You’re such a lovely person sometimes I get depressed and get stuck and I have to be grateful for everything that I have and think good thoughts then I get the sewing bug again and start sewing sewing. Always cheers me up. I go to another place every time I get to sell.
@@KathleenValdez-j5k thank you, I love that we don't have to stay stuck. There is always a new day and new energy for sewing
I love your ward room. Wish I could sew as nice as you so I’m working on it.
Thank you, Kathleen, you will get there. Take your time with your items and pick the right fabric with the right pattern.
Lovely makes well done 👏😀
@barbaracorcoran4332 thank you
Oh Katinka ! What a wonderful Fall style show! ❤. What fun🎉. Thank you!!!

Your sound sound is amazing by the way !
Yay, thank you! The Dji mic is really good. It was worth the investment
Hi Katinka ! hope you are doing very well !
I am, thank you.
All the makes are so good, I love dresses personally so I loved all of them, blue was fav but all were fab
Thank you 😊. I lost my hair at 17 and thought I could not wear dresses anymore. Until a few years back when I finally realized that my Identity is not in my hair, I am still a dresses girl and so I embraced it and now I love twirling!
@@theseamstressatthecottage ❤ Yes You are right, Infact you inspire me so much. I got all white at very young age. Some of my kids friends think me as grandmother when they do not know me. My kids are small and i feel bad for them, they might get bullied for this as they grow. I feel no right to dress up when i do not color my hair and literally go about like sitting at home. I know this is my own insecurity inside i need to learn to handle. 😞
@Sunshineandlemon there is this one girl from one of the Baltic nations who has 100000 followers on TH-cam and she has been gary since her teens. Embrace your gray and make it your signature, some people pay lots of money to get it. Dress up if you want to or dow but please love yourself. You are worth it!
I love that red dress❤.. 25.00 is a lot for a pattern imo
It is such a lovely dress. It is a pattern by silversaga patterns called the Ella dress.
Thank you Katinka, such a beautiful, feminine wardrobe which suits you. I will be watching this again - lots of ideas even though I am older and a totally different shape, I love all your makes ❤
You are so welcome, Sue. I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed it.
Can you sew some thin elastic around the sleeves on your beautiful vest?
I tried it and it didn't work, it feels like there is just to much fabric. Sadly I think that I will have to reknit the top part.
Thank you for sharing 😊 as a beginner sewist I get excited seeing the what’s possible when it comes to a handmade wardrobe
You are so welcome! There are some really beautiful beginner friendly patterns out there. Just make sure you pick the right fabric with the right patients. Happy sewing.
I love, love, love the black pants with white flowers. Did you say the fabric was corduroy? Is that a recent make? I would love to know where you got the fabric!
It is corduroy, and was given to me by a friend, 10 years ago. I finally made it, 2 years ago. I did see some similar fabric on easy. Just Google rose printed needlecord.
Thank you Katinka, I love your wardrobe this video was so inspiring and you makes are beautiful. I love so many things the pants with the frill, the scalloped jumper, the petticoat, the smocked dress and the knitted cardigan oh my goodness you must be so proud don't forget to celebrate how clever you are.🤩🥰
Thank you so much! I do sometimes forget that this was a journey and did not just happen overnight. I am so glad you liked it and thank you for watching.
You are such a beautiful soul. Sometimes, we just need to stop and evaluate were we are in life. It is so eady to keep adding things on time. I have tried to be more mindful and present, so I can really enjoy family. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Linda, I am an advocate for life audits. It really helps with seeing where you are at.
Loved this video!! Ty for putting on all the items. It really helps to see what they look like on a body. All the best to you 💕
You are so welcome! I actually find it a letdown when people just show the things on hangers and not put it on so you can see how it fit. Thank you for watching.
wow Katina great wardrobe I especially love that jumpsuit and that grey cardigan is awesome . I really like your layering ideas thanks so much for sharing
Thank you, I am working on the jumpsuit pattern and hope to have it ready soon. I love layers, it just makes sense.
Such a good person, thank you for video ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Lovely wardrobe!
Thank you! 😊
Swishing is VERY important! 🤣 we swing dance and I ALWAYS test the twirl before I wear something out.
Swishing is what dreams are made of!😁
I love all your garments! It's amazing
thank you so much.
What a great wardrobe collection for Autumn-Winter Katinka ❤ and I love how the pieces are versatile and can be conjugated with others!

Love your makes. They were very flattering plus I have a big bum and your style choices are good for me .
@@charlottehayward5943 awesome, I am glad you found someone styles that you liked.
Hi Katinka, what a fabulous wardrobe. The colours all go so well together and the various garments are so versatile. I also love the swish of a long skirt and am currently in the process of making a dress out of cotton lawn. The various dress patterns you chose would also suit me, so I watched your choice of fabric and pattern very closely. A delightful video. 🌸
Thank you, Julie 😊, you can't go wrong with a swish! Cotton Lawn...how I love thee! I am glad to hear that you found inspiration with this video.
I watched all the way. Loved it ❤😊

I’m watching Buy Now on Netflix and I’m coming to the disappointing realisation that even my sewing hobby is contributing to the textile pollution problem. All the new fabrics out there contribute to the problem. I try to buy thrifted or deadstock but it’s not always possible to get what I’m looking for. Feeling defeated. 😢I love all your makes though.
I think it is about the awearess, I trift and buy dead stock but if I want something specifick, then I buy it in the best quality that I can afford and make a timeless pice that I can weare for manny seasons. That way my cost per wear goes down and the item is not short term. I also try not to buy fabrick unless I have a plan for it. Please dont feel defeated, sewing and making your own clothes is such a beautifull skill.
I love, love, love the black pants with white flowers. Did you say the fabric was corduroy? Is that a recent make? I would love to know where you got the fabric!
It was corduroy and was a gift from a dear friend 10 years ago and I made it in to pants 2 years ago. I saw some similar fabric on etsy . It was like $20 a meter . A bit steep for my budget. But just Google needle cord with roses on it and it shoeld come up.
Love your makes ❤
thank you!
So much to think about in your video! Thank you for sharing. I think modern society sometimes makes us think life should be easier than it is, we should be happy like people in advertisements...but they're actors - real life is quite different and there are challenges we never anticipate. Sometimes sewing brings solace and a little feeling of being able to control something, anyway; other times it can be hard to get started. Comparison is the thief of joy, I know for a fact - I enjoy all the different sewing videos I watch for different reasons, but I am a very slow sewer and sometimes that can get me down because I want to do much more than I get done while some vloggers seem quite able to be on top of getting things done. We all go at our own pace, it's not a race, and we all "win" in different ways that are right for us. The pleasure of making something that is right for us is worth it.
I really appreciate your insightful comment! It’s so true that we often compare ourselves to others, but embracing our unique pace is what makes our creative journey special. Thank you for being part of this community!
I think you look so pretty in the rust and red dresses. I love swish in my clothing too.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words about the dresses. They definitely have a lovely swish to them!
Lovely makes❤
Thank you 😊
Loving all the midi dresses on you. Especially the autumnal colours. Thank you for your video.
I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I am a midi dress girl and can't get enough of them.
This was so much fun ! Thank you for showing us 😊❤
Glad you enjoyed it! It was good for me to do it, now I know what I have.
I love that red dress and don't see just sleeves, just make them slightly narrow if you so wish. I think they balance out the dress
Thank you, I will try that and then decide.
Hi Katinka. What a great walk through with twirls of your autumn/winter wardrobe! Thanks for taking us along. Just an idea to avoid anything tight around the waist, I made overalls out of wool fabric (lined). They are wonderfully warm. The fabric was inherited from a friend: a brown and cream small houndstooth check. I imagine wool overalls would look great with all your lovely hand knitted sweaters, Antonia
Thank you, that is such a good Idea. I have some wool in my South African stash that I could use. I will have to look into that for next winter.
Which pattern did you use for the trousers/pants with the frills around the bottom please Katinka? They are adorable. Also could you tell me what kind of fabric you made them up in?
Hi Sandra, it is my own design. I am working on that pattern and hope to have it ready in the new year. I used a mid weight woven gingham in cotton linen.
Thank you!@@theseamstressatthecottage
Your wardrobe looks very versatile so far! If you are looking for a comfy pair of pants, I would recommend the love notions Duet trousers. I made a pair in Ponte, and immediately made a second pair in stretch corduroy from JoAnn's. I gave them a yoga waistband so they are super comfortable, just pull them up, no zipper. The pattern is designed with a generous rise and accommodates a sizable bum. I really should made a petticoat like yours! Meanwhile getting by with my old slips. And I love all your sweaters and cardigans!
Thank you, that pattern have popped up on my radar quite a bit, I need to look into it.
@theseamstressatthecottage I resisted for a long time but so glad I did. Big 4 pants never fit me right. The Duet are drafted for a much curvier shape and fit great without modifications.
Thank you!
Wow what a great fashion parade you have done very well love it ❤😊😊
Thank you Robyn, it was good to see what I have and if there are gaps.
