- Cemetery Strolls, Episode 46 : St Boniface, Bonchurch, Isle of Wight. The church is 19th century & built to replace the Old St Boniface Church, which was down on the cliff tops. Several local notable families all helped to contribute towards the finances, for the new church. There are a few notable people laid to rest in this beautifully set place. Including & Author & Poet & The First ever Prime minister of New Zealand, children, plus a Actress

Hi old friend. Another doc to your credit. A little story. Some years back there was another skipper that worked for the same company that I was with, we still keep in touch, who had a young fella who signed on board one of his ships. The lad had just earned his AB's ticket, and was ready to be paid to see the world. He worked hard, and when George tried to encourage him to climb the ladder, rank wise, the lad said he didn't want to. The lad always tried to get on the same ships that George skippered, and after about 15yrs the lad said goodbye and left the Merch. Some years later, George actually found out who the lad was. He comes from a very wealthy prominent family, and became a rebel from his first step. He started his own business, nothing grand, married a local girl from where he settled, and has his own family. Old proverb: Those who do read have no advantage over those who won't read. Cheers SK.
