    Nice one. If I don't ride much in the off season and the bike hasn't been primed for a month or two, then the prime pump makes a different noise at first. Maybe fuel has drained back out of it or fuel gets gummed up. If I prime the bike every week or two then I don't get that sound.

    My country doesn't take licences, they prefer making money from fines. (South Africa) 🤣 I was traveling on a short stretch of highway near where I live on my way to work early in the morning, I was accelerating past traffic to overtake, looked down at my speedometer and it was 150kmh, then because I had a massive empty stretch ahead of me I kept accelerating and in just a few seconds I looked down at 230kmh, barely even felt as fast as it was. Fortunately the highways I travel on don't have any speed traps. The only speeding fines i've had in recent years were going 80 in 60 zones going to my previous job last year, but that was on my previous 1200cc bike which actually felt faster than it was because it was a naked bike with 0 wind protection.

    • @Grahamvfr
      @Grahamvfr 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you for your input from south Africa 👍. Yes we have a combination of fines and points on licence. Usually 3 points for speeding (can be more) or a speed awareness course may be offered instead. 12 points means you may lose your licence for a given period of time. Stay lucky🤞.

I love (and have pride in it) my riding and I would need a lot of faith in the person assessing me. Knowledge of the roadcraft system would not cut it, as you alluded to. Thanks for your thoughts, always welcome.

      Cheers Graham....Rationale makes sense & understood. Just to add re Bike Safe ....You should still get good feedback if safe & skilled even if not riding to the system throughout your ride. Regardless of methodology I value humilitty & restraint (when appropriate). Still learning here for sure All the best 👍🏍

    Note: Most poor riding, in my experience, comes from wrong attitude, poor behaviour and rash decisions. More so than from weak skills/techniques .

      @Grahamvfr Well its force of habit I suppose. I've been leaving mine off, on all bikes, since the early 2000's. A mate called me over to look at his Triumph Tiger which wouldn't start, but the battery seemed OK as the lights were bright, etc. just no life from the starter motor..... you can see where this is going right away..... 😂 (It did take me 10 minutes to see the problem, after checking side stand switch, etc.) So from then on I decided it was an additional security device, against joy riders and opportunist thieves. Might just take them 30 seconds to realise why a bike won't start (or about the same it takes them to bust your disc lock, or hot wire your ignition).

    Not sure I heard in the video, but did you install the heli-bars yourself? If so, approx how much time did it take and how are you liking the change?

      @@johnschaefer3563 Hi ..no they were fitted by previous owner at service time. Bars then ( 2015) were £175, labour charge unable to ascertain as there was no breakdown on the labour cost which included service Not easy to get hold of now I believe 😏😏.
