Why does Carhartt make everything so damn short
Such aNurse practitioner car😂
They look awesome! Do these tires affect the luxury ride quality at all? I have a 23’GX460 as well and want a nice all terrain tire when the time comes to replace the stock Michelins. Thanks.
Question. Why you don't use your roof tent ? I appreciate your answer. Thank you
Hey just concerned that a heavy snowfall would close the tent, also i dont like using it in rain or snow because i have to dry it out for a day or two afterwards
Great job! Did it come with the clear the clear tape for under the wind faring?
Can you make a video on how you attached your license plate
Ive had 265/65/18 on mine for about 40k miles. They been great. Plenty off road use, no rubbing.
This is exactly the video I was looking for. Thank you for making this!! Looking at getting a Highlander but noticed I couldn’t sit up straight in the trunk
Looks good and like the look and was going on this exact path but wanted a little more poke on the wheels that’s why I ended up changing my wheels and tires and leveling the fronts. Hated the factory rake. I think that’s the perfect way to go if it’s just a daily driver like mine.
Awesome, can you tell me what leveling kit you used I'm interested in doing the same
@@HappyRockOffroad Eibach pro truck shocks set at 1.77” lift. No need for aftermarket UCA and keeps the rest of the suspension safe and reliable while maintaining good alignment. I do minimal off roading with this GX and is a daily driver and wanted to keep the ride similar to stock, just wanted to rid of that factory rake, and this was the best choice.
@@lawrencesayoc7459 awesome i appreciate the info!
Where do you store all your stuff overnight when sleeping in the vehicle?
I just dropped the side of the awning and there is a bit of sheltered space beside the vehicle. Also underneath the Highlander. No bears in this area so we weren't too worried about food storage
Music selection really works for the outdoor peace
I like your roof rack, where did you get them?
It's a tyger brand roof rack from amazon
very nice. looking to do something similar. i want to keep it simple for a daily driver that can still do enough when needed.
Is there rubbing the front wheels?
No rubbing whatsoever
Can we connect new fog light and new wiring? If yes how is the size of wire
That’s a good looking color on your truck
Thank you! Cement/ Matte grey looks good on any vehicle
Love the gx but not the roof rack and the pin stripe together. Go for a cleaner look.
that power box is a game changer! Induction stove and Kurig are in my load-out too. What do you use the popup tent for?
We used it as dry storage, for our bags and such. Also when I go solo camping I use it as a decoy tent. Yeah that power box means I can leave the propane tanks, Half my cooking gear and jackery battery at home!
Dope setup! Ranger truck?
Yep 2021 ranger tremor
This is the only way to go as far as upgrading the tires on the factory GX wheels. I'm getting my new 265/65R18 Copper All Terrains mounted this morning at Discount Tire. I really wanted the 275/65R18 as I think it looks slightly better. I stuck with the 265/65R18 however. I researched this thoroughly and it's not just it rubbing those screws and or fender liner you have to worry about.......It's the UCA's in the front. I read a few stories of guys having the 275 rub on it and one guy even downsized to the 265/65 as it just wouldn't stop rubbing the UCA. Then to top it all off none of these driving tests that are being done after getting the 275's mounted involve anything close to full wheel articulation. The 275 owners think it rubs a little now but just wait until they take it off road. The 275 just isn't worth the headache. I honestly may add may add a set of extremely high quality 1" Bora Spacers later on. I'm not against high quality hub centric spacers as long as they are not to big. The reason I wanted the 275 so much is the GX is already a very tall and not very wide SUV the way it is. Then the wheels are super tucked into the fenders on top of that.........The GX looks way way better when you have wider tires or space the tire out closer to a +0 offset. Also, The other thing I don't hear people talk about enough is the lack of actual good looking aftermarket "18" or "17" wheels. I'm sorry but all the off-road style wheels look like shit on the GX. You can get good looking 20"-22" inch wheels but those sizes would make your GX ride terrible. What brand did you with for the mud flap delete or did you just cut yours?
Hey yes I agree no rubbing with my current setup and with mild off road. It best to stay as close to oem spec because those little japanese engineers know what they are doing. I just cut my mud flaps but I did add some ppf to the are behind where the flaps used to be
How does it handle the snow is it really cold or decent?
Hellyea!
Getting one soon. What Overlanding set up is that? Like the Rack and Tent combo?
Nice GX! Would love to see more content if you do any more mods. The mudflap removal helps with the look a lot.
What happened to the Ranger Tremor ?
Hi Jess we traded it in last winter. We were waiting for the ranger raptor but I think we wanted to try a different platform for a while. The jeep is cool because we can go places i couldn't w the tremor and the payments were less than even our Tremor. We'll have it for a little while, and we will jump back into a ranger or f150 raptor/tremor when the new gens have a few years to work out the kinks/recalls
@@HappyRockOffroadok. Got it. I also have a ranger tremor lariat. We just got back from mammoth and did the Laurel lakes trail. That’s a rough trail but the ranger handled it fine. I too wanted the ranger raptor but the dealers are putting an insane mark up, $20-30k. The new tremor should be out next year. It’s supposed to have the 2.7 V6 twin turbo. I’ll wait for the new tremor. I think the tremor is a better all around truck. The raptor is more of a dessert racer. You loose tow capacity with the raptor. Have fun in the jeep. 😊
Are they still made by Mazda ?
No I think they stopped making them in 2009
what'up. Thanks! fantastic shots- 🤗
Awesome, Thank you! 😊
is this the XL?
Not the XL
Looks great, which rain deflectors I did you install?
WellVisors Window Visors Wind Deflectors Compatible With Lexus GX460 2010-2023 Premium Series Rain Guards 3-847LX015 a.co/d/iKvObOf
No rubbing on the front wheel well?
Non at all! Haven't been off roading with it though but day to day no rub, even in reverse at full lock
You think spacers would make this tire setup rub?
I did this trail in my ZR2 and scraped a few times...then I got there and there was a totally stock Subaru Outback at the campsite. We were all amazed they made it...but props to them. It apparently is possible!
Haha it's crazy what you'll find at the end of a trail. I always run into civics, priuses and tesla model 3s on top of a snow covered mountain
I've done every high mountain pass in CO with my Jeep on 37'' tires, and as you said, sometimes you get to the top and see all kinds of stock subies and various stock SUVs, stuff, haha. Crazy!
Hey, what racks were you using across your tub?
I bought them from syneticusa.com
@@HappyRockOffroad legend, thanks
Nice, It looks more aggressive which is good.
Nice video bro.
Thank you!
Does ur GX lean to the right when you hold the steering wheel center?
Because mine does, and no matter I did 5 times alignment , it still does
Look up gx 460 kdss lean, yours might have that issue
I've been going up there 52 years!😊
Great video!
Good truck, good vehicle. Not sure my rig can do that.
Where did you get the decals ?
Hey I got them from etsy but ebay also has them
love camping,
Nice! Just got mine, getting tint today and same tires later this summer.
nice you'll like them, so much better than stock
@@HappyRockOffroad Hey what brand roof Rack do you have?
This is the garage that once housed the ultimate home gym! What a difference.
haha yeah those were the days!!
Looks really great whit the new tires I own a 2023 Lexus GX460 with the sport package so I have 19 in wheels and I’m not sure what type of tire should I use to make it look little more off road but thanks for the video
you're welcome. thank you for watching and sweet ride!
What did you do about the spare tire ?
hey i kept it the same, i think the stock spare is good enough to get me to the nearest service center.
Any noticable gas mileage drop?
tbh i havent noticed much of a drop, im getting 14 mpg around city and 19 hwy before and after the upgrade
Do you have to air down on this road? thanks
If it was snowing then yes but not that day, 35 psi
Hey brother! Thank you for writing back. I decided to stay down by lake hemet last week because I was scared going up by myself. I hope to go up thomas mountain next month. Can I ask which yellow post # you stayed at?? Any recommendations for camp locations? 😂 newbie here
God bless!
When you go camping to “ Get away from it all , but still manage to bring it all with you , Music , video, extra stuff ……”. The woods is supposed to be a piece of peace & quiet & solace . For most of us anyways . Still enjoy seeing others like yourselves getting out to enjoy what nature has to offer . 👍
I don't understand why you have a tent on your vehicle? If you want to drive away from your campsite you have to pack it up, if you have to pee or get something you have to climb up and down a ladder. On top of all that it's tiny like a pup tent. I don't get it, not like your safer up there. Just seems really inconvenient and small. Not too mention expensive and then your stuck driving around with a big box on top of your truck which isn't gonna help your gas mileage. Just get a nice big tent. Then you have the ability to drive somewhere without breaking camp.
the fact that you cant even get a late model tremor anymore shows how valuable they are
