Hey, my name is Spitfire Kev, I come from the South of the UK. After losing both of my parents in such a short time between them both passing away. I took to strolling & 1 day took a stroll in a cemetery near where I live. I was looking at some of the stunning craftmanship, from times gone by & after watching a couple of channels doing the same thing, but in their own ways. that's when I thought I'll have a go at some of that. To help me with my mental health & physical fitness. Each Graveyard /Cemetery is a wonderful treasure trove of history & local celebrities. The craftmanship if stunning. Along with the feeling of sadness, when you come across a infants resting place. See any graves that you may know the history of, then please feel free to leave a comment. I do love helicopters 👍 I’ve been on a few (never a airplane) but a few helicopters the first one I flew on was one like on the tv show “MASH” the old bell, something, I can’t remember 😂 but it was a real treat 👍👍
@@cemeteryvisits the Huey 🚁. The only helicopter I've been in. Was the Air Ambulance, after my heart attack. I was told, it didn't count for my bucket list. 😂
@@spitfirekev my dad was a gunner on a Huey back in 68 Vietnam but he lost his job because during a hot LZ pickup he seen a lieutenant being left behind and seeing that no one was going back to help him he stopped firing at the enemy left the helicopter and ran under enemy fire and picked the guy up and carried him to the bird, should have got a medal but instead he got a butt chewing from hell and kicked out to the ground units which within a month he was severely wounded in combat. August 19, 1968.

@@spitfirekev I must say that the lieutenant who’s life he saved did thank him profusely the lieutenant knew he’d been killed or worse because the VC didn’t treat prisoners very well, so as a token of appreciation the lieutenant pulled out his side arm a old six shooter cowboy type pistol removed a bullet and handed it to dad, it was a silver bullet (I guess the guy thought he was the long ranger or something) 😂 anyway I said “Silver? What was you all fighting over there, werewolves?” Dad didn’t say anything more. Maybe they were 😂

Hi old friend. A joy to watch and perfect co-ordination. I will be going back to Medway early next week. I heard that the old pumping station along the Brook in Chatham may be closing, I have made inquiries but cannot get any reliable info.I have some old footage in my library, but I need to get a new longer version, and make further inquiries. It's sad really, the old Dockyard is closing, and I have contacted a few friends who still live in Chatham, and they have told that the old place has gone down. I met Matt Valentine, (very reliable) who takes the Medway to heart, he is trying to get elected to the council so that he has more say on what is good and what is bad for the Towns. Old proverb: A river does not cut through rock with strength, it cuts with perseverance. Stay safe. Cheers Kev.

Hi old friend. Never under estimate the power of the seas. I remember this tragedy well, as would most matelots from my era, any seaman that is lost to the seas should always be remembered. At the moment I am chugging back down the East Coast, UK and the weather is still good. Neptune as you know is the god of the seas, and has a history for those interested. I have enjoyed Cowes week over the years, and it is far from the pretentious view that some people think it is. The yachtsmen are ahead and alert to the dangers that can spring up in an instant, as any matelot knows. Old proverb: A smooth sea never makes a skillful sailor. You have made a piece of histoy known that should never be lost. Cheers Kev. Stay safe.
@@Topphat-l1f Hi old friend. It was by pure luck that I found the church. I was about to leave as I was going to go back to film the church at a later date. But I was drawn to turn left & down the little path, that led to the monument. Then I had a flash back from seeing it on TV when I was 14. I never forgot it and to then discover the monument, I knew it had to be put in this episode. Safe chugging down the East Coast. I'm glad you enjoyed this episode. Stay safe Sal & good winds to you. Thanks Kev! Save the seahorse, I say. Vessels aplenty in this one. I was interested to see the Isle of Wight has its own flag. In this part of the world there's a Murray River flag. It's never had any official status but a lot of river people regard it as their symbol. ⚓
