What a support you are Mr Wheeler. I applaud you 🙏
Yeah, I'm lucky, he's a keeper! 🤣😅🤣
You are flying down the road, what an amazing ride. You guys have such a positive attitude and it's enjoyable to watch and makes me feel good. Julie I wish you all the best on your upcoming surgery, you'll get through this with your positivity 😊
Thank you Thomas! 👍❤️ I'll do my best to kick cancer out the park! 🤞🤞🤞🚴🚴🚴And get back on my bike 🚴🚴🚴
Good luck Julie we wish you well from Bloomington Illinois
Cheers Drew. ❤️ I'm going to blooming beat this,! 💪😊
Good news indeed; and to paraphrase Albert Einstein,”as long as I see people riding bicycles I have hope for the world “. 👍🙂
Thank you Paul 👍🚴👍I like that ! 😃😊 I didn't know he said that.... . I do now! 😄☺️
FULL GAS straight out the door, we are not late , definitely not late…..,😀😀
Haha Rick. We're never late.... honest.... 🙄🤔🙄😃
All the best for your operation and recovery Julie. Talk about the fast and furious, I was almost out of breath trying to catch up just watching your ride.😆
Haha, we're never late..... Honest..... Lol.
Thank you for your good wishes Glenn. 👍❤️
Thanks for sharing your update. Best wishes from across the pond. I too had surgery to replace my hip. The surgeon was amazed at the speed of my recovery and credited my cycling habit. We hope your fitness does the same for you. Both of you will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Thank you ❤️ glad to hear you had a speedy recovery. I'm really hoping that it'll make a difference to me too. 🤞🤞🤞 Cheers for watching and commenting. 👍🍦
Normal grey and showery sky. Been there. Done that. Got wetted there. Road raced there. Tented there. Sailed there. Ferried there. Commenced as a child there 1952. Ooh, blue sky in Bournemouth. Circulated it on FulGaz in 2022. Thanks for the reminiscences.
Glad you enjoyed it David! ❤️👍🚴🚴🚴
A very enjoyable and memorable day out on the bike. Thank you for scooping me up and riding with me. I very much look forward to riding with you both same time next year.
Well done Steve, 💪👍I hope you did hit the 100 miles. 🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴I really enjoyed the day, being on the bike.... churning out the miles with lovely people. 😍❤️
Keep positive! I'm going through prostate cancer treatment. I am doing the hormone therapy and I have done the radio therapy. I watch your videos on the exercise bike along with my son's videos recorded in Finland; a great place for gravel biking also on TH-cam. I need to keep exercising and prevent muscle loss due to hormone therapy. XX
Aw Neil . 😘 Thank you. ❤️👍 Hadn't realised that Finland was a gravel destination.
Keep going with your fight against the big c. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. 😃👍🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴
Well done guys, great ride and fab news about Julie! 👏
Thank you Steve 🚴❤️ I'm so relieved it's contained. 🤗😘
Really great to see Julie absolutely tearing up this ride, all the best to you all.
Thanks Neal. 🚴👍🚴 I really enjoyed doing this event, it was great to be on the bike! 👍❤️
So glad your prognosis is good Julie, your positive attitude will get you through this along with Mikes super support. Your a lovely couple who give people alot of pleasure watching you vids. Having watched my wife battle cancer over the last year its a horrible thing to deal with, but your fit and your positive attutude will ensure your days off the bike will be minimal. Hope to bump into you out riding one day to wish you all the best in person. You rock girl.
Aw thanks Paul that's so nice! ❤️🤗 I'll do my darnedest to kick this out the park. 🤞👍🚴🚴🚴 And wish your wife the strength to do the same. 🤗😘
Wishing you all the very best on your upcoming journey, with your positivity and Mikes unwavering support, and all the support from your family friends subscribers/viewers you will get through this together.
Thank you Anji, ❤️😀🚴 I intend to do my best to knock this out the park.🤞😃 Really appreciate your encouragement and support 👍👍👍🚴🚴🚴🚴
Way to go Wheelers ❤😊
Cheers Heather 👍❤️👍
My wife is a colon cancer survivor (twice, 13 years apart), and she is able to live a normal life, works full time and we take long car trips. You will do great, and be back on the bike before you know it! Julie, we'll be send healing thoughts your way.
Thank you so much for your encouraging comment. ❤️😘 I'm going to do my best to kick cancer out the park! ☺️👍🤞🚴🚴🚴
Really enjoyed the video , my wife has no interest in cycling but Julie hasn’t been far from our thoughts this week ,it’s obviously hard but as Mike said Julie was very much in her happy place on this ride , very best wishes from us both 👍
Thank you so much Neil. ❤️👍 I really did enjoy this ride. As soon as I was diagnosed I have had this ride in my mind to enjoy. 🚴🚴🚴 I'm going to do my best to kick cancer out the park,! 💪🤞💪❤️
So well put together are your videos, I love watching them, Positive news too Julie, great to see you out enjoying your rides, I used to cover my ears every time a tunnel came up, but I’ve got to like your channel so much you can yeeehaaa through tunnels anytime for me ☺️☺️
Aw that's great to hear Mark! Thank you ❤️👍
Well done, you were certainly giving it some "beans" on the downhill sections. Shame about the weather, some of the video shots brought back memories of my visits to the island. Lovely to see you enjoying cycling and keeping fit to kick "C" out ❤
Thank you Martin 👍 the weather wasn't too bad, it just mizzled! 🌦️
A few years back we got soaked to the skin in this event, it wasn't like that thankfully. 😊I did really enjoy being on the bike😍❤️ the iow is really nice! 👍
Great video all the best with your health you are very fit that will stand to you.
Thank you Sean ❤️👍❤️, I'm really hoping that will help me get back on the bike as soon as I can. 😀👍💪💪💪
Well done guys a great ride I love riding on the iow. Keep strong and keep peddling julie 👍🏻🚲😊
Thank you Paul I'll do my best, 👍❤️ The iow roads and people are so nice. 👍🚴🚴🚴
Good to see you getting out...our very best to you both x
Thank you so much Peter and Vicky, ❤
Some advice Julie. After my bowel surgery, I was told I could continue with a normal diet. Effectively saying I could eat anything. But I had more problems down the line. After a bit of research I found that some processed food products can actually 'feed' cancer cells. I gave up ham, sausages, burgers etc. This was a turning point for me. Now I'm completely meat free and feel so much better for it. Everybody is different, but worth thinking about. That was a great ride on the island, we've just booked the ferry for June. Good luck on your journey.
Thank you ❤️😘 I already know that spices are a no no. Haven't had them for about 6 months, or if I do, I'm not well afterwards. I know my diet is going to change, I tried meat free a few years back but ended up iron deficient 🙄 really appreciate your support and encouragement. 😘
@@julie-wheelersatlarge Yes I too, ended up iron deficient. I tried iron pills but with no effect. I now have 6 monthly blood tests with an iron infusion every year. Completely changed my life. . .
Wow! 😃 I do think that stress has a lot to answer for. 🤔 Just getting that out of my life should help, 😀
@@julie-wheelersatlarge Promise my last reply! Yes stress is a big factor. I was super fit, but in a highly stressfull job. Working very long hours and checking my phone constantly whilst on holiday. Something had to give. The year was 2008, being in and out of hospital for all that year. It was very traumatic, but ironically it was the happiest I'd ever been. The dedicated NHS care that I recevied was most humbling. I am so thankful. Oh and I forget to add, just got my first Ribble Gravel bike!
Good news, Julie. Best wishes for the 31st and recovery.
Great video and a decent prognosis if there is such, good luck Julie there is so much positive energy and support and the big man has your back ❤
Thank you so much ❤️🚴👍 I'm going to do my utmost to beat this. 😀🤞🚴❤️
Great ride, guys and looking forward to many more in the years ahead 👍🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
Thanks Paul 🚴👍 ❤️🚴🚴🚴🚴
Good thing Mike’s shirt is rain…”resistant”🤣. Thanks for sharing the ride and the update. The healing power of doing what you love is very self evident. Keep at it legends!!
Cheers Mike 👍🚴 I did enjoy being on the bike. My happy place 🚴🚴😍🚴😍
Thanks for the update and another great ride. I have just spent a few very windy days in your neck of the woods. Hope all goes well Julie❤
Thank you Lisa ❤️ It's been a tad windy. 🌬️🌪️Hope you had a good time regardless. 🚴👍😊
So wonderful to see you back out there and such a great ride! Keep it up as it gets your mind off of everything else for a while, it's just good for the soul! 💯❤

Nice to see you so happy Julie. Glad the prognosis is positive 😊 Love the Randonnee.

The randonnee was good fun, I really enjoyed being on the bike churning out the miles! 🚲🚴🚲🚴
Great to see you both at the weekend, that was me what spotted you in Niton village just before Blackgang hill.Well done to you both.
Hey Simon, that was so great to be wheeler spotted. 👍❤️👍 Loved the event.... So good. 👍🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴
Chapeau Mike and Julie!. All the best with the op. Will be thinking of you both❤
Thank you David ❤️🤗
Thanks for your company and I had a great day 🚴♂️🚴♂️👍
Likewise Martyn, it was a great day on the bikes! ❤️👍
Really enjoyed this video. Nice memories from the comfort of my sofa! I was somewhere behind you on the day as we didn't get the ferry from Lymington until 9am! Such a fun day if a little wet at times!
Really pleased to hear the prognosis is better than you may have feared. Wishing you all the very best for the treatment and recovery.
I am sure I saw you two cycling through Ferndown on Saturday - I was not quite close enough to holler 'Wheelers At Large' - or 'Yeehaa'. I could be wrong but the profile and the very bright shirts made me think Wheelers! ;-)
Yep, that was us Penny 👍. We did a flat 30 miles to prepare for the hills of the IOW 🤔🤣😅🤣 and we rode through Ferndown, using the new bike lanes! 👍👍👍
The iow randonnee is a great event, I really enjoyed it. 🚴🚴🚴
I'll do my best to tell cancer to Do one! 💪❤️
This was my first time riding the IoW Randonnee, this was also my longest ever ride as i rode from poole and covered 180km . i saw the two of you on the ferry on the way home. All the best for your op.
Thank you Kevin 👍😃 Wow! 180km.... Nice distance! Quite some climbing in that aswell! 🚴💪🚴
@@julie-wheelersatlarge according to my wahoo 1700 metres of climbing 😳
A cycle ride is great for taking our minds off things! Perfect remedy. And a good mood helps the immune system. So glad it is contained the the bowl and they are operating quickly. Hope it works out well.
Thank you Andrew 👍❤️👍 on my bike is my happy place! 🚴🚴🚴🚴 Its really good that I haven't got long to wait 😃
Thanks for the video, definitely going to do the RANDONEE
Yeah it's a great event Steve. 👍 All very organised and the roads are so good! 👌 I'll see you there next year. 🤞🤞😀
You two are amazing. Your positivity, your bond and your blooming soeed😂 Chapeau!!
Speed even!
Aw, thanks Linda that so nice ❤️. 👍😍
Hugs and prayers to you both. Julie's prognosis sounds good, hope the op goes well.

Another lovely fun video. Many thanks for posting. You will both be in my thoughts and prayers up to and beyond the 31st of May.
Thank you Paul 🙏
Fly out to Mallorca tomorrow. Will think of you Julie as I go out to the lighthouse and the great rides you have had out there. Keep strong and continue to fight what is in front of you.
Thank you Stevie ❤ I'll do my best 💪 I'm looking forward to finishing that ride to the lighthouse at some point! 🤞🤞🤞👍
Enjoy mallorca 😎🌞😃🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴
It was my first one this year. Was hoping to see you, but I spent more time looking down at my punctures. 😅
That doesn't sound fun at all Jeff but when it's a puncture day... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This vlog perfectly summed up the randonnee, glad that the wally who was wheeler spotting in his car just before the freshwater checkpoint didn't get in...... wonder who that was??? 🤔🤔🤔 Great seeing you both ♥️
That was brilliant to be spotted by you! 🚴🚴😃
It was great to be on your island! The roads are so good! 🚴👍😃
Fantastic ride guys keep up the good fight Julie hopefully you get everything sorted and you 2 will be back doing what you love
Thank you Wayne ❤️👍 I'll do my best! 🤞🤗
Wowza! Well done both of you! We always used to bring school parties over to the IOW every year and often wondered how it didn't sink with the massive influx!⛴️Good news Julie about your diagnosis. Keep up the positivity which I know you will.💪 And long live Mr Whippy!🍦
Haha, he had a sneaky ice cream! 🤭🤣😂
Thank you Anne, I intend to tell cancer to Do one! 🤞😀🚴🚴🚴
Hi Julie , I’ve just watched your video and you just mention that you may have to have stoma. ( for a short time )
I have a stoma for 14 years now. I have always cycled from the age of 11 and now I’m 67 and it being fit that saved me .
I still go out on the bike with no big issues . Maybe having a quick pit stop when needed ( behind a bush on a country lane ) .
I would be happy to give you any advice if you need it .
Ask your stoma nurse for a radar key it’s for toilets .
But let’s hope that you may not need a stoma .
Good luck with your surgery and I hope your outcome goes well.
Happy to help and Happy cycling 🚴 .
Thank you so much Kev, it does seem amazing how many people have a stoma. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't need one. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 But I know it's quite likely I will have one temporarily.
I appreciate your offer of help and advice. Thank you. 😘 I intend to tell cancer to Do one! 💪🚴💪🚴
Great Randonnee and great views..and glad the prognosis is positive.!!
Greetings from Belgium..
Thank you Ulrich ❤️I'm so relieved it's contained..😀
👍Love the IOW its great to ride,🚲🚴🚲🚴
Great ride both of you really enjoyed that and also your vlogs , wishing Julie well and glad your still out riding 👍😀please keep the rides coming and videos thanks Bri Yorkshire
Thank you Bri 👍
Perhaps you’d consider SRAM Rival as an entry level group set. Cheaper than 105 Di2, completely wireless and works beautifully. The 35/48 with 10-36 rear hub gives a great range of gears ideal for mortal riders.
Yes, it'll be interesting to make comparisons but have only scratched the surface so far. Looks like it might actually be nearly as cheap and definitely more availability on a complete bike 😁
Great video as always, and a fab ride. Lovely to bump into you on the Island. One step/pedal at a time. PMA will get you through and you have it in bucket loads. You are in my thoughts. 🤞
Aw cheers Gill, 🚴👍🚴 thanks so much for your support and encouragement! 🤗😘🤗
Even though a bit cloudy and damp, that looked like a wonderful ride. Climbs, descents, and a ton of like-minded folk to talk shop with. I haven’t done 100 miles yet but will be doing a metric century fundraiser on May 18th.
I did my very first group ride a couple of Saturdays ago. It was only 7 or 8 people, and only 18 miles, but it was a lot of fun. I was apprehensive about riding with others, but it wasn’t at all the cringy experience I had imagined. I will definitely be doing it again (if the weather will quit messing with me).
Julie, regarding your question at 11:49: you do that so that us old viewers gain the inspiration to go out and do climbs like those. Every time I see you going up a hill, I say to myself, “Self, you need to keep working. You can do that.” 😊
More positive energy is being sent your way, and maybe a yeehaw or two. You’ve got this. 💜
Thank you so much John. ❤️😀 Good luck for your 100k on the 18th. 🤞😃🚴🚴🚴
I intend to tell cancer to Do one. 👍🤭😄 Enjoy your riding.
Great news for the positive diagnosis. Best of a bad job 😉 thanks for all you and Mike do for use on TH-cam xxx
Thank you David for your encouragement 👍 I'm so relieved it's contained!💪❤️
Brilliant well done ❤
Thank you Chris! ❤️👍 IOW randonnee is always great fun. 👍🚴🚴🚴
Rain, in the IOW? Who would have imagined that?
I know, it wasn't too bad though. Just a bit of mizzle,!
That's positive news Julie - good to hear! Good to see you having so much fun too! I'm sure the mental side of things plays a huge part in how we respond to and cope with episodes like this, especially when it comes to the recovery period, so keep those positive vibes going and kick arse! 👍
That looks a great day out, but also a tad hilly - well done all for completing the ride.
Great stuff!
Thanks Mick, ❤️😘 being on the bike definitely made my brain switch off and I just enjoyed being on the bike which was very good for me. 👌 And so much support from everyone that spotted us aswell! 😄😀
I intend to do my utmost to beat this and get back on the bike. 👍🚴🚲🚴🚲 Thank you for your encouragement and support ❤️👌👍😀
I've liked, watched and now for the comment.
What an enjoyable day not even the patches of rain could dampen anyones spirit. Lovely to chat with you guys again at various points around the ride. A great day.
Aw thank you Roger. 👍🚴 It was a great day out on the IOW. I really enjoyed it. 😄 And riding with you again! 👍🚴🚴🚴
Really positive and encouraging news. Wishing all the best ahead of your op. Stay strong 👍🏼
Thank you Sheetal 👍🚴 It was the best outcome I could have hoped for. 👌 I intend to do my best to beat this. 💪😀 Cheers for your support and encouragement ♥️😘
Well done you two - So jealous. I'm signed off for 6 weeks and can't get on my bike due to having stitches on my back.
Yikes Ian. 😲 Take it easy. Rest and recover..... Gonna be my mantra soon! 🤔🙄
I’m glad I caught up with you all at the second checkpoint. So nice riding with you again
It certainly was Darren, ❤️ really good day on the island again,! 🚴
Excellent ride guys, top effort! Motivated me to do this next year 🤛
You need to do it Monty, there's not much flat on the island though! 😅💪💪🚴🚴
Great job ! Once again you made my time on the trainer better. Thanks for the prognosis you will kick cancers ass. I am using bad words like julie did a year ago . Ha ha bunkie
Thanks Bunkie! ❤️ I'll do my best. 💪🚴
