CAMPING and PHOTOGRAPHY in the LAKE DISTRICT
In this video I head off on a road trip around northern England and Scotland. I try my hand at landscape photography and enjoy just being out and about in my VW T4 camper van, with my border terrier Fergus. Any images were a bonus...

I filmed this video back last February after a morning photographing dippers. I was in two minds about releasing it as I wasn't particularly happy with the conditions and the images I achieved. Now looking back, I figured I'd share it with you all anyway. If you'd like to join me on a photo-tour or workshop in the future, please contact me via my website: www.richardcampionphotography.com

In this video I head out into the fields in Derbyshire and photograph brown hares. This time, rather than it being a behind the scenes video, I decided to cover my top tips and the things I've learned over the years I have been photographing these incredible animals. Revisiting my WOODLAND WILDLIFE photography HIDE
มุมมอง 4.2K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Back in 2020 I got my hands on an old shipping box and built a wildlife hide on my family farm in Derbyshire. We had foxes, buzzards, tawny owls and much more visiting but I haven't seen the hide for almost four years. So in this video we revisit the hide, with a view to getting it back into a useable condition. If you want to see more of my work or are interested in joining one of my photo-tou...
Musk Ox in Dovrefjell National park
มุมมอง 8725 หลายเดือนก่อน
I was never going to release this video due to the lack of images and pieces to camera but as I lost this weeks footage, due to a failed sd card, from a video I filmed in my local woodland, it forced the hand to revisit this trip from 2021. I had the most incredible experience watching the Musk Oxen and if you would like to get in touch with Even, you can do so here: www.moskusguiden.no/worksho...

MY WILDLIFE CAMERAS AND LENSES - WHAT I USE FOR WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILM MAKING
Do you think a 200-800mm RF lens would be suitable in London’s winter weather for wildlife photography or would you sacrifice the zoom for a 100-500mm with lower aperture levels? Worried it would be too dark on a typical rainy day!
Lovely images and video
I’m passionate about photographing the Exmoor ponies. I usually photograph the herd at Countisbury.
They are on my bucket list of wildlife to capture
Really helpful thanks
Nice video Rich, enjoying catching up on your awesome vlogs 😊
Enjoyed this especially the section on Buttermere. Always worth a shot of the famous tree and it’s a great run/walk around the Lake. Look forward to the next Scottish video. A cracking wee Border👍
Enjoyed your video thanks for posting 👍
Is this down near Otterton? I'd like to pop down and see them. I was thinking the River Otter between Otterton and Bicton. Is this the right place? I'm only in Exeter.
my sister has a little dog who loves me but he wont walk with me like yours does
Nice 👍🙂
nice video Richard and great shots from the Lakes sunrise, looking forward to seeing if you made it to Mull on this trip.
Great video Richard and glad to see you back on YT. Considering you say you’re not a landscaper those images were pretty good! Looking forward to the Scotland video. 😀
Great pictures Richard, look forward to the next video 👌
Really enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing.
Hi I'm not your Mum and I watch your Vids down here in Sunny Devon. On the rare occasions I make the long trip to lovely Scotland I invariably stop in The Lakes and if I'm with my partner she insits onit!
I enjoy your videos!
I’ve just found your channel and this was a really good watch. I’ll queue up your other video 👍
Great video! What's the name of that waterfall spot because it looks stunning
No worries there Rich on the landscape front, would be well pleased to have captured one or two of those you put up. Look forward to more of your adventure. 👍
Lovely vlog, stunning shots, but Fergus was the star 🤩. I have a Border too- Izzy who’s 14, great dogs, very characterful.
Fab video bud, looking forward to the next one 😊
Love your landscape photos enjoy Scotland
Your landscape images are amazing Rich. I don’t know why you say you struggle - you always incorporate the natural environment of the wildlife subjects you photograph and with landscape you’re just not making them the central characters of your image. 😍
As usual another great video Richard, looking forward to the next one. 👏👏👏
Nothing wrong with those landscapes Richard
Watching from 🇨🇦 Richard, always enjoy your videos, even though at times they can be few and far between 👍👍
I watch every one of your videos. Cheers from San Diego, CA.
Lovely! Look forward to Part 2
those opening scenes were so cinematic mate great little film
My simple view on landscape photography, just like street photography, there is too much fakery! People seem to think they must get world class shots every time, especially after travelling hours and then walking up big mountains to shoot, and then the weather lets them down or a 1000 other things could be wrong. Then they pack up their over expensive z9's and head home and convert all the pictures they didnt catch or have the skill to catch on the mountain into the picture they wish the took on their expensive post applications! Where as I believe wildlife photography is the purist form of photography. There is either a good or bad picture, LR cant really save you, apart from removing noise. You must know the animal, find the dam thing, wait hours in the cold and if you are lucky get a good shot, wildlife photography for me is akin to fishing, you either get a picture or you don't, or try again tomorrow, LR cant help you!
I always enjoy your videos Richard, thanks for sharing. It’s nice that you can do a road trip and take your little dog along for company too, all the best.
Great video, and love yourdog. Definitely be catching up with your upcoming vlogs. 😊
I think we’re all guilty of focusing on the destination rather than what’s on the way! Good video and interesting to hear your comments and landscape photography. I also struggle with it and bow out quickly if I’m not happy, yet persist with wildlife big and small. Your landscapes are good. I’m looking forward to the Highlands video. Safe travels.
Great video! Loved the landscape shots! 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Loved the video Richard and such a cute dog too, to me your landscape images were beautiful 👍. Can't wait to to see the red deer 😊
Glad you enjoyed it and really appreciate it. I’ll let Fergus know he’s got fans 😂👍
Great little video Richard, I too have tried landscapes, I can photograph weddings, wildlife, portraits etc but landscapes just does not happen for me 🙁. Looking forward to your next video, I have just got back from The Isle of Mull, what a trip that was. All the best 👍
Thanks mate. Look forward to your videos from Mull ☺️👍🦦
Cracking video 👍
Thank you so much 😊
Great video mate, really enjoyed this !!!! New subscriber here looking forward to the next one.
Awesome, thank you very much, I really appreciate that 😊👍
Man,van, dog and camera, perfect👍 Absolutely stunning images, you most certainly are a landscape photographer Richard, beautiful video mate👏
Thank you so much, really appreciate you watching and leaving a comment too 👍
I really liked your first two images Richard (@2:57), and I wouldn't say that you aren't a 'Landscape photographer' becasue if you point your camera at a landscape and take an image hey ho you're a landscape photographer. You made the effort, and got out there and that's the important thing, a good shot is just a bonus. I'd say don't start shooting with the attitude that 'I'm no good at this' as I'm sure your initial wildlife shots weren't anywhere near the standard you aspired to, but you still thought you were a wildlife photographer. If you shoot Red Deer in Glen Coe that's landscape photography too - it just has a Red Deer as the subjet, maybe consider making the deer smaller in the landscape (it's natural habitat) to highlight the beauty around it? Practice makes perfect and light maketh the shot in Landscape photography. Hopefully this will be one of those comments that cheer you up 🙂.
Thanks Mark, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. You’re right and that’s what I enjoy most, just getting out there. All the best 😊👍
Wonderful video, what a lovely time you had and the little owl was such a little cutie🥰, an enjoyable watch for sure 👍
Thank you so much ☺️
"Don't tell my wife, cause she does use this one." LOL! Nice video..... found it in a search for how to build a reflecting pool for birds. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Haha yeah turned out she watched the video… thanks so much for watching and really appreciate you taking the time to comment too 👍
Owls are hard to find even if you know where they are.
Absolutely. Thanks for watching 👍
Great video Richard. Really enjoyable. Next time I’m in the U.K must visit Richmond park…looks awesome 👍
Thank you very much, I really recommend going, it’s great for so much wildlife ☺️👍
Always appreciated the content of all wildlife photographers on u-tube Richard, even if the subjects dont play ball. Know there's a lot of effort in just making some worthwhile images let alone lugging the video equipment along too. Well done on the charity event. 👍
Thank you very much. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. Makes it feel much more worthwhile when people do 👍☺️
Hand held do the video ?
I just discovered this video. I have the same thing . But did you video the birds with the same camera
Yes it was all filmed with the 7dmkii ☺️
🙂👍
Beautiful video my friend! Great job. Have a nice day!
Thank you so much
