De nos jours, « l'avant-garde » est devenue un genre musical plutôt qu'une tendance. Personnellement, j'aime l'utilisation de l'orgue chez Duruflé et l'influence du chant grégorien, mais j'aime aussi l'univers mystique de Messiaen qui exprime la part instinctive de l'humain. Incredibly moving final piece, wonderfully well played. Liberated and unleashed! As it should be, like Pentecostal flames. The whole cycle is marvellous and one of Messiaen's greatest and most original (which is saying something).

Was unaware of this composer. The piece shows a nice sensibility and is a snapshot of 1890s Paris where Japanese things were all the rage, and a 21 year old composer could produce such a pleasing light work for the salon.

Seems Bruckner is diametrically opposite to Wagner of the Tristan score - takes tonality with him everywhere…

One of the top 3 composers of all time... Schoenberg, Bach and Olivier Messiaen.

Deceptively simple but showy! The 32-note runs are generally the same two patterns over and over, with the exception of a few raised tones here and there. Would be a good showpiece for a pianist transitioning to organ.

It would be a pleasure if someone did a full release on this organ. This organ is one of the mightiest German organs probably in history and I myself haven't heard a huge amount of church organs. I mostly listen to Band Organs but since seeing St Ouen de Roeun's Cavaille Coll in October last year I've started listening to church organs more. Widor's 5th Symphony Toccata is probably one of the mightiest tunes ever written. Power and Heaven are 2 words to very well describe it!

Wonderful. I once had the pleasure of hearing this live in Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. It was also stupendous.

Since I heard the Durufle "cover" of this tune in his arrangement before hearing the original "Litanies", it is jarring to expiernce the thematic material at this temp. Perhaps why that's why Durufle chose this piece to "cover".

I love these recordings of Dupré playing his own works! They are always educational as he plays interprets somewhat differently from the scores, giving a full artistic sense of their presentation. The machismo, the rhythmic incision, touch, connection with the instrument - quintessentially Dupré!

This looks quite doable…with the score shown it looks to be accessible for an intermediate-advanced pianist transitioning to organ.

C'est très médiocre la façon de parler des journalistes, les questions qu'ils posent, leur mauvais français, mais aussi la médiocrité des prises de vues, des gros plans sur les détails, c'est affligeant !
