Thank you, I love the fabric, and the pattern, but part of me is still not sure about the 2 together, but I have 4 things to do before I get to it, so I can still make up my mind.
In the UK we call that in between warm weather an 'Indian summer'. No idea where it comes from. But it is when the heat suddenly overwhelm you when you were already starting to think about your winter clothes. Love the new wool.

Katinka, it is funny that you asked how we deal with Autumn when it still feels like summer. Here in Northeastern North Carolina it is hot, hot , hot BUT I do feel a difference in how the mornings are and it does seem Autumn is on its way but Summer wants to win the fight. Today, I switched all my summer clothes to a different part of my closet even though I will still be wearing them for awhile. Hope is eternal that it will get cool fast. Enough of summer!! You are doing a lot of projects and cannot wait to see them all. Love the fabric for your Autumn dress and I think you will look great in that brown vest!!

Love your new fabric and it will be nice in the 7974. I have that pattern too and I love seeing how different everyone makes it up. I wish we had a HobbyLobby in Alaska. They always have fun stuff and good sales. As for our weather, we have 6 months of winter and often have cool summers so I don't make a lot of hot weather clothes but we really enjoy the few days of 80 degrees (F) that we get. 🙂
@deniseberger4963 Denise, I am really blessed to have a hobby lobby. In South Africa the pickings were limited. Alaska has always fascinated me.

@ceblair4974 thank you 😊 knitting is something I can do without thinking, and I can get consumed by it, if I am not careful. My body does not let me knit so much anymore and I am actually thankful for that. I love cross-stitching but that is something my hands really can't do. I am really looking forward to make that dress
Hobby Lobby alternates sales each week between fabrics and yarns. I usually look at thier website before going to make sure which week they are on. As always, Katinka, love to see your work. God bless!

Yes, I do the same thing all the time! I go in for 1 thing and end up bringing 10 home! That Fall rayon is a perfect match with that McCalls dress pattern. Also your floral linen dress is beautiful. All New Look patterns are 99 cents at Hobby Lobby until they are sold out. They are getting rid of them. My Hobby Lobby has no patterns. It depends on where you are but some places are still warm in the Fall. I wear Summer clothes and then add a cardigan as it gets cooler. Gradually I wear warmer clothes. Have a great week Katinka!

Dress in layers , depending on where you are, some states have Indian summers like the west coast in the fall hot in the days cooler in the mornings .

Weather in the UK cool and misty this morning but I was still pondering cutting out tailored shorts ... the glamorous dress pattern I bought and the khaki cords are also whispering to me though!! 😂 Happy making !

I grew up in Kentucky and the weather can be crazy.I've seen it snow on Halloween and be 70 degrees on Christmas Day. You just roll with it..;) Love that fabric!

I’m in KY! It’s been very humid here; however, we get a break this week. Growing up, the weather was much different than now. I miss snow! I always loved seeing fresh snow and everything a beautiful white.

Hi Katinka. It's the change in light that makes me realize fall is coming -- the days getting a little shorter in little increments. Yes, the trees are turning (even here in California), but September and October are often our hottest months. It was always a joke when we went back to elementary school right after Labor Day with our one new school outfit which was always way too hot. Layers are a great strategy for the temperature swings. I love your little haul ! Your fabric will be perfect for that McCall’s dress pattern! That’s actually one of the dresses I plan on finally making this fall as well… But I’m still struggling to find the perfect fabric myself!
As for the weather, I wish I could get some good advice. After living in Colorado for almost 9 years I’m used to having up to three seasons of weather and one day. 😂🥴 So, I’ve just learned to hope for the best and be prepared for the worst.

Katinka, I just wear whatever the weather is for the day🤣 I just roll with the changes. I have my heavy wool coat that is long and when it’s a wintery chilly day, it’s pulled out. I have my wool sweaters I use if it’s not below freezing but I need some warmth. Summer heat… shorts and tee or a linen dress are worn starting in spring and going through fall. I can change colors to get seasonal look.
I don’t purchase much from my HL in fabrics. I don’t usually have much success with their fabrics. I do think some places may get better fabric though🤣🤣 I try to shop fabric stores which means driving 2-3 hrs one way to get to a nice fabric selection. I love sale racks! I always check those first.
I love knitting. I picked up my fall cardigan which I’m using a British publication magazine pattern to make it. Makes me use metric😊I hope to finish this one this year. Then I started a new pullover/jumper sweater that is by a French designer made out of Plutolopi yarn! It will have to be very cold for me to wear this… probably with a wind chill of sun-zero or single digits!
@bluegrassdreams2seams510 oh, you made me giggle. Okay, I will wear whatever I want!! I would love to knit with plotelopy yarn but it is so warm that I would never wear it. I am lucky that I have quite a few places close to me where I can get fabric, but to tell you the truth, I don't buy that much. I n the last year I only got 12 pieces that was for me and then some duvet covers and sheets.

Hi Katinka! I'm going to be in South Africa at the end of the month (excited!!!). I don't know if I'll get a chance to fabric shop but a piece of Ankara would be a wonderful souvenir. I watched your recent videos on Cape Town. Would Fashion Fabrics be a good place to look for some? Is there somewhere on the V&A Waterfront selling it? Thanks for any advice.
Oh Liz, that is so exciting!! I haven't really seen fabric at the V&A but I think I did see some African batik fabric at Fashion Fabrics. Seshwe is an south African fabric and what you are looking for is more central Africa. But you do find it in SA sometimes, because we are such a mixed bag of people.
