Actually this is something that annoys me ever since San Andreas did not improve but left out features when GTA IV came out. I think there should be a law that games have to incorporate or improve like 70% of distinctive features within a game series. Or else its entrapment.

johns iconic attitude and sense of humor is obviousky better in the original. they watered down RDR2s john to be a side character to tell arthurs story (i love arthur dont get me wrong) and then tried to fill in the gaps with the epilogue but what the epilogue doesnt get is the "dont give a crap" attitude john has in the first game. hes way more passive in 2. "abgail we were shot at, someone followed us and i had to fire back" while in red dead one its "you tell me where they are at or il put a bullet in you@

whats funny is SOME Horses do run into obstacles, indicating they are dumber, so even the horses themselves have levels of intelligence wich is funny

RDR1 multi had a real no pvp mode, which prevented the annoying bitch kids to kill you for fun and ruin your game.

The only option that will save GTA6 will be a "simulated driving" setting like the Mafia Games have. It's very clear that they can't please both crowds of people, and I honestly don't even want to play it if the cars handle like they do in GTAV

In rdr 1 the cheats are better and you can save the game, in addition there is an infinite life cheat, in rdr 2 you cannot save and there is no infinite life, you have to enter the cheat menu every time to fill up your life .

I feel like movement in general felt better in RDR1

It’s like that famous saying: “Give a little get a little.” There’s things that RDR2 can’t do compared to RDR1, but there’s also a lot of things RDR2 does better.

The interior one is dumb cus in the main part of the map u can enter wayyy more interiors the main thing RDR1 does better is the ambient music it’s 100000x better in 1 than in 2 also John sucks in 2 they ruined his character

Aside from the stagecoach fast travel, you can actually talk to people in RdR2 and ask them to give you a ride. I found that out by accident in Saint Denis at some point.

Rdr 1 campsite fast system is epic especially when fast travel to custom waypoints. It's Like having asi trainer

The drunk ragdoll physics hurts... that was one of my favorite things to do in RDR1

I would have liked a basic swimming in RDR 2.

I still remember getting John drunk in Red Dead 1 just see him falling off stairs with the ragdoll physics when I was a kis, It was so funny😂 Shame that Red Dead 2 didn't kept it.

At this point, I think they’re going to bring back all of these mechanics and then some into RDR3, so we can be impressed and call it the greatest game of all time time

Say whatever you want to but that would never change the fact that RDR2 is milestones better than RDR1. There is no denying that nostalgia plays some sort of coping mechanism for older fans but that is just a figment of your imagination and nothing else. RDR2 is something that achieves realism through multitude of trivial and insignificant things that are hard to count on finger. It's story is equally or more significant than its aging brother.

RDR 1 had more interesting characters. Seth, Irish, Nigel West Dickens, Bonnie, Landon Rickets, etc. Made it feel like a movie almost.

still my opinion rdr2 is much better.

Both games were superior. I’d say gta iv was more impressive being able to implement that in 2008 is just impossible. nowadays games can’t even do 0.1% of what gta iv did. Just too bad it has super toxic fans. They are so obsessed with gta v. They can’t sleep without trashing gta v. GTA v is a way better game

And another thing that really bothers me is the helicopter in GTA V In GTA IV, If you crash the helicopter, it will be damaged like when you crash a car, it brokes and lose its rear propeller causes a lot of smoke to come out and the helicopter becomes out of control in the air as it falls; and when it's falls, depending on the high you are, the helicopter crash on the ground and broke it's systems, Niko can die or just hurt when it happens. Now in GTA 5, if you crash the helicopter not even being in high speed it will explode, if it fall on the ground it will instantly explode... I will never understand all this downgrade between GTA IV to V.

R* games ragedoll physics always a dowgrade in newer games my fav is gta 4 physics

Something i really found fun to do in RDR1 that its not possible in RDR2 was when you are riding a horse you could aim on the horse's head and shoot, the horse died and you falls into the ground, i remember doing that many times just for fun, but on RDR2 you can't do that, not even on your non main horses

The original even looks better. RDR2 always has a gross, cartoony colour palette.
