Thanks Kev! That's an impressive lychgate, and Daish's Hotel looks like quite an establishment. A new governor-general took office here in Australia yesterday (1 July). 🪦
Thank you muchly my friend. The Lychgate is like no other I've ever seen. We will see more of Daish's soon, as I've done a walk through the Old village.
@@spitfirekev Sir John Popham acquired Littlecote house, just down the road from me in 1589 from wild William Darrell (a scandalous fellow indeed). Good job buddy 😊
I'm currently catching up with everyone's videos, Kev, so sorry about the delay. This was a beautiful location and a lovely tour. The grave with the cage was very moving to see. It's an unusual design and it's strange for the young lady to have been married at just 15, even in 1800. I noticed from the stone that she lived at Manor Farm, Shanklin, so, given the grandure of the grave, perhaps there was money involved. Anyway, it's a sad but very interesting find. 👍
Gosh, what a lovely spot. 🌳 I would love our 15 acres to look like this! 🐟 (the pond bit at the start!) If you take a look at my cemetery playlist and see the ones we have up north in SA, such dry desolate places. 🪦 ....And I thought we had stunning gates at North Road Cemetery in Adelaide, that Lynch gate is beautiful. Sorry I missed the prem, I thought Mondays am here. I did go looking at your channel a couple of days ago for an upcoming, but couldn't find one, I miss out on the gossip if I don't get there 😂 Those wood crosses are awesome. i don't think i've ever seen an old site over there up for reclaiming, we are shameless over here...I should make a video and show you 😂😂 (I can barely get a video out every 2 weeks!) It's a beautiful Church, grounds and history Kev, thanks for showing.
Thank you muchly Nardia. When I saw the pond, I had to put it in. The Lychgate is like nothing I've ever seen before. It's just so beautiful. I'm going to be doing another video, with a walk through the old village. I'm going to do a poll, on which evening is better, Sunday or Monday. I'll check your SA videos out later. I sent you an email the other day, by the way. Hope to catch up with you soon. 😊
@@spitfirekev Just lovely, I look forward to seeing the village. I'm fine with either, I think its around 8am here?...something like that. Cool, I'll check my emails. Speak soon 😁
the church is lovely inside.
Lots of fish in that pond. So relaxing.

What an amazing Church Kev, thank you so much for showing us around. The Pophams were a big name round our way in the 16th-17th century. Great job 😊
Thank you muchly my friend. For some reason I didn't even do any research on the Pophams.

No need to worry Andy. But thank you muchly for watching. I'm going to see if I can find anymore history on the grave. I'm really intrigued. 👍
Brilliant video Kev, I’ve never seen a grave with a cage on before, 👏🏻🫡
Thank you muchly Steve. The cage is to prevent, grave robbing.
@@spitfirekev seems obvious now you tell me.

Very nice Kev 👍 I’m rewatching what I missed, oh my cell service dropped before I could tell you to turn off the lights, I’m sorry 😂
