Luckily I checked at the right time when it said “3 Left” and I hurried so quickly to order it with my 🤞🏻 mentally until it finally shipped. Also, I had rewards so it was -$20 total. It came today and looks stunning 🤩

The sketch Joanna drew of Hilda is how she looked it in the first Hilda graphic novel. Beyond that, I remember liking this episode. It's just different enough from the rest of the series to be memorable without being jarring. love this episode! yes you did have a good oracle moment here but the most insane one is yet to come! I almost fell out of my chair during your S2E5 reaction. if you've already watched the finale go watch that your video starting at 20:25. literally THE ULTIMATE oracle moment 🤯 like how tf did you do it?! that part from season 2 episode 5 definitely should be added to the final reaction

Aye the Non Binary Monster episode! I have to say this is definetly one of my favourite and Id argue best episodes of Hilda. Fantastic music, great sence of suspence and atmosphere, phenomenal creature design and character, and really great momments with Joana and Hilda. There still at bit at odds as any parent with their teen, but you really see how much they love eachother and the lengths that Joana is willing to go for her daughter.

Comparing Phoebe's relationship with the now Chipmunk King to her relationship with Finn is interesting. Both hurt her, bad. But Finn was willing to put in the work, mature, rebuild trust until they were cool being friends again. Her dad on the other hand hasn't even seemed to try. Could it eventually happen? Maybe if he starts, but he's got a long way to go.

Punch Bowl has appeared infrequently throughout the show, starting in season one (The Enchiridion). He was very much a background character who never spoke and never really did anything notable. Probably the most attention that was ever paid to him was actually at the end if Holly Jolly Secrets where he was one of the guests listed off by Shelby. So no worry about not remembering. Comparitively, Manfried, though used sparingly was featured much more prominently and of course Crunchy is one of the most reoccurring of all candy citizens

because of the appearance of that big red guy at the end of puhoy, i’m inclined to believe it was a real dimension. i hope you watch distant lands and fionna and cake too! also SO glad you commented on tom kenny’s acting in this episode, especially at that moment. when he sings “won’t somebody tell me what’s wrong with me, anybody, anybody” i just can’t help but tear up. he’s in so much pain but doesn’t fully understand why, but simon is deep in there, feeling it all, and tom kenny conveys that so well in that scene

I love how Frida and David literally had the exact same thoughts as the community about what happend to him, that or thinking it was the Bell Keeper. As for Anders his.....Complicated I feel, sth about him feels like he might have a mental condition that hightens insecurities and the ability to commit in things, be it job or family. I have met people that have some of these aspects. But then again theres every chance Im wrong and theres sth else about him that leads him to wondering so much.

Honestly, your reaction to anders is fair imo, since I didn't enjoyed him much either. My favourite part of the episode was the polecat, and I wish he appeared in previous seasons as well. Fake spoiler: The shadowy figures are actually Cosmo and Wanda (they're fairly odd-parents cameos) and they are following hilda so she asks for wishes, permanently sealing the fairy godparent - needy child deal. muahahahah

Luke Pearson said once that he was hesitant to address Hilda’s father because he felt the tropes normally explored with absent parents are overdone at this point. I’m paraphrasing, but that’s basically it. He then indicated in later interviews that he was a bit more open to exploring it. Anders is clearly not a typical absent father. I like how they make it obvious he cares about Hilda. The poor guy is just such a wanderer he doesn't know how to commit to a family and I feel bad for him because of that. At least that's how I interpreted it. It would have been very easy to make Anders an asshole with no layers. Luke and the team behind the show are clearly smarter than that.

So close.... - If they're anything like their son, I'm sure David's parents sprung for Troll Insurance... - I'd say this episode and the two immediately following it do tie into the finale in an indirect sort of way, but I will admit it's difficult to see without the benefit of hindsight
