This is crazy! When I first heard of the Hermes’ games or Hermes’ journey I couldn’t believe people would actually engage this. But I guess if you want their bag from their store, you need to play by their rules, however crazy they are. However I think for most of Hermes’ customs it is not them who are being impatience, disrespectful, it is Hermes driving people to insanity! My 2 cents.

I’m not interested in getting a birkin bag at all but I can say that every Hermes boutique I’ve shopped in the SA’s have always been so gracious and helpful in every way. I know what I like to see and feel comfortable there. That’s my experience.

I didn’t start buying luxury until we were very very settled. Now we are making in the 7 digits a year and I buy luxury without even feeling bad about it. We have assets, great cars that are paid for, very low mortgage. Sp when I hear people saying that only poor people buy luxury or it’s too expensive. It’s just that some of us can afford it in a responsible manner! I never ever look at people trying to figure out if they can afford it or not! Not my problem! Now we are traveling, paying the college for the kids, we have money in the bank and it’s what matters. Having money makes life easier, for us and for our kids. I can help family if they need!

That’s like me not wanting the newest iPhone but I will drop thousands on a handbag. 😂 it comes down to priorities, perspective, and what makes u happy In my humble opinion. To each their own, for sure. The ones that are quick to “judge” I feel are reflecting on their own insecurities! Money in general is taboo because people struggle with $, and they’re in debt. I love luxury lifestyle. You only live once, if u have the $$$-enjoy it-Guilt Free-but also be responsible. Saving money takes time for me personally but it’s worth it, being financially stable and being able to afford the luxuries that you Deserve.

People always act high and mighty when it’s someone else’s life, but given the chance they would too. Sounds like jealousy and resentment when it’s not them when it’s comments such as, “could have bought x,y,z or spent it like x,y,z instead of ____”.

I have purchased a fake bag once before. Didn't realize it was a scam. They didn't ship it to me at all. I'm so sad about it. When talking to a friend, he recommended H Q D U P S to me. The quality of their home is comparable to the original. Now I only buy bags at H Q D U P S. They also saved me a lot of money

I think its easier for guys to score bags. I didnt even want a bag but it was my SA who gave suggestions. Of the three I ended up puttng on my wishlist, shes already fulfilled two of them within four months. The third bag she already told me will be before then end of the year. You really have to spend tho. The ratio theory has been super spot on too. Also, it helps to be a local cos’ when she texts me she has a bag she needs me to there within an hour or they’ll call the next client.

Interesting! I never got a bag right away in the US but it happened in Paris. Most of my bags in the US got acquired after a big purchase of multiple thousands in one go. But I had to wait 1-2-3 weeks for my offers. That being said, probably because of it, I had never waited a year or not even half a year for an offer. So yes, I would say it can work like that. But to me, the true winners are the ones that get a bag with minimal spending. Unfortunately, it had never happened to me in the US.

I learned the hard way with my game on sneakers as well. Same black color with Palladium hardware. Worn them first time at airport and my feet were killing me on the long walk to and from gate.

Ironically I have been offered 2 birkins from my sales associate that I used to use (my Charlotte NC store closed). I didn't buy huge amounts but I bought things I truly liked. I think the store actually just "liked" me in the sense that I would show them pics of my horse, my chickens - and also because I think they kind of KNEW that I didnt really care about B or K. I turned down both of the Birkins offered - I was more into Halzan and Picotin and 140cm. I did buy in the past quite a bit of equestrian products. I was introduced to Hermes when I was in college riding - I THOUGHT Hermes was solely a tack manufacturer *lol*

It is so because a luxury company prefers that their products represent them on the truly rich, rather than on pretending to be reach people.

I agree with everything you stated here especially with buying a new bag and feeling over the moon for about a week and then looking for that same feeling again within the next bag I’m trying so hard to break the cycle but it’s very difficult to break the habit

Of course Hermés (like most companies) treats their best customers better than the average person. Someone who buys saddles and other horse gear from them spends an incredible amount of money. Famous people are a different topic, luxury brands like them to be "brand ambassadores".

Misleading They dont wait long because they frontload

I believe if someone like Taylor Swift would want a birkin or kelly bag. She doesn’t need a journey, nor does spending requirement. Taylor get get her rep on the phone to Hermès and one of the quota bags will be delivered at her doorstep. Wealth does require ultra spending, but uber celebrity do get a say of which bags they want.

The wealthy are doing a journey, it just takes place in a fraction of the time because they spend a regular person's years $ total in a few minutes. They can get anything they want because they regularly prepend a limited edition crocs worth of $$$$.

I mean, to be VVIP at Hermès you have to spend something like 1 million a year, I think it’s understandable that they are not waiting for their bags. Actually, when I was spending a lot there, I wasn’t waiting long for a bag. They always have bags, they just distribute them as they please. Most people will get only one bag a year or every other year, but again, spend more and be a very very good client and you’ll get more. To me it’s luxury, no one needs an Hermès bag to survive, so I really don’t care. I actually understand why, they not only get bags without wait, but they also get the very limited edition bags. If I don’t spend that money, and actually cannot spend that money, so be it, it’s not the end of the world!

The wealthy dont care about the price, they could just buy through private shoppers. But connection and introduction by other wealthy people secure private appointments on the flagship store. Im so happy with my journey, it came so easy that i could relate to the wealthy. Its so ironic 😂. But i might get there.

My hubby is from the Philippines. He doesn’t care about luxury life at all 😂 I wish I was simple like him. I’m completely the opposite 😥 I blame wanting “more” on social media 🥴 for me personally it’s my self-worth and self esteem if I’m being truly honest here. It’s a spiritual warfare for me. Praying about it 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I truly just want to be genuinely happy and not become so attached to my handbags. Sometimes it scares me.

TY for sharing your story. Very inspirational. I’m a mom of 3, and I raise my 2 special needs sons. After being a stay at home mom of 16 years, I just started my luxury collection. It’s funny because I’ve accumulated over 10+ luxury bags and I still wasn’t fulfilled. I realized it stemmed from depression and missing my mom. My parents live in Vegas now, and I only see them once a year if I’m lucky. My mom is in her mid 70s now and I’m turning 40 this year. I truly feel like all the bags in the world can’t bring me happiness. I would rather spend that $ on experiences and more time with my mom. 🙏🏽😢 gladly, I am able to see her this month for her birthday. 😫 life is too short…so sorry about ur mom and two dogs hun. Agreed. They got high for a week or two-in some cases some those became hoarder as I’ve seen. In cases some those TH-camr got quite young children that said pretty much set up bad example for their children as they turn into adult-those hubby who rich probably like to spoil their spouses but setting up bad example and environment for their children.

All your reasons are valid and spot on. I simply love what Hermes stands for as a brand, and to this day, in my opinion the quality is simply unmatched. My preference will always be the boutique for bags, however I am an opportunistic buyer. I go pre-love for discontinued items for e.g. and to test exotic SLGs and figure out what leathers K really appreciate. Also, let’s be real for a sec: something people tend to forget: Hermes is really expensive. Not being offered a bag every single time I visit a boutique also allows me to pace myself and shop responsibly somehow.
