How to bananify a eurorack module
Notice that you will loose all the normalized connections on the jacks, but many modules haven't any of them. In my case, it was a great solution for my euro Serge.
ADD small pieces of heatshrink tube on the banana tip to avoid a contact with the groundplane thru the holes !!!

    • @emulgatorx
      @emulgatorx 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can and there are a few tutorials out there. I think even red LEDs have a too high forward voltage for a guitar signal though, but you can use Schottky diodes which should clip even at such low voltages. But it's not the best sounding distortion because there is no tone stack and it eats quite some volume from the signal. So if you want to switch that on for lead sounds, you'll actually drop the volume requiring an additional boost pedal. At this point, you could just use an overdrive instead and spare the trouble.

But if i use the output of a vco and play whith the pitch, the width and add it lfo it's works like a kind of audio destructor or a very strange effect (but a lovely strange effect). • @yanproefrock651
      @yanproefrock651 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      trig and gates can be too short in time and voltage to wake it up. Try any modulation CV, LFO... you can also try to scale/offset input signals to adjust reaction

    Hey! I just finished building this circuit, and it works, but It seems to only work with modules like chance for example that can shoot out high gain gates. Is there any chance you could charge this LED with something passive? Say a piezo mic or something

    • @yanproefrock651

      Hi Joseph. The three LEDs inside a single RGB LED often have different operating voltages and current levels. A red LED typically needs about 2 volts. The voltage drop tends to rise as the frequency of the light wave increases. A blue LED may drop around 3 volts. So you don't need a high gain signal to activate the circuit, but yes there is a minimum. You could of course amplify your piezo mic signal to make it work, but you need to input some voltage
