Cemetery Strolls, Episode 60. Mary the Virgin Church, Brook, Isle of Wight.
This beautiful church is situated right out in the countryside on the South West side of the Isle of Wight. The Church is situated on top of a hill, over looking the English Channel & the scenic hills of rolling summer meadows.
The church was rebuilt in the mid 19th century, after the original church burnt down. But there has been a church here since early 14th century. Also inside is a small Lifeboat museum, with history of some very notable wrecks & people onboard. The Graveyard is steeped in historical people & families. I even discover a Victoria cross recipient, hidden in the long grass & nettles.
