As others have mentioned you were using the wrong cable. TRRS vs TRS makes a difference. When it comes to short runs such as between your controller to the mixer board, it doesn't really matter and you probably won't hear much of a difference.
Xlr cables are mono. when you are pulling your cable out slightly your are causing the single channel to make contact with the second channel as if it were stereo.
Lmao…thanks for callin the video good quality!! Did you miss the part at the beginning where I said “I need to know?” 😂 thanks for the comment big dawg!
You’re using the wrong cable bro. 🤦🏾♂️🤣 you’re using a TRRS cable. The main difference between XLR and RCA is the interference over distance. That’s why it’s used in clubs and big main stages for big events. Our phones can interfere with rca wires over long distances big time in a highly populated venue.
Ahhh ok. Dang 😂 that makes sense. So if I’m going to run an XLR it’s need to be a standard XLR female to male? And the speakers I use need to take an XLR as well!!
@@thekxngofmix with wires I’d go with hosa brand wires. Make to take care of them because wires can break, so buy a back up. If your gonna be in your home studio I’d buy the iLoud monitors. You can use rca with them. If your gonna be on stage use XLR.
@@bboymac84 that’s funny you said Hosa…just picked up some of those today. Also have some PigHog wires. I’ll be droppin a video on my wire setup soon. Thank you fam!! I appreciate you foreal
Not all XLR are created equal. You need the HOSA pro line. More expensive but you will thank me later. Cheap XLR will be worse than RCA believe it or not. You will also see the volume is lower. Think of this like an electrician not DJ. Thicker cables mean more signal can pass through.
Also RCA gives out unbalanced sound, where as a high quality XLR or XLR to TRS Cable will give you balanced sound output.
@@lmg3000 this is true. Thank you!

Yeh I now see! I’m running with the RCA’s for now but definitely looking forward to upgrading later down the line.

ahhh ok I see!!
Nothing better than a really good quality video with a guy who knows nothing about the topic at hand. Thank you for spreading misinformation, sir!

That’s so true! I actually bought the hosa cables for my setup. Changed everything instantly!
