for the following reasons:
The clip is reversible so I can clip it on my cap and use it as a headlamp.
It is waterproof - It have actually taken the tour through both washing machine and the dryer and it is still working like new.
The order of which it switches through the modes; it starts of in moonlight/firefly mode, which is sufficient to read something right in front of you, but still not break you night vision. (I also have a JetBeam Jet-µ AAA, but that kick in at super bright and then go to low, and for that I end up spending a lot of time getting back to seeing in low light) Take that into consideration when you choose you light; how, where and when do you need it?
    It is small and lightweight.
It's fairly cheap and really well build.

I just bought a Nitecore Tube for my keychain, haven't received it yet but it looks like a super practical keychain light on a budget. I'm currently running a AAA titanium Four Sevens Atom, I got it because my old cheapy photon ripoff used to turn on in my pocket and wasn't waterproof, so I thought I'd get a nice twist top, but the twist top is a pain having to turn on with two hands and there is not enough spill light to see my keys beside it. The Nitecore Tube has a clear body, so should have enough spill, hopefully it doesn't turn on in my pocket with it's press button, but if it does it is USB rechargeable so it is not a big deal.

Everyday Survival One that I would kind of recommend is the EAGTAC dx30lc2-r, mainly because for an 18650 battery powered 1000 lumen plus light with a somewhat throwy beam it has an awesome slim tube body. More companies should do the same. It is quite comfortable for pocket carry and is usb rechargeable. It does have some weak points though, I would recommend putting a section of road racing bicycle inner tube over the selector button/charge port for extra protection, it can still be operated in this way. Also, my pocket clip fell off after a short time and is positioned too far down the tube so doesn't carry deep enough in pocket. USB port is an unusual type that is very hard to find replacement cables for. Plus a couple other niggly things. A flashlight I'm really interested in is the Zero Hour Relic XR, which while 18650 is probably too big for pocket edc but it also functions as a charger for other devises/phones. I'd like to pair it up with their not yet released Ignite AAA someday.

fire ant flashlights are good. it's a good brand. to get one go on Amazon and in the search bar type " fire ant flashlights " . there's a few options to pick from. I have used them and they are outstanding. for the quality and price. I highly recommend it.

      Everyday Survival OK suggestions
Either a belt pouch first aid kit, just a basic one or adding a basic FAK to your wallets. Somethings to deal with cuts, scrapes, burns, splinters, the green apple quick step, allergies, headaches. You might be young; but you're not bulletproof and inflammable.
