Triggering an IOT relay with a Huanyang VFD
This video will show you just how simple it is to setup and turn on the "NORMALLY OFF" outlets of an IOT relay with a Huanyang VFD to turn on dust collection, water chiller, radio, lights, TV, or whatever your heart desires. 😜 It's a very easy process to do. As always if you have any questions just let me know.

Apparently I can't seem to upload videos to Facebook because it crashes. Anyhow this is a little update video to show off the newly redesigned and simplified Jtech Laser quick mount / dismount bracket I've come up with that eliminates any need for magnets. I will have these available as soon as I possibly can. Thank you all for your support. These aren't yet on my Etsy store www.etsy.com/shop/J...

This video went longer than expected and is horrible. Intended to post it in the Onefinity users group on Facebook, but apparently Facebook just doesn't want to upload it for some reason unknown. Anyhow, I apologize for how I'm just all over the place on this video, but I just literally have nowhere good to sit down and have a nice area to set this up better and do a proper video.

Absolutely love this DJI Mavic Air. As a beginner myself I believe it's a perfect drone for anyone wanting to get into stuff like this. I mean, I could have settled for the DJI Spark which is what I really was contemplating getting, and instead jumped the gun on Mavic Air because it had slightly more battery / flight time and of course the 3 axis gimble with 4k camera.

I want to hook an iot relay to my vfd to power a dust collector when my cnc spindle is running, but I also want to be able to manually turn on the dust collection with a switch to vacuum out the enclosure. HI Jason, great content for sure. I have two questions. One I wanted to clarify something about the ground for the spindle (for the touch probe to work without the magnet lead). This is a separate ground wire and NOT the other end of the cable shielding correct? I assume that as I know from my communications days that you cannot ground both ends of a shield on a RS485 cable or you will create a ground loop but I was not sure if there was a 4th wire (ground wire) running in that cable from the VFD to the spindle. Do you also need to run a ground wire between the pin 4 on the spindle to the spindle case? I think that is what you were saying but I am not 100% sure. 2.) Do you know where I can find information on the "sizing of the spindle" in terms of KWs? Say I was using 200V and not limited by amperage, is there any advantage to going to something greater than a 1.5Kw? Does it strictly relate to the material you are cutting or are there practical structural limits to the Onefinity even with a Z20 and a "Stiffy" component? Trying to wrap my head around this before I purchase a spindle. Cheers John

    Well, you asked, sooo. ALWAYS include ALL hardware necessary to make your product work. No amount of "savings" can buy back the good will lost from a customer totally frustrated because they can't use what they bought just for the lack of a screw. It looks like you have a well designed product. I suspect it's worth more than what you are charging. I also suspect that if you _raised_ the price five dollars and put in an extra screw you wouldn't lose a single sale/customer. 😔 Keep on keeping on!

    My grasp on circuits and electric current is very basic so forgive the rookie questions: Looks like you only have 2 inputs coming from the wall outlet (R and S) an outlet has 3 terminals, pos, gnd, neutral. Which two are you hooking up to R and S? Don't you need to have something running from the ground prong in the wall outlet to a vfd terminal? Are you using a different cable from wall to vfd than from vfd to spindle? (that would explain only having the two wires R/S) could you just walk me through terminal assignment from left to right? I know these questions are ridiculous just trying to get a better grasp on everything

    • @huntersmith8872
      @huntersmith8872 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      After looking up some stuff, looks like you just left out the "null line" which I'm guessing is the neutral line?

    • @jasonstewart5942
      @jasonstewart5942 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah you’re overthinking it. Honestly I’m probably going to delete this video as it was more intended as a “this is how easy it is to connect a VFD & spindle “ to the Onefinity cnc controller. It wasn’t as focused on “this is how you wire input power and output spindle power”. Also in terms of line voltage you have hot legs, neutral, and ground. For 120v you typically have black (hot), white (neutral), green (ground). For 240v it’s two hot legs (possibly black and white, maybe black & black, maybe black and red, etc) and a green (ground). For 240v don’t let it confuse you, just know that there’s two hot legs and a ground wire.

    Jason - it's me again! I have reset the HuanYang VFD to factory settings. I have gone through and set up the parameters for my 1F controller, I have set the incoming power parameters and the parameters for my HY spindle. I have done continuity checks on all the pins and my wiring; wrung it out to ensure that wires are on the right pins. Shielded cable is also grounded to the VFD. Here's what I'm running: VFD - HY02D211B (110v, 2.2KW) Spindle - GDZ-80-2.2C(4) 80x238, 110v-400Hz, 2.2Kw, 24000 RPM (water-cooled) Input voltage is 120v on a dedicated 12/2 from a 20A breaker (home-run) When I power up everything and do a, "M3 S12000" or any RPM, the spindle starts turning and runs up to around 900 or so RPM (I used a laser tach to verify) then it stops. I get a A.o.A error on the VFD. I can stop it, do it again and get the same results. Full disclosure: I haven't hooked up the water yet as I wanted to at least get the thing turning briefly before I ran all the coolant lines. It has never spun up over 1000 RPM's. I realize you don't like giving out params for folks as every situation is different. That's not on you. I went through this video several times and still can't figure out what's up. Could use your thoughts, when you have time to think. I can message you on FB in the 1F group if you want me to run through my params?

    Sent you this on Facebook but I suppose it works here. Not sure how often you're in FB. I've been watching your videos and have been configuring a stinkin' Huanyang VFD. I'm a geek woodworker and have done my fair share of soldering and micro-miniature repair (Navy Vet - I was a twidget meaning I was in a tech field instead of Engineering). Looking at all the info I can find, seems that Pd144 on the VFD should be set to 3600 to achieve 24000 on the spindle. 3000 is the setting at 50Hz and 3600 at 60Hz. Or is going to matter that much? Thanks for your time and attention. Thanks for your videos too! They've cost me $$$. Yeah...I bought the Fanttik stuff and a couple of the little voltage modules.
