Learn from your fails is great.. create folders.. check out top 100 for 80's, 90's, 2000s etc. Check your local top 40 radio stations play lists.. make that folder.. etc. I use color codes a lot in serato.. red is hot hi energy , green is playable, yellpw is mellow.. use a monitor facing you so you can play that a little louder to get clean mixes.. or set the speak up roght next to your ear or behind you. Etc.
Bro i thought you was Dak Prescott for second. Oh snap!!!!
Bruh 😂
Aye bro, you be dropping a lotta game on your channel. U mentioned Tidabie and DJ Studio. Which license to yiu recommend to purchase for those programs.
Thanks man. And it all depends on you my man. What’s comfortable for your wallet?
Came across ur channel.. am staring as well .. great tips for us new guys ..🙏🏽
Thanks for checking it out! Glad it's helpful.
I learn something new every time you drop a new one. 💯💪🏾
Thanks man! I’m glad get something from these vids!
I wouldn't recommend illegally downloading music from a streaming source. Yes, we all do it. I just think airing it on youtube is a bad idea.
You shoukd try crate hackers instead of djay pro
When ready and you can spend $100, buy the original Shure SM58 with switch. As a dj, you want to be able to cut off the mic with a switch. This will save you lots of headache and stress while djing. The switch avoids you having to constantly lower the volume on your dj controller. Not many mics come with switch. The SM58 has a switch version.
good call! that will be easier!
Love your content bro, keep grinding…
Appreciate the love fam!
GEE KNEE US. THANKS.
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Congrats!!!! As a DJ will always feel like you don't have enough music. Hahaha Especially now days when new songs drop left and right...while old songs resurface (thanks tik tok) hahaha
Facts!! And tiktok keeps bringing back all the old classics! and thank you fam
Great video cani ask waht are you using to film this is it a insta 360 the camera placement very good
No everything was shot with the DJI action 4
For your back health, you're going to want a higher table to practice on. Counter height, about 36 inches high. Your back will thank you.
good call! thank fam
Dont go cheap on your first mic. A great first mic for a dj is the Shure SM58. Many famous singers have sang on that and quality is good enough for the dj booth.
Good call on the mic! The SM58 is a great mic for sure.
Yō what's going on family. Just saw your channel. I watch your Christmas party, and I enjoy what you said about being more open minded when it comes to different styles of music. That is a great way to start and just keep going and do what you love and keep grinding. Yes, indeed between the rev 5 is light and is very easy I used it when one my DJ buddy had it been a very great hardware. Now I used DJ control inpulse 500 by Hercules and I love it. I use Virtual DJ since 2008 when it was just the free version before I brought the full pro version. Keep up the great work stay blessed. Peace.
Appreciate the feedback, glad you enjoyed the video! Let’s get it! and I been looking at the t7 by Hercules..I hear good things about it!
It took a long time for the DJ community to unite. It use to be super cut throat, I think covid time bought us all together. Welcome to the DJ fam.
I'm glad im here now and glad to be a part of this family!
Djay on the iPad is so much more fun and easier than the Mac/Laptop.
ill have to check it out
I have used the Rev 1 over last two years and over 80 gigs. Definitely has helped me hone my skills. This is a great controller for beginners for sure. I’d highly recommend. I’ll be moving up to another pioneer controller 2025.
I hear ya! It’s a great little controller! what u plan on getting?!
Inspired. Keep posting! It’s a huge help for the newbies!
Thanks Fam! I appreciate you checking it out!
Not every gig is easy funny to say is like Forrest Gump said is like a box of chocolates You never what you going to get Most of the time people don't dance or want to do anything they are just chequing Tik Tok or texting but not paying attention to the music
yeh its crazy ppl dont dance no more!
get to the point, you talk too much without getting to the point. this video would've been done at the 15min mark
@@eecycee6073 make yo own channel and do better then! Thanks for the free hate 😂
Man your doing a great job I've only been djing for a 1 year and i had no help . The dj for my Grandmother 82th bday party cancelled and i step up and rock the party. Learning everyday.
Oh and watch the full video 🎉🎉🎉 happy new Year
nice!! and thank you fam!
Over time I’ve learned to be prepared for ANY situation. Know your music and the crowd will reciprocate the energy. Nice video!
100% agreed! It's all apart of learning! thanks for watching!
What video is that other software you mentioned for the download?
th-cam.com/video/oEvqedEXDI4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SeTb7HBUNm55enV4 7minutes in fam. Hope that helps
@@thekxngofmix Mosdef Thanks broski
I’m just beginning but I’m messing with a dj2go2 and djay app but I already see the benefits of using a controller that has more hardware buttons, pads and knobs to tweak vs tapping or clicking on the screen. I’m not at the level to need to upgrade but I do want the physical feel of spinning records to mess with which is how the rane one popped up in my search.
I think once you get the controller you will be glad you got one!
Awesome job / Content Broski 💯
Thanks fam
Hey bro! I believe DJing should be fun. I've been DJing since 1987 on 2 turntables and a mixer. I had to learn to blend music using my ear. But, that doesn't make you "less than" if you or anyone else doesn't do it like I did back in the day. That being said, just have fun. I use DJPro because I no longer use my turntables and I still like mixing on my phone when I take flights, or on my way to work. I do like the ease of creating playlists and let the software create the mix for me while traveling and working out. However, I do have the FLX4 DJ controller, but I don't use it because other things in my life take a priority. But, one day I will use it more often and get back to DJing as my hobby for fun. I believe AI helps with time savings and helps people learn how to mix, or practice how to mix. So, I'm glad you said that you don't rely solely on it. Use it as a tool, not a crutch! :) Enjoy!
89 for me my bro, 50 now, I love watching these young thundercats do their thing, I love the new ideas the new generation come up with, they fire me up to get better ❤
Respect for keeping it real! and youre right it does make it easy for you to be on the move and still mix!!
I did like the breakdown of everything you do. Now I don't know nothing about dj studio. Well my first question is do it allow to get clean or unedited version? I asked because as you build up, you will need clean songs. I would say get familiar with every songs, vibe, and genre. I personally just use bpm supreme or simply download off TH-cam. I also have my music set up as folders. Old school music, old school hip-hop, Crunk hits, new school(2010- up), new school groove(2010- up), latin, country, pop/rock, Reggae/afrobeats, gospel/praise break, Christmas, slow jamz, wedding/ love songs, line dances/kid dances, booty songs, new Orleans bounce, jazz, and blues/zydeco. I tried to be the every situation dj and take every gig that was offer to me, but now I mostly except the gig I want now. And Recommend other djs i know to gigs I prefer not to work. Have you started beat matching and smooth transitioning yet?
So the songs are coming from tidal or where you have your songs. DJ.Studio only helps you sequence the setlist. It doesn’t give you any music.
Never worry about what people (DJ's) say about how you do your thing. There are so many different ways and skills when it comes to mixing. There are so many cheats that DJs no longer see as cheats. Take beat gridding in software. How would DJs do simple loops without it. The hated sync is needed for those complicated 4 deck mixing transitions. AI is just an evolution. I'm old school in a new club so to speak. Nearly 50yrs in the games and I still practice and still learning. There is no wrong way only your way, on your journey you'll find you way. If the crowd stays dancing you know you're on the right track... forgive the pun. Keep up the content.
thanks the that! appreciate you for that insight!
I had the same experience
Thought it was just me…they tryna get the bag. I can’t blame them.
Nice video! I also use DJ Studio to help build my playlists. While my transition skills have improved, I primarily rely on the software to assist with organizing my library. I can definitely relate to you when you mentioned sweating it out, wondering what to hit them with next!. Keep up the good work.
I hear ya! It’s a real game changer, isn’t it?! but yes ill keep posting thank you!
💯💯💯💯💯
AYYYYYEEEJAYYYYYY!!!!! Mr. Pilot himself!!
My guyyyy !! The way I see it,if you don’t do it, someone else will . And it’s like you said , AI isn’t meant to replace but to make it easier, I heard of this method before but always felt bad cause I felt like it was “ cheating “ spend bare time on finding tracks then organizing the set, then setting cue points. This just further validates why I should be doing this. Saves time and lets you focus on the hardest part ( as a new DJ ) of DJ-ing transitioning . Appreciate you, keep up the good content !
Fax!!! Glad you enjoyed the video! Keep grinding fam! Let’s get it!!
I believe ALL deejays need to evolve with Technology. I’ve been a “real DJ” since 1984 but I am all about making my job easier. I am sure the other “real” Djs have no problem with using digital music and controllers instead of lugging heavy ass milk crates full of records and Tech 1200s. I respect all those OGs and the new generation of DJs taking it to the next level. But at the end of the day it takes one human DJ to create the mood and generate energy for a human crowd. That’s called HI…Human Intelligence. MUCH RESPECT! SALUTE!
Hell yeah! It’s all about creating an experience for the people, no matter how you do it! 💯 thank you for checking out my work! I appreciate you a bunch man!
Coffee shop serves some good margaritas 😅
Aye don’t sleep on the coffe margarita mix! Get turnt up and bent at the same time!! 😂
That's a pretty good augmentation of AI to get your set together. Good job. I didn't know about the suggestions on the right side of djay pro. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work. How are you liking the DDJ-REV5?
Thanks fam! I’m glad you liked it! and the Rev5 is a blast!! I think I like it more than my rane One!!
@thekxngofmix i use it, too. Have you found any videos that show some of the different features?
on the rev 5 or the between the rev 5 and the rane one?
Knowledge is king thank you.
Indeed! Thank you for tuning in!
I love your style of content, other Dj channels just put out mixes, and or controller/equipment reviews and call it a day. I like the vlogging of going around town, set ups, tear down, recording parts of a set. Keep it up 😊
thank you! Im glad that you find joy in it!! thank you for tuning in!
I’m starting up too. Do you live stream anywhere?
Not yet. But I’ll be posting full mixes on instagram and tik tok.
@ fuh sho I’ll be following
I Used DJ. Studio To Do A Mash Up For A Wedding Awesome. Program.... That DJ Studio Playlist Idea Is Fiya I Gotta Try That Another Thing I Do Is Create A Playlist On Spotify And Turn It Into A Create but The DJ Studio Makes That Extra Step So Much Easier
Yeh man give it a shot! It’s worth it! Thanks for tuning in!
Do your Rev 1 have platter issues scratch mode doesn't work sometimes
No I haven’t had that happen to me. Not sure what that’s about.
Thanks for the info I’m a beginner DJ myself and this helps me a lot but I have a question. Can you make a video of what record pool you used to download music because I also learned a hard lesson about DJing with screaming apps at my first gig
So I’m not using record pools right now…click the video I link to you here and skip to 7minutes…That’s how I go about downloading the music. I take advantage of tidals “90 hits” playlists for example and save those and decide what records I want to keep then use the method i mention in this video to get the tracks. th-cam.com/video/oEvqedEXDI4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=H9okNP0nfhak_DW- After that I then organize and add them to my crates in Serato
@@thekxngofmix Def get into record pools it will make life easier! Trust me!
Nice break down
Thank you 🙏🏽
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 This method you’re using is VERY wise - ESPECIALLY for new DJs. Bring able to hear what songs go well together 5x more quickly than individual trial & error = having a whole repertoire from memory of tracks to play next while spinning live in future gigs (even without the A.I. matching). Keep up the excellent content!
Thank you fam! And yes I tried to do it by trail and error and knew I didn’t have enough time before my first gig
AI can help you gain time, but the best technique to speed up your process is to stop paying attention to "you're not a real DJ if you don't do X" discussions.
Big fax! Thank you for tuning in!
yup
DJ culture largely is great. Most people look out for one another! Great vid bro 🙏🏽
Thank you 🙏🏽 I appreciate you for tuning in!
I think the rev5 is the best non motorized mixer out right now. The platters have ball bearing like the cdjs which gives it the same feeling. you can feel the difference instantly coming from an ddj-sz. also I got tired carrying an ddj sz in a coffin. feels like a body after a long night. The rev5 in a travel bag is the best combo to pack up & leave.
You are %100 right! The Rev5 is a joy to pack and carry!
No matter how long the event is, I never feel like I have enough songs 😅 …
Lmao!! I thought it was just me!
Yup I was saying the same thing I have everything midi mapped in my Rev 7 and its a big difference vs. Rane 1 in clarity using stems
I thought it was me. But I hear a difference for sure!
Thanks for sharing, what bag is that your standing next to
th-cam.com/video/1NqNJvFL0ps/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tiMtGvhKUZDc4C8f That’s the review of the bag I did. And here’s the link to it on Amazon! Hope this helps. a.co/d/7BriZjP
