Depending on what the entire deal looks like, Triantos for Luzardo would be ideal. If Hoerner is traded to Seattle, hopefully they get one of the other younger pitchers and not Castillo.

Not sure why, I wasn't rude or anything, just said that as a Yankee fans I wouldn't be willing to give much for Bellingers without the cubs picking up a big chunk of salary, because the Cubs obviously need to move him. My take it or leave it offer would be Stroman plus Warren for Bellinger. That cuts a huge chunk of the Yankees cost for Belli. Yankees have multiple ways they can fill their outfield, and don't really need Bellinger, while the Cubs absolutely have to move him to afford to make the moves that will.make the Tucker trade possibly be worth it.

Solid player, just not one we really need at his price. You mentioned that most other teams likely aren't going to go for Bellinger but that he's a good fit for the Yankees so they would be more likely to be accepting of his current contract. I think that the Yankees are well-aware that the Cubs are having trouble finding a buyer for Belli, that will factor into their negotiations and tip it more in the Yankees favor. The Yankees don't NEED Belli. Similarly, the Cubs don't NEED to get rid of Belli, so that could even it out or just lead to nothing being agreed to. I think at best the Cubs are going to be paying some of Belli's remaining contract, but won't have to give anyone else up to get rid of him. Definitely wouldn't expect the Cubs to get anyone great out of the deal in return. Probably some farm hands or a sketchy reliever.

would've rather seen suzuki go than paredes. paredes was an all-star last year and we got him for next to nothing AND we had him til what 2027!! yes tucker will be the best player on the team but for just a year? chances are he won't re-sign. idk not a good trade if you ask me. if cam smith pans out to be anything it's gonna look twice as bad

The Cubs biggest contract ever given to a player is 8 years for 183 million. Tucker will demand over 8 years possibly 10 for 400 million . I really don't think The Cubs will be able to sign him to an extension. Lol

Tucker is going to be hugely expensive to sign to new contract. My approach might be keep Belli. Play Busch at 3B in a platoon with Paredes. Play Shaw and Hoerner at 2B. Belli at 1B. Spend $ on the bullpen or trade an OF prospect for carefully scouted, cost controlled pitching. If its not working by the trade deadline plenty of teams will come calling.

I'm not moving Shaw or Cam Smith. Cam Smith is my 3B of the future when Nico's contract is up, Shaw at 2B, Smith at 3B. Owen Cassie is the biggest chip I'd trade, and it's a damn good one for 1 year of Tucker. Cassie, Paredes, Asaad package is more than enough.

Keep Seiya AND trade for Tucker(Parades, Wicks, and two top 100 prospects not Shaw or Cam Smith...which they can't get them all at the MLB level anyway with so many AAA already)...make sure Tucker would be open to signing a deal. Let Tucker and Seiya split time in RF/DH. Solved...now spend the money, cheap ass Ricketts

For a one year rental of Tucker even a 3 year cost controlled Paredes is too much let alone a 2 year cost controlled Suzuki for 1 year of Tucker. Astros farm system sucks so anything you get back won’t be quality. And you definitely shouldn’t add Cam Smith to the package. He takes over third once after Shaw moves over to second in a couple years to take Nico’s spot.

I'm personally a little hesitant with the idea of trading for tucker purely because it's only one year and he won't sign an extension. I like the idea of trading paredes but I really like seiya and would love if he could stay. also love the use of the cookie and fearless instrumentals my goat 🫡
