Shohei would look awesome in a Cubs uniform.
I’m a White Sox fan, If the Cubs get him, I hope they want him just hitting and have him play first base, So he want get hurt hitting and pitching and Cubs should pay at 170mill over 5 years and they should sign Blake Snell and Sonny Gray, Blake Snell 180 million of 5 years and Sonny Gray at 3 years 80 mill
I'm at a loss as to why anybody would choose to commit to CA ...
It's ground zero for the U.S. epidemic of societal decay ... but you can bet the ranch Gavin Newsom has influence on his decision.
I realy hope we can get him!!!!!!
Ladies and gentlemen… he’s back
Cubs are going over 1st luxury threshold, maybe even 2nd
Good job u have knowledge beyond your years
I hope it’s the Cubs but I do think everybody is overlooking the Giants
Ohtani coming to the cubs would be the biggest sport story since COUNCIL AS MANAGER
Fire video
Seiya Suzuki & Shohei Ohtani are good friends. If Shohei joins the team, we will see a hilarious comic story between the two of them. ^^;
I honestly hope Cubs,Giants or Rays get him. Rays seems unlikely unless the Wander situation ends and he won't play again in the MLB. But I honestly expect Dodgers or Cubsbto get him
Rays? are you out of your mind? He is not going to the east or any team east of the mississippi.
@@sdfv4zxdudes an idiot the team that won’t sign any free agents is going to spend on the most expansive one of all time 😂.
@@sdfv4zx supposedly if this Wander situation ends soon to where it's to where he can't return to MLB like ever then Rays will supposedly try to get Ohtani or another big free agent probably pitcher but all depends where this Wander situation leads to
Cubs have less than a 2% chance
I read somewhere the Dodgers would likely get him. Cubs fanatic here so I hope they do get him
He’s going to the Dodgers
Make Ohtani a cub
Lock up 600mil worth of Spending on a DH when you Need Bullpen, An Ace, 3B and 1B. Plus have Morel. Only for Ohtani to say No
W
if ur gonna put him in pinstripes, might as well make him a cub
Shohei is an amazing talent, but to be honest I think I'd rather use the money to sign Belli, a top tier 1st and/or 3rd baseman, and a frontline starter.
I’d rather have Bellinger and Yamamoto for the salary allotment. It’s less risky to have two players than one player with two roles, and no prospects are given up in a trade.
Definitely. Bellinger and a great pitcher would be better than paying so much for sho’. If his pitching arm gets hurt or doesn’t come back, he becomes a super expensive DH. It’s just too risky. Juan Soto and Bellinger both would be better. Two big bats.
I’m with that they cubs already said bellinger is their number 1 thing to sign but I sure like that belly n Yamamoto
He will most likely be a Dodger unfortunately.
Cubs picked up the option on Hendricks already
Good
@@theplumber9427 also Darvish was signed wayyyyy before 2022…. Many errors in this video
The wnole point is, he wants to go to a team that has a chance to win.
I don't like Chicago or Toronto because it's too cold! LOL but whatever team Ohtani goes to, that's my favorite team!
Dodger fan, but I hope the Cubs do get him
Your not a Dodger at all 😂. What's wrong with you ???
@@johnsepulvedacruz6428 50 million a year for a DH.
how many shootings in Chicago this weekend? Illinois - Dirty, Crime Filled, High Tax.
I would like to get him but the cubs could spend his salary on SEVERAL Players and really revamp the team. Too much momney for Shohei
Fact, he has always wanted to be a Dodger
Doggers cant afford him but sf can.
Sign Ohtani the Chi wants him
Pop off
I saw drawing from u in PAC
I never saw before today
For an elite top 5 hitter and elite top 10 pitcher 44 mil per year is low
Well, he won't be pitching in 2024 so there's that.
Chances? None.
I keep hearing he’s gonna be a Ranger.
Cubs make absolutely no sense. They aren’t close to being World Series contenders and Ohtani wouldn’t change that. And they aren’t on the west coast. Why would he pass up the Dodgers for the Cubs?
Hahahahahaha. He's not leaving California.
What I don't like about getting Ohtani is the contract amount. I understand paying for premium talent.
I just worry that too many resources to one player could handicap what this team can do with the rest of the team.
It would be much easier to keep Cody Bellinger, trade for Juan Soto and get a starting pitcher like Aaron Nola or Sonny Grey.
Which makes the team a lot more complete than if they just grab Ohtani. Morel is getting reps at 1B and they could sign a lower cost 3B option or bring back Candalario on a short term deal until some prospects come up and use him then to get relief pitching.
I would rather see some depth over 1 impact move and 5 cheap guys surrounding him. Yeah, it might only be like for 1 season. I would bet though that Ohtani is tired of losing. He has dealt with a non competitive Angels team that has had a 2 man show ever since he arrived. It has been him and Mike Trout.
I think he wants to win.
The Cubs and Rangers are the only 2 non-west coast teams that he is considering.
I think the Cubs are a dark horse candidate for him. I just think they could make a better team going the Bellinger/Soto route.
Bellinger getting 200 million why trade for Soto for a year he already turned down 400 million Nola will be top dollar too the guy your asking for are expensive free agents
Contracts are only going one way and its not down. Even at $50 million a year for 12 years his contract will not be the highest by year 6. Teams are doing lower AAV to avoid contracts looking like 3 years for 180 for example. Ohtani comes with a built in discount anyhow, seeing how he brought in 23 million in 2023 for the Angels from Japanese billboard advertising in the stadium. I'm not even talking boost in ticket sales and merch yet. I doubt he will sign with the Cubs though as they don't look much different from the Angels at this point.
@@davidmoss2576 I would think 8 million for a manger the cubs will spend big if they can
I got mixed feelings on cubs signing ohtani, Great player indeed, but he handicap a payroll for other guys. Ohtani gets hurt and with $50 mil yr, that'll sting. If ohtani goes Dodgers, cubs should get Soto, resign Bellinger and may Alonso or Turner.
In LA Ohtani would only be a star surrounded by other stars. But in San Francisco he would be a superstar and it's a big market team with a great stadium that has the cove to launch balls into. What more could he ask for
San Fran is a bigger mess now than Chicago. Ohtani won't want to live in either of those cities.
Why would he want to go from one 4th place team to another lol
@@allelujah1210 Became the Giants won't remain there. And I stand by what I said. He would only be just another star while the fans play with there beach balls. Arriving late and leaving early.
@paulbegley1464 haha those are really bad reasons. He wants to WIN not just hit home runs
@@allelujah1210 oh you can bet the Giants would put good players around him. Enough to compete
What's the chances of us getting him you think Llama?
North of 0 but south of 2.
Oh come on Ohtani should know that the Dodgers suck. For crying out loud they play with beach balls during the game.
I honestly feel that the team that ends up with Ohtani will regret signing him sooner then later
why?
You're deluding yourself. He is a Dodger and that's that. No team has the money, sustained level of success, proximity to Japan, and base of Japanese and Japanese-American fans that the Dodgers do.
lol staaaaaaaapppp it
Move morel too 2nd base and put Nico at 3rd.. then trade for a 1st baseman
nico has a noodle for an arm it would make more sense to move dansby to 3rd nico short morel 2nd belli or mervis 1st
*Find Videos of NFL, Nintendo, Paris Hilton, MLB Baseball and more by Jim NFL 7!* Pretty Good Player but i would not Call Ohtani an ICON, who is he? Since his team is NEVER in the Playoffs!
Ohtani isn't going to sign with the Cubs. Chicago is a horrible place to live now. Full of crime. Just like San Fran. He won't sign with the Giants either. The best place for him to play is where he is now.
Texas Rangers will land him. Its already been leaked thats wehre he's gonna land
He's not going there😮😮😮
Only problem is that he can get two ways by pitching or even by batting with an oblique or hamstring injury. I know the rangers are interested and we really don't have a good record for signing veteran players. There should be some type of clause that can protect teams with long term contracts. Rangers remember Rodriguez Cliff Lee Prince fielder mark texeira and others. Choose wisely. Are team can already hit. We can use another ace, but he might not be the right choice with all the money we've spent.
