Good to see you riding, Julie. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 in 2010. Had chemo treatments on and off for about six years. Lost my hair more than once! 😊 But I'm still here. My chemo did cause serious fatigue for a few days afterwards. I kept my activities low key until my energy improved. I got used to the fatigue after each infusion. But the whole experience was basically uneventful. I'm sure your biking will help both physically and emotionally. Keep a positive outlook, it really helps.

You've got this. Make sure you book that holiday to look forward to when you're out the other side. 👍

Keep riding inbetween chemo cycles. Your fight now is with the toxic chemotherapy treatment, that may sound crazy, but that's how it works. Chemotherapy is equivalent to carpet bombing, it will destroy your cancer cells, but puts the rest of your body under immense strain. So plenty of sun(😂) for vitamin D to boost your immune system (which will suffer), ride as soon as able after each treatment to keep your strength and mental wellbeing up, and try to avoid well meaning people, who unfortunately want to sympathise and patronise your condition. My wife and I were recommended a couple of groups of cancer patients to go to, but after 10 minutes at the first one, we couldn't get out fast enough. Both volunteers and sufferers seemed to wallow in negativity and misery, you don't need either. I had some weird side effects from my chemo, you may also, or you might sail through, but keeping up your cycling is essential for wellbeing during the course of treatment, and a faster recovery. I hope you can get a P.I.C. line put in, it's a much better way to administer the chemo rather than a cannula. Anyhoo, that's enough from me Julie, heads up girl, and don't forget to milk it when Mike's around 😘😁. Best wishes to you both from Charlie.

As many are saying and I realise easier said than done by good will. However it is one of the keys to help cope. I had to have chemo 2 years ago for my cancer. I walked in every time smiling , still rode although towards the end down to 30km. You have masses of support Julie … lots of yeeee haaaa’s in the tunnel… light is at the end x

Well done Julie , positivity is the way ,it's one year in August since I had surgery to remove a tumour . Steady progress since Christmas and I am riding 3 times a week now , with your attitude, desire and love of riding you will get through this . Keep positive all the best .

I managed nigh on 3,000 miles on my last set of Cinturato m 700 x 40s, mainly used in road. Ordered a new pair today from tredz.

We are totally in favour of the attitude of screw it Im going to get on a bike :-) Take it easy when you need to but keep going - Just need to hoover the leftover crap bits and hopefully you are done!
